< Psalmorum 111 >

1 Alleluja. [Confitebor tibi, Domine, in toto corde meo, in consilio justorum, et congregatione.
Hallelujah. I will thank the Lord with all my heart, in the assembled congregation of his people.
2 Magna opera Domini: exquisita in omnes voluntates ejus.
Great are the things that the Lord has done, worthy of study by those who love them.
3 Confessio et magnificentia opus ejus, et justitia ejus manet in sæculum sæculi.
Majestic and glorious is his work, and his righteousness abides forever.
4 Memoriam fecit mirabilium suorum, misericors et miserator Dominus.
For his marvellous deeds he has won renown; the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.
5 Escam dedit timentibus se; memor erit in sæculum testamenti sui.
Food he gives to those who fear him, always he remembers his covenant.
6 Virtutem operum suorum annuntiabit populo suo,
His mighty works he has shown to his people, in giving to them the nations for heritage.
7 ut det illis hæreditatem gentium. Opera manuum ejus veritas et judicium.
All that he does is faithful and right, all his behests are firm and sure.
8 Fidelia omnia mandata ejus, confirmata in sæculum sæculi, facta in veritate et æquitate.
They are established for ever and ever, executed with truth and uprightness.
9 Redemptionem misit populo suo; mandavit in æternum testamentum suum. Sanctum et terribile nomen ejus.
To his people he sent redemption, he has appointed his covenant forever. His name is holy and awe-inspiring.
10 Initium sapientiæ timor Domini; intellectus bonus omnibus facientibus eum: laudatio ejus manet in sæculum sæculi.]
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom those who keep it are wise indeed. His praise abides for ever and ever.
