< Ruth 2 >

El ma in sou lal Elimelech, mukul tumal Naomi ah.
Naomi had a kinsman of her husband's, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech, and his name was Boaz.
2 Sie len ah Ruth el fahk nu sel Naomi, “Lela nga in som nu in ima ah, ac telani kutu barley ma mwet orekma tia telak ah. Nga lulalfongi mu oasr mwet ac lela ngan ku in fahsr toko.” Na Naomi el fahk nu sel, “Fahsrot, acn nutik.”
Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, "Let me now go to the field, and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor." She said to her, "Go, my daughter."
3 Ouinge Ruth el som nu in ima ah, ac fahsr tukun mwet orekma, ac telani ma elos sisla tia orani ah. Falyang lah ima se ma el som nu kac ah ma lal Boaz.
She went, and came and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.
4 Ke pacl se inge Boaz el tuku Bethlehem me ac el paing mwet orekma ac fahk, “LEUM GOD Elan wi kowos!” Na elos topuk ac fahk nu sel, “LEUM GOD Elan akinsewowoye kom!”
Look, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, "Jehovah be with you." They answered him, "Jehovah bless you."
Then Boaz said to his servant who was set over the reapers, "Whose young woman is this?"
6 Na mwet kol sac fahk, “Mutan sac se ma welul Naomi foloko Moab me ah.
The servant who was set over the reapers answered, "It is the Moabite woman who came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab.
7 El tuh siyuk ngan lela elan fahsr tukun mwet orekma inge ac sifeni ma elos sisla uh. El nuna orekma na oe ke lututang ah me nwe tufahna oru elan mongla pa inge.”
She said, 'Please let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves.' So she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, except that she stayed a little in the house."
Then Boaz said to Ruth, "Listen, my daughter. Do not go to glean in another field, and do not go from here, but stay here close to my maidens.
9 Liye na acn elos kinkin we an ac welulos. Nga fahkang tari mwet luk inge in tia akkolukye kom. Ac pacl kom malu an kom fahla nim kof ke sufa ma elos nwekla ingo.”
Let your eyes be on the field that they reap, and go after them. Haven't I commanded the young men not to touch you? When you are thirsty, go to the vessels, and drink from that which the young men have drawn."
10 Na Ruth el pasrlana nwe ten ac fahk nu sel Boaz, “Mea sis kom arulana fosrngakinyu an? Efu ku kom in arulana kulang nu sin mwetsac se?”
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, "Why have I found favor in your sight, that you should take knowledge of me, since I am a foreigner?"
11 Na Boaz el fahk, “Nga lohng tari ma nukewa kom oru nu sin nina kien mukul tomom oe ke na mukul tomom ah misa ah me. Nga etu pac lah kom fahsr liki papa tomom ac nina kiom ac acn sum, ac tuku muta inmasrlon mwet su kom tia etu.
Boaz answered her, "It has fully been shown to me, all that you have done to your mother-in-law since the death of your husband; and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your birth, and have come to a people that you didn't know before.
12 Lela tuh LEUM GOD Elan folokin nu sum orekma wo lom ingan. Lela tuh kom in eis mwe insewowo yohk sin LEUM GOD lun Israel, su kom tuku suk karinginyuk ye lulin paol!”
May Jehovah repay your work, and a full reward be given you from Jehovah, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge."
13 Na Ruth el topuk ac fahk nu sel, “Kom arulana kulang nu sik. Insiuk misla na pwaye ke sripen kas fisrasr lom nu sik inge, nga finne pusisel liki mwet kulansap lom ingan.”
Then she said, "Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, because you have comforted me, and because you have spoken kindly to your handmaid, though I am not as one of your handmaidens."
14 Ke pacl in mongo ah, Boaz el fahk nu sel Ruth, “Fahsru eis nom sie ipin bread inge ac twanla ke mwe anut inge.” Na el muta yurin mwet orekma, ac Boaz el sang nu sel kutu mongo manman ah, ac Ruth el mongo nwe ke na el kihpi, ac srakna oasr mongo lula yorol.
At meal time Boaz said to her, "Come here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar." She sat beside the reapers, and they reached her parched grain, and she ate, and was satisfied, and left some of it.
15 Na ke el tuyak in som in sifil telani barley ah, Boaz el fahk nu sin mwet orekma lal ah, “Lela elan tiltil in acn nukewa, finne ke acn ma yolani barley an we tari, ac nimet kutongol.
When she had risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, "Let her glean even among the sheaves, and do not humiliate her.
16 Ac kowos in faesla kutu barley liki kap orekeni ingan ac filiya elan telani.”
Also pull out some for her from the bundles, and leave it, and let her glean, and do not rebuke her."
17 Ke ma inge Ruth el til barley in ima sac nwe ke na ekela, ac ke el tokla ma inge el liye tuh na sunun paun longoul limekosr pa el orani ah.
So she gleaned in the field until evening; and she beat out that which she had gleaned, and it was about an ephah of barley.
18 El us ma inge folokla nu in siti uh, ac sang Naomi elan liye lupan ma el telani ah. El oayapa sang luwen mongo nal ah nu sel.
She took it up, and went into the city; and her mother-in-law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought out and gave to her that which she had left after she was sufficed.
Lun su ima kom som orekma we ah? Lela God Elan akinsewowoye mwet se ma kulang nu sum ingan!” Na Ruth el fahkang nu sel Naomi lah el wi orekma in ima lun mwet se pangpang Boaz.
Her mother-in-law said to her, "Where have you gleaned today? And where have you worked? Blessed be he who noticed you." She showed her mother-in-law with whom she had worked, and said, "The man's name with whom I worked today is Boaz."
20 Na Naomi el fahk, “Lela LEUM GOD Elan akinsewowoyal Boaz! Pacl nukewa LEUM GOD El akpwayeye wulela lal nu sin mwet moul ac oayapa nu sin mwet misa.” Na el sifilpa fahk, “Mukul sac sou na fototo nu sesr, ac el pa sie sin mwet fal in fosrngakin ac karingin kut uh.”
Naomi said to her daughter-in-law, "Blessed be he of Jehovah, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead." Naomi said to her, "The man is a close relative to us, one of our near kinsmen."
21 Na Ruth el fahk, “Boaz el fahk pac mu nga ku in wi na mwet lal ah orekma nwe ke na safla pacl in kosrani ke ima sac.”
And Ruth the Moabitess said, "He even said to me, 'You shall stay close to my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.'"
22 Na Naomi el fahk nu sel Ruth, “Aok, wona kom in wi na mutan ingan orekma in ima lal Boaz an. Sahp kom fin som nu in ima lun sie pacna mwet, ac tuh akkolukyeyuk kom.”
Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, "It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, and that they not meet you in any other field."
So she stayed close to the maidens of Boaz, to glean to the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and she lived with her mother-in-law.
