< Job 4 >

1 Na Eliphaz el fahk, “Job, ku kom ac toasrla nga fin sramsram?
Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered,
2 Nga koflana misla ac tia fahk nunak luk.
“If someone ventures to talk with you, will you be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?
3 Kom luti mwet puspis tari, Ac akkeye poun mwet su munas.
Behold, you have instructed many, you have strengthened the weak hands.
4 Ke pacl sie mwet el munasla ac tukulkul, Kas lom tuh akkeyal elan tuyak.
Your words have supported him who was falling, you have made the feeble knees firm.
5 Na inge ke kom pa sun ongoiya uh, Kom arulana lofongla kac.
But now it has come to you, and you faint. It touches you, and you are troubled.
6 Kom tuh alu nu sin God, ac moul lom arulana suwohs; Ke ma inge fal na in oasr lulalfongi ac finsrak lom.
Isn’t your piety your confidence? Isn’t the integrity of your ways your hope?
7 Srike esam lah acnu oasr pacl se sie mwet suwoswos el sun ongoiya, Ku sie mwet wangin mwata el wotla liki sou lal?
“Remember, now, who ever perished, being innocent? Or where were the upright cut off?
8 Nga liye tari ke mwet uh ac taknelik orekma sesuwos, In ima lun ma koluk; Na elos ac kosrani pac sesuwos ac ma koluk.
According to what I have seen, those who plough iniquity and sow trouble, reap the same.
9 In kasrkusrak lun God, El kunauselosla oana sie paka.
By the breath of God they perish. By the blast of his anger are they consumed.
10 Mwet koluk elos kou ac wowo oana lion uh, Tuh God El kutongulosi ac kotala wihselos.
The roaring of the lion, and the voice of the fierce lion, the teeth of the young lions, are broken.
11 Oana luman lion su wangin ma elan uniya ac kang, Elos ac misa, ac tulik natulos nukewa fahsrelik.
The old lion perishes for lack of prey. The cubs of the lioness are scattered abroad.
12 “Sie pacl ah oasr kas se tuku kakasrisrikna; Aok arulana srikla pusra, apkuranna ngan tia ku in lohng.
“Now a thing was secretly brought to me. My ear received a whisper of it.
13 Pusra se inge lusrongla motul luk ah oana sie mweme koluk. Nga rarrar,
In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falls on men,
14 Ac monuk nufon usrusryak ke sangeng.
fear came on me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake.
15 Sie engyeng na srisrik ukya mutuk, Ac monuk nufon tuninmihsrisrla ke sangeng.
Then a spirit passed before my face. The hair of my flesh stood up.
16 Nga liye lah oasr ma se tu insac; A nga ne ngetang nu kac, nga tia ku in akilen lah mea se. Mihsna in pacl sac, ac nga lohng sie pusra kasla, fahk mu:
It stood still, but I couldn’t discern its appearance. A form was before my eyes. Silence, then I heard a voice, saying,
17 ‘Ya sie mwet ku in suwoswos ye mutun God? Ya mwet se ku in nasnasna ye mutun El su oralla?
‘Shall mortal man be more just than God? Shall a man be more pure than his Maker?
18 God El tia lulalfongi mwet kulansap lal inkusrao. Finne lipufan uh, El konauk lah oasr pac ma elos sufalla kac.
Behold, he puts no trust in his servants. He charges his angels with error.
19 Kom nunku mu El ku in lulalfongi sie ma su orekla ke fohk kle, Sie ma orekla ke fohk, su fisrasr in itungyuki oana sie srenyuhu?
How much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, who are crushed before the moth!
20 Sahp sie mwet ac ku in moul ke lotutang uh, A ekela na el misa, wangin eteya.
Between morning and evening they are destroyed. They perish forever without any regarding it.
21 Ma lal nukewa ac itukla lukel; El ac misa, a srakna wangin etauk in el.’
Isn’t their tent cord plucked up within them? They die, and that without wisdom.’
