< Psalmorum 146 >

1 Alleluja, Aggæi et Zachariæ.
My soul, praise the Lord.
2 [Lauda, anima mea, Dominum. Laudabo Dominum in vita mea; psallam Deo meo quamdiu fuero. Nolite confidere in principibus,
I will praise the Lord, while I live; I will sing to my God, while I am.
3 in filiis hominum, in quibus non est salus.
Put not your trust in princes mortals, in whom is no help.
4 Exibit spiritus ejus, et revertetur in terram suam; in illa die peribunt omnes cogitationes eorum.
When their breath goes out, they go back to the dust: on that very day their purposes perish.
5 Beatus cujus Deus Jacob adjutor ejus, spes ejus in Domino Deo ipsius:
Happy those whose help is the God of Jacob: whose hope is set on the Lord their God,
6 qui fecit cælum et terram, mare, et omnia quæ in eis sunt.
the Creator of heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them. He remains eternally loyal.
7 Qui custodit veritatem in sæculum; facit judicium injuriam patientibus; dat escam esurientibus. Dominus solvit compeditos;
For the wronged he executes justice; he gives bread to the hungry; the Lord releases the prisoners.
8 Dominus illuminat cæcos. Dominus erigit elisos; Dominus diligit justos.
The Lord gives sight to the blind: the Lord raises those who are bowed. The Lord loves the righteous.
9 Dominus custodit advenas, pupillum et viduam suscipiet, et vias peccatorum disperdet.
The Lord preserves the stranger, upholds the widow and orphan, but the wicked he leads to disaster.
10 Regnabit Dominus in sæcula; Deus tuus, Sion, in generationem et generationem.]
The Lord shall reign forever, your God, O Zion, to all generations. Hallelujah.
