Ezekiel 20

In the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, some of the elders of Israel came to enquire of the LORD, and sat before me.
2 Na LEUM GOD El kaskas nu sik ac fahk,
The LORD’s word came to me, saying,
3 “Kom, mwet sukawil moul la, kaskas nu sin mwet inge ac fahkang lah nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk ouinge: Ya pwaye lah kowos tuku in siyuk ke ma lungse luk? Ke sripen nga pa God moul, nga ac tia lela kowos in siyuk kutena ma sik. Nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, pa fahk ma inge.
“Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Is it to enquire of me that you have come? As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “I will not be enquired of by you.”’
4 “Mwet sukawil, ya kom akola in oru nununku lom nu selos? Kwal, oru. Akesmakinyalos ke orekma srungayuk papa matu tumalos ah tuh oru.
“Will you judge them, son of man? Will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers.
5 Fahkang nu selos ma nga fahk inge. Ke pacl se nga tuh sulela Israel ah, nga tuh orala sie wulela yorolos, ac nga sifacna fahkyuyak nu selos in facl Egypt. Nga tuh fahk mu: Nga pa LEUM GOD lowos.
Tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the offspring of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, ‘I am the LORD your God;’
6 Na nga wulela nu selos mu nga fah usalosme liki fahl Egypt ac kololosla nu in sie facl su nga sulela in ma lalos, sie facl mut ac kasrup fohk we, sie facl su wo liki facl nukewa.
in that day I swore to them to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.
7 Nga tuh fahk elos in sisla ma sruloala srungayuk ma elos lungse, ac in tia akfohkfokyalos ke elos alu nu sin god sutuu lun Egypt, mweyen nga pa LEUM GOD lalos.
I said to them, ‘Each of you throw away the abominations of his eyes. Don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt. I am the LORD your God.’
8 Tuh pa elos pilesreyu ac tia lungse lohngyu. Elos tia sisla ma sruloala srungayuk lalos, ku fuhleak god lun mwet Egypt. Nga tuh akola in sang elos in pula nufon fulen kasrkusrak luk nu selos.
“‘“But they rebelled against me and wouldn’t listen to me. They didn’t all throw away the abominations of their eyes. They also didn’t forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the middle of the land of Egypt.
9 Tuh nga tiana oru, mweyen ac tuh akkolukye Inek, ke sripen nga tuh fahkak nu sin mwet Israel ye mutun mwet elos muta inmasrlo lah nga ac fah usalosla liki acn Egypt.
But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations amongst which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.
10 “Ouinge nga usalosla liki acn Egypt nu yen mwesis.
So I caused them to go out of the land of Egypt and brought them into the wilderness.
11 Nga sang ma sap luk nu selos ac lotelos oakwuk luk, su ac sang moul nu selos nukewa su akos.
I gave them my statutes and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he will live in them.
12 Nga orala tuh karinginyen len Sabbath luk in sie mwe akul ke wulela inmasrlosr, in akesmakinyalos lah nga, LEUM GOD, pa oru elos mutal.
Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD who sanctifies them.
13 Tusruktu elos pilesreyu pac yen mwesis. Elos kunausla ma sap luk ac srunga oakwuk luk, su ac sang moul nu selos nukewa su akos. Elos arulana aklusrongtenye len Sabbath, na nga akola in sang elos in pulakin kasrkusrak upa luk ingo yen mwesis, ac in kunauselosla.
“‘“But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness. They didn’t walk in my statutes and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keeps, he shall live in them. They greatly profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands,
16 Nga orala fulahk sac mweyen elos srunga oru ma nga sapkin, ac kunausla ma sap luk, ac aklusrongtenye len Sabbath — elos lungse alu nu ke ma sruloala lalos liki in alu nu sik.
because they rejected my ordinances, and didn’t walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths; for their heart went after their idols.
17 “Tusruktu, nga tuh pakomutalos, ac sulela ngan tia onelosla ke elos muta yen mwesis.
Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn’t destroy them. I didn’t make a full end of them in the wilderness.
18 Ouinge nga sensenkakin mwet fusr inmasrlolos ac fahk, ‘Nik kowos orekmakin ma sap ma orekla sin mwet matu lowos, ac nimet fahsr tukun ouiya koluk lalos, ku sifacna akfohkfokye kowos ke ma sruloala lalos.
I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers. Don’t observe their ordinances or defile yourselves with their idols.
19 Nga LEUM GOD lowos. Kowos in akos ma sap luk ac oakwuk luk.
I am the LORD your God. Walk in my statutes, keep my ordinances, and do them.
20 Akmutalye len Sabbath, tuh in sie akul ke wuleang inmasrlok ac kowos, tuh kowos fah etu lah nga LEUM GOD lowos.
Make my Sabbaths holy. They shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’
21 “Tusruktu fwil sac oayapa likkeke lainyu. Elos seakos ma sap luk ac tia oru oakwuk luk su ac sang moul nu selos nukewa su akos. Elos aklusrongtenye len Sabbath, pwanang nga tuh akola in oru elos in pula kuiyen kasrkusrak luk uh ke elos oasr yen mwesis, ac in onelosi nufon.
“‘“But the children rebelled against me. They didn’t walk in my statutes, and didn’t keep my ordinances to do them, which if a man does, he shall live in them. They profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.
22 Tuh nga tiana orala, mweyen ac tuh akpusiselye Inek ye mutun mutunfacl su liye ke nga usalosme mwet Israel liki facl Egypt.
Nevertheless I withdrew my hand and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.
23 Na nga sifilpa orala sie wulela yen mwesis uh. Nga wuleang mu nga ac akfahsryeloselik nu fin faclu nufon.
Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them amongst the nations and disperse them through the countries,
24 Nga oru ouinge mweyen elos srunga oru ma nga sapkin, ac seakos ma sap luk, ac aklusrongtenye len Sabbath, ac alu nu ke ma sruloala ma mwet matu lalos tuh kulansupu.
because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.
25 “Ouinge nga sang nu selos ma sap su tia wo, ac oakwuk su ac tia sang moul nu selos.
Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they couldn’t live.
26 Nga fuhleang nu selos in sifacna akfohkfokye moul lalos ke mwe sang lalos, ac nga lela elos in kisakin wen se emeet natulos. Ma inge ma in kalyaelos ac in akkalemye nu selos lah nga pa LEUM GOD.
I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused all that opens the womb to pass through the fire, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the LORD.”’
27 “Ke ma inge, mwet sukawil, fahk nu sin mwet Israel ma nga, LEUM GOD Fulatlana, fahk nu selos: Pa inge sie pac lumah ma papa matu tumalos uh akkasrkusrakyeyu kac ke elos tia moul suwohs ye mutuk.
“Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Moreover, in this your fathers have blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.
28 Nga usalosme nu in facl se su nga wuleang mu nga ac sang lalos. Ke elos liye tohktok fulat ac sak folfol insroa, elos orek kisa in acn inge nukewa. Elos oru nga kasrkusrak ke mwe kisa firir, ac mwe sang lalos, ac mwe kisa keng, ac wain ma elos use tuh in mwe kisa lalos nu sik.
For when I had brought them into the land which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering. There they also made their pleasant aroma, and there they poured out their drink offerings.

Then I said to them, ‘What does the high place where you go mean?’ So its name is called Bamah to this day.”’
30 Inge fahkang nu sin mwet Israel ma nga fahk uh: Efu ku kowos sifil oru ma koluk ma mwet matu lowos uh tuh oru, ac ukwe na ma sruloala lalos?
“Therefore tell the house of Israel, ‘The Lord GOD says: “Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? Do you play the prostitute after their abominations?
31 Nwe misenge kowos srakna oru mwe sang ma mwet matu lowos oru meet ah, ac sifacna akfohkfokye kowos ke kowos alu nu ke ma sruloala ac kisai tulik nutuwos in e. Na kowos mwet Israel tiana tui in siyuk ke ma lungse luk! Ke sripen nga LEUM GOD Fulatlana ac nga pa God moul, nga fah tia lela kowos in siyuk kutena ma sik.
When you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? Should I be enquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord GOD, I will not be enquired of by you!

“‘“That which comes into your mind will not be at all, in that you say, ‘We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.’
33 “Ke sripen nga pa LEUM GOD Fulatlana ac nga God moul, nga akkalemye nu suwos lah in kasrkusrak luk, nga asroela pouk ac leum fowos ke ku luk nufon.
As I live,” says the Lord GOD, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, I will be king over you.
34 Nga ac fahkak ku luk ac kasrkusrak luk nu suwos ke nga ac uskowoseni, ac folokinkowosme liki facl nukewa su kowos fahsrelik we.
I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out.

I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgement with you face to face.
36 LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “Nga ac nununkekowos in oana ke nga tuh nununku papa matu tomowos yen mwesis in acn Sinai.”
Just as I entered into judgement with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgement with you,” says the Lord GOD.
37 “Nga fah oru kolyuk ku luk fowos, ac oru kowos in akos wuleang luk.
“I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant.

I will purge out from amongst you the rebels and those who disobey me. I will bring them out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.”
39 LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk, “Inge, kowos mwet Israel nukewa, fahsrot kulansupu ma sruloala lowos! Tuh nga fahkot lah tukun ma inge kowos enenu in akosyu, ac tia sifil akpusiselye Ine mutal luk ke kowos us mwe sang lowos nu ke ma sruloala lowos.
“‘As for you, house of Israel, the Lord GOD says: “Go, everyone serve his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but you shall no more profane my holy name with your gifts and with your idols.
40 Ingo, fineol fulat ac mutal sik in acn Israel, kowos mwet Israel nukewa ac fah alu nu sik we. Nga ac fah insewowo suwos, ac nga fah soano tuh kowos in use mwe kisa lowos, ac mwe sang wolana ac mutal lowos nu sik.
For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “there all the house of Israel, all of them, shall serve me in the land. There I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

I will accept you as a pleasant aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered. I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.
42 Ke nga folokinkowosme nu in facl Israel, facl se su nga tuh wuleang mu nga ac sang lun papa matu tomowos, na kowos ac fah etu lah nga pa LEUM GOD.
You will know that I am the LORD when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.
43 Kowos ac fah esamak ouiya koluk nukewa ma kowos oru ac akfohkfokye kowos sifacna kac. Kowos ac sifacna srungakowos ke sripen ma koluk nukewa kowos orala.
There you will remember your ways, and all your deeds in which you have polluted yourselves. Then you will loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.
44 Ouiya ma nga ac oru nu suwos mwet Israel, ac tia fal nu ke orekma koluk lowos, a ac fah fal nu ke Ine mutal luk. Ke ma inge kowos ac fah etu lah nga LEUM GOD.” LEUM GOD Fulatlana pa fahk ma inge.
You will know that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel,” says the Lord GOD.’”
45 LEUM GOD El fahk nu sik,
The LORD’s word came to me, saying,

“Son of man, set your face towards the south, and preach towards the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the south.
47 Fahk nu ke insak lun acn eir in lohng ma LEUM GOD Fulatlana El fahk uh: Liye, nga fah tanak sie e, su ac fah esukak sak nukewa sunom, finne ma moul ku ma masla. Wangin kutena ma ac ku in konela. Ac fah fahsrelik layen eir me nwe ke sun layen epang, ac mwet nukewa ac pula fulen fol kac.
Tell the forest of the south, ‘Hear the LORD’s word: The Lord GOD says, “Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it will devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree. The burning flame will not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north will be burnt by it.
48 Elos nukewa ac liye lah nga, LEUM GOD, pa tanak e sac, ac wangin sie ku in konela.”
All flesh will see that I, the LORD, have kindled it. It will not be quenched.”’”
49 Tusruktu, nga tia insese nu kac, na nga fahk, “LEUM GOD Fulatlana, nimet supweyu in fahkak kas ingan! Mwet nukewa tukakinyu mu elos tiana kalem ke kas in pupulyuk luk.”
Then I said, “Ah Lord GOD! They say of me, ‘Isn’t he a speaker of parables?’”
