< Deuteronomy 23 >

No man injured by crushing or cutting off may enter the assembly of Yahweh.
2 “Wangin temti, ku kutena sin fwilin tulik natul nu ke fwil aksingoul, fah ku in oaoala nu ke mwet lun LEUM GOD.
No illegitimate child may belong to the assembly of Yahweh; as far as to the tenth generation of his descendants, none of them may belong to the assembly of Yahweh.
3 “Wangin mwet Amon ku mwet Moab, ku kutena sin fwilin tulik natulos nwe ke fwil aksingoul, ku in oaoala nu ke mwet lun LEUM GOD,
An Ammonite or a Moabite may not belong to the assembly of Yahweh; as far as to the tenth generation of his descendants, none of them may belong to the assembly of Yahweh.
4 mweyen elos tuh srunga kite kowos mwe mongo ac kof ke fufahsryesr lowos ke kowos ilme liki facl Egypt, ac elos moleang nu sel Balaam wen natul Beor, liki siti Pethor in acn Mesopotamia, elan selngawi kowos.
This is because they did not meet you with bread and with water on the road when you had come out of Egypt, and because they hired against you Balaam son of Beor from Pethor in Aram Naharaim, to curse you.
5 Tusruktu LEUM GOD lowos El tia porongal Balaam, a El ekulla mwe selnga sac nu ke sie mwe insewowo, ke sripen El lungse kowos.
But Yahweh your God would not listen to Balaam; instead, Yahweh your God turned the curse into a blessing for you, because Yahweh your God loved you.
6 Ke lusen pacl kowos oaoa in sie mutunfacl, kowos in tia oru kutena ma in kasru mutunfacl luo inge, ku oru elos in kapkapak.
You must never seek their peace or prosperity, during all your days.
7 “Nimet srunga mwet Edom, mweyen elos sou lowos. Oayapa nimet srunga mwet Egypt, mweyen sie pacl ah kowos tuh muta fin acn selos.
You must not detest an Edomite, for he is your brother; you must not abhor an Egyptian, because you were a foreigner in his land.
8 Mutawauk ke fwil se aktolu me, fwilin tulik natulos ac ku in oaoayang nu inmasrlon mwet lun LEUM GOD.
The descendants of the third generation that are born to them may belong to the assembly of Yahweh.
9 “Ke pacl kowos mutangan aktuktuk ke pacl in mweun uh, kowos fah karingin kowos liki kutena ouiya fohkfok.
When you march out as an army against your enemies, then you must keep yourselves from every evil thing.
10 Mukul se fin tia nasnas ke sripen el sororia ke mweme koluk lal ke fong, el enenu in illa liki nien aktuktuk ac muta lik ah.
If there is among you any man who is unclean because of what happened to him at night, then he must go out of the army's camp; he must not come back into the camp.
11 Ke apkuran ekela ke len tok ah el fah oululla, ac ke faht uh tili el ku in foloko nu in nien aktuktuk uh.
When evening comes, he must bathe himself in water; when the sun goes down, he will come back inside the camp.
12 “Akola sie acn likin nien aktuktuk in orekmakin oana sie nien fahsr.
You must have a place also outside the camp to which you will go;
13 Us soko sak in pukpuk wi kom, tuh ke pacl se kom enenu in fahsr tok, kom fah pukanak sie luf ac afinya.
and you will have something among your tools to dig with; when you squat down to relieve yourself, you must dig with it and then put back the earth and cover up what has come out from you.
14 Liyaung tuh nien aktuktuk suwos in nasnas pacl nukewa, mweyen LEUM GOD lowos El wi kowos in nien aktuktuk suwos, in loange kowos ac sot kutangla nu suwos fin mwet lokoalok lowos. Kowos in tia oru kutena lumah fohkfok ma ac pwanang LEUM GOD lowos Elan forla liki kowos.
For Yahweh your God walks in the midst of your camp to give you victory and to give your enemies into your hand. Therefore your camp must be holy, so that he may not see any unclean thing among you and turn away from you.
15 “Fin oasr mwet kohs kaingla liki mwet kacto lalos ac tuku nu yuruwos tuh kowos in loangelosla, nik kowos folokunulosla.
You must not give back to his master a slave who has escaped from his master.
16 Elos ku in muta in kutena siti suwos ma elos sulela, ac kowos in tia sulallal nu selos.
Let him live with you, in whatever town he chooses. Do not oppress him.
17 “Wangin mwet Israel, mukul ku mutan, fah orek kosro in eis moul kac oana ma mwet pegan elos oru in tempul lalos.
There must be no cultic prostitute among any of the daughters of Israel, neither must there be a cultic prostitute among the sons of Israel.
18 Oayapa, wangin mani kowos eis ke ouiya se inge fah utuku nu in lohm sin LEUM GOD lowos in akfalye sie wuleang. LEUM GOD El srunga mwet su muta in nien alu lun mwet pegan ac orek kosro in eis moul kac.
You must not bring the wages of a prostitute or the wages of a dog into the house of Yahweh your God for any vow; for both these are abominations to Yahweh your God.
19 “Pacl se kom sang mani, ku mwe mongo ku kutena ma, nu sin sie mwet Israel wiom, kom in tia eis ma laesla.
You must not lend on interest to your fellow Israelite—interest of money, interest of food, or the interest of anything that is lent on interest.
20 Kom ku in siyuk ma laesla ke ma kom sang nu sin sie mwetsac, a tia ke ma kom sang nu sin mwet Israel wiom. Akos oakwuk se inge, ac LEUM GOD lom fah akinsewowoye ma nukewa kom oru fin facl se ma kom ac utyak ac oakwuki we.
To a foreigner you may lend on interest; but to your fellow Israelite you must not lend on interest, so that Yahweh your God may bless you in all that you put your hand to, in the land which you are going in to possess.
21 “Ke kom oru sie wulela ku nu sin LEUM GOD lom, nik kom pahtlac in akfalye ma kom wulela kac. LEUM GOD El ac soano tuh kom in akfalye wuleang lom. Kom fin tia akfalyela, kom orekma koluk.
When you make a vow to Yahweh your God, you must not be slow in fulfilling it, for Yahweh your God will surely require it of you; it would be sin for you not to fulfill it.
22 Tia ma koluk se kom fin tia orek wulela nu sin LEUM GOD,
But if you will refrain from making a vow, it will be no sin for you.
23 tusruktu kom fin sifacna lungse oru sie wuleang, esam na lah kom enenu na in akfalye.
That which has gone out from your lips you must observe and do; according as you have vowed to Yahweh your God, anything that you have freely promised with your mouth.
24 “Ke kom fahsr sasla inima in grape lun siena mwet, kom ku in kang grape uh ke na lungse lom. Tusruktu kom fin illa liki, nimet us kutena grape ke mwe neinyuk lom.
When you go into your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you desire, but do not put any in your basket.
25 Ke kom fahsr sasla inima in wheat lun siena mwet, kom ku in kang kutena fiten wheat ma kom olela ke poum, tusruktu kom fah tia sang mitmit nutum an pakela wheat an.
When you go into your neighbor's ripe grain, you may pluck the heads of grain with your hand, but do not put a sickle to your neighbor's ripe grain.
