< Sie Samuel 21 >

1 David el som nu yorol Ahimelech, mwet tol in acn Nob. Ahimelech el rarrar ke el illa in sonol David, ac el siyuk sel David, “Efu ku kom mukena tuku nu inge?”
Then came David to Nob to Ahimelech the priest: and Ahimelech was afraid at the meeting of David, and said to him, Why art thou alone, and no man with thee?
2 Ac David el fahk, “Nga tuku ke sap lal tokosra. El mu nga in tia fahk nu sin kutena mwet ma el supweyu in oru uh. A funu mwet luk uh, oasr sie acn nga fahkang nu selos elos in sunyu we.
And David said to Ahimelech the priest, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said to me, Let no man know any thing of the business about which I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place.
3 Na fuka, oasr mwe mongo yurum? Ase limekosr lof in bread an, ac kutepacna ma oasr yurum.”
Now therefore what is under thy hand? give me five loaves of bread in my hand, or what there is present.
4 Na mwet tol sac fahk, “Wangin bread yuruk sayen bread mutal mukena. Tuh kom ku in eis, mwet lom ingan fin tia muta yurin mutan ke pacl fototo somla.”
And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under my hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
5 Ac David el fahk, “Ke mukuikui nukewa lasr, mwet luk inge elos taranulos tuh elos in nasnas fal nu ke alu lasr, ac inge elos oru yohk liki, mweyen kut fahsr ke sie sripa na yohk!”
And David answered the priest, and said to him, Of a truth women have been kept from us about these three days, since I came out, and the vessels of the young men are holy, and the bread is in a manner common, yea, though it were sanctified this day in the vessel.
6 Ke ma inge mwet tol sac sang bread mutal nu sel David, ke sripen wangin pac bread saya yorol, a bread inge ma sriyukla nu sin God, su tufahna itukla liki tepu mutal ac ayaolla ke bread sasu.
So the priest gave him hallowed bread: for there was no bread there but the showbread, that was taken from before the LORD, to put hot bread in the day when it was taken away.
7 (Doeg, sie mwet Edom su sifen un mwet liyaung kosro natul Saul, el muta ingo in len sac ke sripen el enenu in akfalye sie ma kunal ke alu.)
Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chief of the herdmen that belonged to Saul.
8 David el siyuk sel Ahimelech, “Oasr osra in fakfuk ku cutlass yurum kom ku in se nu sik? Elya lal tokosra nu sik oru nga tiana us cutlass nutik ah, ku kutena mwe mweun luk.”
And David said to Ahimelech, And is there not here under thy hand a spear or sword? for I have neither brought my sword nor my weapons with me, because the king’s business required haste.
And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod: if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other except that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it to me.
10 Na David el som. El kaing lukel Saul ac som nu yorol Achish, tokosra lun Gath.
And David arose, and fled that day for fear of Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath.
11 Mwet pwapa lal Tokosra Achish elos fahk nu sel, “Ku tia David pa inge, tokosra lun mutunfacl sel ah? Pa inge mwet se ma mutan uh onkakin ac fahk, ‘Saul el uniya tausin, a David el uniya ngoul tausin.’”
And the servants of Achish said to him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands?
12 Kas lalos inge arulana mokle nunak lal David, oru el arulana sangeng sel Tokosra Achish.
And David laid up these words in his heart, and was greatly afraid of Achish the king of Gath.
13 Na pa pacl nukewa mwet inge fin tuku apkuran nu yorol David, el ac orala lumahl oana in mwet wel se. Elos fin srike in kutongilya el ac lofongla. El ac muta kulaus mutunpot in siti uh, ac ani lal uh pasrkeya alut lal uh.
And he changed his behaviour before them, and pretended to be mad in their hands, and made marks on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.
14 Na Tokosra Achish el fahk nu sin mwet pwapa lal, “Liye, mwet se inge el wel! Efu kowos ku usalu nu yuruk?
Then said Achish to his servants, Lo, ye see the man is mad: why then have ye brought him to me?
15 Ya tia oasr tari mwet wel yenu, na mwe mea kowos in sifilpa use sie in orekma lofong ac aklokoalokyeyu inkul sik sifacna?”
Have I need of mad men, that ye have brought this fellow to play the mad man in my presence? shall this fellow come into my house?
