< Luo Samuel 20 >

1 In pacl se inge oasr sie mwet lusrongten in acn Gilgal — inel pa Sheba wen natul Bikri, ac el ma in sruf lal Benjamin. El ukya mwe ukuk ac wowoyak ac fahk, “Sisella David! Kut ac tia welul! Mwet Israel nukewa, kut som nu yen sesr ah!”
And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name [was] Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjaminite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
2 Ouinge mwet Israel elos sisella David, ac welulla Sheba. A mwet Judah elos insese na yorol David, ac elos welul fahla Infacl Jordan lac nu Jerusalem.
So every man of Israel, withdrawing from David, followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah adhered to their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 Ke David el tuku nu lohm sin tokosra in acn Jerusalem, el orani mutan kulansap singoul kial ma el tuh filiya in liyaung inkul sel ah, ac eisalosyang nu inpoun mwet topang uh. El sang enenu lalos, tuh el tia oan yorolos. Elos muta kaul ac moul oana mutan katinmas ke lusen moul lalos.
And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women [his] concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in custody, and fed them, but went not in to them. So they were shut up to the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 Ac tokosra el fahk nu sel Amasa, “Pangoneni mwet Judah ac welulos foloko nu inse inge ulela.”
Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble to me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
5 Amasa el som in pangnolos, tuh el tia foloko ke pacl se tokosra el tuh fahk nu sel ah.
So Amasa went to assemble [the men of] Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
6 Na tokosra el fahk nu sel Abishai, “Sheba el ac orek lokoalok nu sesr yohk lukel Absalom. Us mwet luk an ac fahsrot ukwal, elan ma tia utyak nu in siti oasr pot ku we pwanang kut ac kofla sruokilya.”
And David said to Abishai, Now shall Sheba the son of Bichri do us more harm than [did] Absalom: take thou thy lord's servants, and pursue him, lest he get for himself fortified cities, and escape us.
7 Ke ma inge, mwet lal Joab ac mwet topang oayapa mwet mweun nukewa saya, elos welul Abishai som liki acn Jerusalem in ukwal Sheba.
And there went out after him Joab's men, and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites, and all the mighty men: and they went out of Jerusalem, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
8 Ke elos sun eot lulap se in acn Gibeon, Amasa el sonolos. Joab el nukum nuknuk in mweun, ac cutlass se oan ke ma neinya sripsrip ke pel lal. Ke el fahsr nu meet, cutlass sac putatla.
When they [were] at the great stone which [is] in Gibeon, Amasa went before them. And Joab's garment that he had put on was girded to him, and upon it a girdle [with] a sword fastened upon his loins in its sheath; and as he went forth it fell out.
9 Joab el fahk nu sel Amasa, “Ma lik, kom fuka?” ac el sruokya alut lal ah ke lac po layot tuh elan ngok mutal.
And Joab said to Amasa, [Art] thou in health, my brother? And Joab took Amasa by the beard with the right hand to kiss him.
10 Amasa el tiana akola nu ke cutlass se ma Joab el sruokya ke lac paol lasa, na Joab el fakisya insial ac koanonsial raki nu infohk uh. Na el misa na insac, pwanang Joab el tia enenu in faksilya pacl luo. Na Joab ac Abishai tamulel lal, som in ukwal Sheba.
But Amasa took no heed to the sword that [was] in Joab's hand: so he smote him in the fifth [rib], and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. So Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.
11 Sie sin mwet lal Joab ah tui ke manol Amasa ac wola fahk, “Mwet nukewa su ma lal Joab ac David, fahsr tokol Joab!”
And one of Joab's men stood by him, and said, He that favoreth Joab, and he that [is] for David, [let him go] after Joab.
12 Manol Amasa afla ke srah ac oanna inkanek ah. Sie mwet lal Joab liye lah mwet uh fahsr tui ke mano sac, na el amakunla liki innek ah nu inimae, ac afinya ke kaot se.
And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway. And when the man saw that all the people stood still, he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field, and cast a cloth upon him, when he saw that every one that came by him stood still.
13 Tukun mano sac mokleyukla liki innek ah, na mwet nukewa fahsr tokol Joab in ukwal Sheba.
When he was removed out of the highway, all the people went on after Joab, to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri.
14 Sheba el fahsr alukela acn sin sruf nukewa lun Israel, ac tuku nu ke siti Abel Beth Maacah, ac mwet nukewa in sou lal Bikri elos toeni ac fahsr tokol nu in siti uh.
And he went through all the tribes of Israel to Abel, and to Beth-maachah, and all the Berites: and they were assembled, and went also after him.
15 Mwet lal Joab elos lohng lah Sheba el oasr we, na elos fahsreni kuhlusya siti sac. Elos sang fohk musaeak nien fanyak lalos nu fin pot we, ac mutawauk in pikin ye pot uh in raki.
And they came and besieged him in Abel of Beth-maachah, and they cast up a bank against the city, and it stood in the trench: and all the people that [were] with Joab battered the wall, to throw it down.
16 Oasr mutan lalmwetmet se in siti sac, su wowoyak fin pot ah, ac fahk, “Koasrlong! Lohng! Sap Joab elan fahsru. Nga ke sramsram nu sel.”
Then cried a wise woman out of the city, Hear, hear; say, I pray you, to Joab, Come near hither, that I may speak with thee.
And when he was come near to her, the woman said, [Art] thou Joab? And he answered, I [am he]. Then she said to him, Hear the words of thy handmaid. And he answered, I do hear.
18 Mutan sac fahk, “Oasr kas se lun mwet in pacl somla fahk mu, ‘Fahla eis top lom an in siti lun Abel’ — na pa ingan ma elos tuh oru.
Then she spoke, saying, They were wont to speak in old time, saying, They will surely ask [counsel] at Abel: and so they ended [the matter].
19 Siti se sesr inge siti na pwengpeng se. Yohk misla ac insese lasr nu sin tokosra lasr inmasrlon siti Israel nukewa. Efu kom ku srike in kunausla? Ku kom lungse akkolukyela ma lun LEUM GOD?”
I [am one of them that are] peaceable [and] faithful in Israel: thou seekest to destroy a city and a mother in Israel: why wilt thou swallow up the inheritance of the LORD?
20 Na Joab el topuk, “Mo! Tiana ku! Nga tia ku in akkolukye ku kunausla siti lowos uh!
And Joab answered and said, Far be it, far be it from me, that I should swallow up or destroy.
21 Tia pa ingan ma kut akoo. Oasr sie mukul, inel pa Sheba wen natul Bikri, el tuku liki eol uh in facl Ephraim, ac el mutawauk sie alein lainul Tokosra David. Usalu mwet se ingan, na nga fah som liki siti lowos uh.” Na mutan sac fahk, “Kut ac sisot sifal fin pot uh wot nu sum.”
The matter [is] not so: but a man of mount Ephraim, Sheba the son of Bichri by name, hath lifted up his hand against the king, [even] against David: deliver him only, and I will depart from the city. And the woman said to Joab, Behold, his head shall be thrown to thee over the wall.
22 Na el som nu yurin mwet in siti sac ac fahkak nunak lal nu selos, na elos pakela sifal Sheba ac sisla fin pot uh lac nu sel Joab. Joab el ukya mwe ukuk in akkalemye nu sin mwet lal elos in som liki siti uh, na elos folokla nu yen selos. Ac Joab el folokla nu Jerusalem nu yorol tokosra.
Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri, and cast [it] out to Joab. And he blew a trumpet, and they retired from the city, every man to his tent. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.
23 Joab el captain lun un mwet mweun lun Israel. Benaiah wen natul Jehoiada, pa liyaung un mwet topang lal David.
Now Joab [was] over all the host of Israel: and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada [was] over the Cherethites and over the Pelethites:
24 Adoniram pa liyaung orekma lun mwet kohs. Jehoshaphat wen natul Ahilud, pa karinganang ma simla.
And Adoram [was] over the tribute: and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud [was] recorder:
25 Sheva pa mwet sim inkul lun tokosra. Zadok ac Abiathar pa mwet tol.
And Sheva [was] scribe: and Zadok and Abiathar [were] the priests:
26 Ac Ira, sie mwet liki siti Jair, el oayapa sie sin mwet tol lal David.
And Ira also the Jairite was a chief ruler about David.
