1 Filii Levi: Gerson, Caath, et Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
2 Filii Caath: Amram, Isaar, Hebron, et Oziel.
And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.
3 Filii Amram: Aaron, Moyses, et Maria. Filii Aaron: Nadab et Abiu, Eleazar, et Ithamar.
And the children of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
4 Eleazar genuit Phinees, et Phinees genuit Abisue.
Eleazar begot Phinehas; Phinehas begot Abishua,
5 Abisue vero genuit Bocci, et Bocci genuit Ozi.
and Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi,
6 Ozi genuit Zaraiam, et Zaraias genuit Meraioth.
and Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth;
7 Porro Meraioth genuit Amariam, et Amarias genuit Achitob.
Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,
8 Achitob genuit Sadoc, et Sadoc genuit Achimaas,
and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz,
9 Achimaas genuit Azariam, Azarias genuit Johanan,
and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan,
10 Johanan genuit Azariam: ipse est qui sacerdotio functus est in domo quam ædificavit Salomon in Jerusalem.
and Johanan begot Azariah (he is it that exercised the priesthood in the house that Solomon built in Jerusalem);
11 Genuit autem Azarias Amariam, et Amarias genuit Achitob,
and Azariah begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,
12 Achitob genuit Sadoc, et Sadoc genuit Sellum,
and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Shallum,
13 Sellum genuit Helciam, et Helcias genuit Azariam,
and Shallum begot Hilkijah, and Hilkijah begot Azariah,
14 Azarias genuit Saraiam, et Saraias genuit Josedec.
and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak,
15 Porro Josedec egressus est, quando transtulit Dominus Judam et Jerusalem per manus Nabuchodonosor.
and Jehozadak went away, when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16 Filii ergo Levi: Gersom, Caath, et Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
17 Et hæc nomina filiorum Gersom: Lobni, et Semei.
And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.
18 Filii Caath: Amram, et Isaar, et Hebron, et Oziel.
And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Jizhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.
19 Filii Merari: Moholi et Musi. Hæ autem cognationes Levi secundum familias eorum.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of Levi according to their fathers.
20 Gersom: Lobni filius ejus, Jahath filius ejus, Zamma filius ejus,
Of Gershom: Libni his son, Jahath his son, Zimmah his son,
21 Joah filius ejus, Addo filius ejus, Zara filius ejus, Jethrai filius ejus.
Joah his son, Iddo his son, Zerah his son, Jeathrai his son.
22 Filii Caath: Aminadab filius ejus, Core filius ejus, Asir filius ejus,
The sons of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,
23 Elcana filius ejus, Abiasaph filius ejus, Asir filius ejus,
Elkanah his son, and Ebiasaph his son, and Assir his son,
24 Thahath filius ejus, Uriel filius ejus, Ozias filius ejus, Saul filius ejus.
Tahath his son, Uriel his son, Uzziah his son, and Saul his son.
25 Filii Elcana, Amasai et Achimoth
And the sons of Elkanah: Amasai and Ahimoth.
26 et Elcana. Filii Elcana: Sophai filius ejus, Nahath filius ejus,
Elkanah, — the sons of Elkanah: Zophai his son, and Nahath his son,
27 Eliab filius ejus, Jeroham filius ejus, Elcana filius ejus.
Eliab his son, Jeroham his son, Elkanah his son.
28 Filii Samuel: primogenitus Vasseni, et Abia.
And the sons of Samuel: the firstborn Vashni and Abijah.
29 Filii autem Merari, Moholi: Lobni filius ejus, Semei filius ejus, Oza filius ejus,
The sons of Merari: Mahli; Libni his son, Shimei his son, Uzza his son,
30 Sammaa filius ejus, Haggia filius ejus, Asaia filius ejus.
Shimea his son, Haggijah his son, Asaiah his son.
31 Isti sunt quos constituit David super cantores domus Domini, ex quo collocata est arca:
And these are they whom David set over the service of song in the house of Jehovah after that the ark was in rest.
32 et ministrabant coram tabernaculo testimonii, canentes donec ædificaret Salomon domum Domini in Jerusalem: stabant autem juxta ordinem suum in ministerio.
And they ministered before the tabernacle of the tent of meeting with singing, until Solomon had built the house of Jehovah in Jerusalem; and they attended to their office according to their order.
33 Hi vero sunt qui assistebant cum filiis suis, de filiis Caath, Hemam cantor filius Johel, filii Samuel,
And these are they that attended, and their sons: Of the sons of the Kohathites: Heman the singer, the son of Joel, the son of Samuel,
34 filii Elcana, filii Jeroham, filii Eliel, filii Thohu,
the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah,
35 filii Suph, filii Elcana, filii Mahath, filii Amasai,
the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai,
36 filii Elcana, filii Johel, filii Azariæ, filii Sophoniæ,
the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah,
37 filii Thahath, filii Asir, filii Abiasaph, filii Core,
the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah,
38 filii Isaar, filii Caath, filii Levi, filii Israël.
the son of Jizhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel.
39 Et frater ejus Asaph, qui stabat a dextris ejus, Asaph filius Barachiæ, filii Samaa,
And his brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand: Asaph, the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,
40 filii Michaël, filii Basaiæ, filii Melchiæ,
the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,
41 filii Athanai, filii Zara, filii Adaia,
the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,
42 filii Ethan, filii Zamma, filii Semei,
the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,
43 filii Jeth, filii Gersom, filii Levi.
the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.
44 Filii autem Merari fratres eorum, ad sinistram, Ethan filius Cusi, filii Abdi, filii Maloch,
And their brethren the sons of Merari were on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,
45 filii Hasabiæ, filii Amasiæ, filii Helciæ,
the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkijah,
46 filii Amasai, filii Boni, filii Somer,
the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,
47 filii Moholi, filii Musi, filii Merari, filii Levi.
the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.
48 Fratres quoque eorum Levitæ, qui ordinati sunt in cunctum ministerium tabernaculi domus Domini.
And their brethren the Levites were given for all the service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
49 Aaron vero et filii ejus adolebant incensum super altare holocausti, et super altare thymiamatis, in omne opus Sancti sanctorum: et ut precarentur pro Israël juxta omnia quæ præceperat Moyses servus Dei.
And Aaron and his sons offered upon the altar of the burnt-offering, and on the altar of incense, for all the work of the most holy place, and to make atonement for Israel, according to all that Moses the servant of God had commanded.
50 Hi sunt autem filii Aaron: Eleazar filius ejus, Phinees filius ejus, Abisue filius ejus,
And these are the sons of Aaron: Eleazar his son, Phinehas his son, Abishua his son,
51 Bocci filius ejus, Ozi filius ejus, Zarahia filius ejus,
Bukki his son, Uzzi his son, Zerahiah his son,
52 Meraioth filius ejus, Amarias filius ejus, Achitob filius ejus,
Meraioth his son, Amariah his son, Ahitub his son,
53 Sadoc filius ejus, Achimaas filius ejus.
Zadok his son, Ahimaaz his son.
54 Et hæc habitacula eorum per vicos atque confinia, filiorum scilicet Aaron, juxta cognationes Caathitarum: ipsis enim sorte contigerant.
And these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments, within their borders. For the sons of Aaron, of the family of the Kohathites, for theirs was the lot;
55 Dederunt igitur eis Hebron in terra Juda, et suburbana ejus per circuitum:
and they gave them Hebron in the land of Judah, and its suburbs round about it;
56 agros autem civitatis, et villas, Caleb filio Jephone.
but the fields of the city, and the hamlets thereof gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
57 Porro filiis Aaron dederunt civitates ad confugiendum Hebron, et Lobna, et suburbana ejus,
And to the children of Aaron they gave the city of refuge, Hebron; and Libnah and its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa and its suburbs,
58 Jether quoque, et Esthemo cum suburbanis suis, sed et Helon, et Dabir cum suburbanis suis,
and Hilen and its suburbs, Debir and its suburbs,
59 Asan quoque, et Bethsemes, et suburbana earum.
and Ashan and its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh and its suburbs;
60 De tribu autem Benjamin, Gabee et suburbana ejus, et Almath cum suburbanis suis, Anathoth quoque cum suburbanis suis: omnes civitates, tredecim, per cognationes suas.
and, out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba and its suburbs, and Allemeth and its suburbs, and Anathoth and its suburbs: all their cities, thirteen cities, according to their families.
61 Filiis autem Caath residuis de cognatione sua dederunt ex dimidia tribu Manasse in possessionem urbes decem.
And to the children of Kohath that remained [were given] by lot out of the families of the tribe [of Ephraim and of the tribe of Dan and] of the half tribe, half Manasseh, ten cities.
62 Porro filiis Gersom per cognationes suas de tribu Issachar, et de tribu Aser, et de tribu Nephthali, et de tribu Manasse in Basan, urbes tredecim.
And to the children of Gershom according to their families out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
63 Filiis autem Merari per cognationes suas de tribu Ruben, et de tribu Gad, et de tribu Zabulon, dederunt sorte civitates duodecim.
To the children of Merari [were given] by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
64 Dederunt quoque filii Israël Levitis civitates, et suburbana earum:
And the children of Israel gave to the Levites the cities and their suburbs.
65 dederuntque per sortem, ex tribu filiorum Juda, et ex tribu filiorum Simeon, et ex tribu filiorum Benjamin urbes has, quas vocaverunt nominibus suis,
And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, these cities which were mentioned by name.
66 et his, qui erant de cognatione filiorum Caath, fueruntque civitates in terminis eorum de tribu Ephraim.
And to the families of the children of Kohath who had the cities of their territory out of the tribe of Ephraim,
67 Dederunt ergo eis urbes ad confugiendum, Sichem cum suburbanis suis in monte Ephraim, et Gazer cum suburbanis suis,
they gave the city of refuge, Shechem and its suburbs in mount Ephraim; and Gezer and its suburbs,
68 Jecmaam quoque cum suburbanis suis, et Bethoron similiter,
and Jokmeam and its suburbs, and Beth-horon and its suburbs,
69 necnon et Helon cum suburbanis suis, et Gethremmon in eumdem modum.
and Ajalon and its suburbs, and Gath-Rimmon and its suburbs;
70 Porro ex dimidia tribu Manasse, Aner et suburbana ejus, Balaam et suburbana ejus: his videlicet, qui de cognatione filiorum Caath reliqui erant.
and out of the half tribe of Manasseh: Aner and its suburbs, and Bileam and its suburbs, — for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.
71 Filiis autem Gersom de cognatione dimidiæ tribus Manasse, Gaulon in Basan, et suburbana ejus, et Astaroth cum suburbanis suis.
To the children of Gershom [were given] out of the family of the half tribe of Manasseh: Golan in Bashan and its suburbs, and Ashtaroth and its suburbs;
72 De tribu Issachar, Cedes et suburbanis suis, et Dabereth cum suburbanis suis,
and out of the tribe of Issachar: Kedesh and its suburbs, Dobrath and its suburbs,
73 Ramoth quoque et suburbana ejus, et Anem cum suburbanis suis.
and Ramoth and its suburbs, and Anem and its suburbs;
74 De tribu vero Aser: Masal cum suburbanis suis, et Abdon similiter,
and out of the tribe of Asher: Mashal and its suburbs, and Abdon and its suburbs,
75 Hucac quoque et suburbana ejus, et Rohob cum suburbanis suis.
and Hukok and its suburbs, and Rehob and its suburbs;
76 Porro de tribu Nephthali, Cedes in Galilæa et suburbana ejus, Hamon cum suburbanis suis, et Cariathaim et suburbana ejus.
and out of the tribe of Naphtali: Kedesh in Galilee and its suburbs, and Hammon and its suburbs, and Kirjathaim and its suburbs.
77 Filiis autem Merari residuis: de tribu Zabulon, Remmono et suburbana ejus, et Thabor cum suburbanis sus:
To the children of Merari that remained [were given] out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono and its suburbs, [and] Tabor and its suburbs;
78 trans Jordanem quoque ex adverso Jericho contra orientem Jordanis, de tribu Ruben, Bosor in solitudine cum suburbanis suis, et Jassa cum suburbanis suis,
and on the other side of the Jordan by Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, out of the tribe of Reuben: Bezer in the wilderness and its suburbs, and Jahzah and its suburbs,
79 Cademoth quoque et suburbana ejus, et Mephaat cum suburbanis suis.
and Kedemoth and its suburbs, and Mephaath and its suburbs;
80 Necnon et de tribu Gad, Ramoth in Galaad et suburbana ejus, et Manaim cum suburbanis suis,
and out of the tribe of Gad: Ramoth in Gilead and its suburbs, and Mahanaim and its suburbs,
81 sed et Hesebon cum suburbanis suis, et Jezer cum suburbanis suis.
and Heshbon and its suburbs, and Jaazer and its suburbs.
