ಲೂಕನು 16
1 ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: “ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಿದ್ದನು, ಅವನಿಗಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನು ಅವನ ಸರಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾರೋ ದೂರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And he also said to his disciples, There was a certain rich man who had a manager, and this man was accused to him as squandering things possessed by him.
2 ಆಗ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ಆ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, ‘ಇದೇನು ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಳುವುದು? ನಿನ್ನ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು. ನೀನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನಾಗಿರಲು ಆಗಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದನು.
And having called him, he said to him, What is this I hear about thee? Render the account of thy management, for thou can no longer manage.
3 “ಆಗ ಆ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ, ‘ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಲಿ? ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲಾ. ಅಗೆಯಲು ನನಗೆ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಲ್ಲ, ಭಿಕ್ಷೆ ಬೇಡಲು ನನಗೆ ನಾಚಿಕೆ.
And the manager said within himself, What shall I do because my lord takes away the management from me? I am not able to dig. I am ashamed to beg.
4 ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಜನರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ, ನಾನು ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದದ್ದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು’ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.
I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from the management they may receive me into their houses.
5 “ಹೀಗೆ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಸಾಲಗಾರರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಮೊದಲನೆಯವನಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಸಾಲವೆಷ್ಟು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,
And having summoned each one of his lord's debtors, he said to the first, How much do thou owe to my lord?
6 “‘ಅವನು, 3,000 ಲೀಟರ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆ,’ ಎಂದನು. “ಆಗ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನು, ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಲ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ, ಬೇಗ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು 1,500 ಲೀಟರ್ ಎಂದು ಬರೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And he said, A hundred measures of olive oil. And he said to him, Receive thy document, and having sat down, quickly write fifty.
7 “ಬಳಿಕ ಅವನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನಿಗೆ, ‘ನೀನೆಷ್ಟು ಸಾಲ ತೀರಿಸಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, “30 ‘ಟನ್ ಗೋಧಿ,’ ಎಂದನು. “ಆಗ ಅವನು, ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಸಾಲ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು 24 ಟನ್ ಎಂದು ಬರೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
Next he said to another, And how much do thou owe? And he said, A hundred measures of wheat. And he says to him, Receive thy document, and write eighty.
8 “ಆಗ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಆ ಅಪನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತ ನಿರ್ವಾಹಕನು ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಹೊಗಳಿದನು. ಯೇಸು ಮುಂದುವರಿಸಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: ಈ ಲೋಕದ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯವರಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗಿಂತ ಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. (aiōn g165)
And his lord commended the unrighteous manager because he did shrewdly. Because the sons of this age are shrewder in their own generation than the sons of the light. (aiōn g165)
9 ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಲೌಕಿಕ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ. ಅದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋದಾಗ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿತ್ಯ ನಿವಾಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು. (aiōnios g166)
And I say to you, make friends for yourselves from the mammon of unrighteousness, so that, when ye cease, they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. (aiōnios g166)
10 “ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರುವವರು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರುವರು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರುವವರು ಬಹಳವಾದದ್ದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಅಪನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರುವರು.
The man faithful in the least is faithful also in much, and the man unrighteous in the least is unrighteous also in much.
11 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಲೌಕಿಕ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿ ಇರದಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಿಜವಾದ ಧನವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು?
If therefore ye did not become faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will entrust to you what is true?
12 ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿ ಇರದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಯಾರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು?
And if ye did not become faithful in the alien, who will give thine to you?
13 “ಯಾವ ಸೇವಕನೂ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯಜಮಾನರಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಲಾರನು. ಅವನು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸಿ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವನು. ಇಲ್ಲವೆ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವನು. ನೀವು ದೇವರಿಗೂ ಧನಕ್ಕೂ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡಲಾರಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
14 ಆಗ ಹಣದಾಶೆಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರು, ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
And the Pharisees, being lovers of money, heard all these things, and they sneered him.
15 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ಮುಂದೆ ನೀತಿಕರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು, ಆದರೆ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವೆಂದು ಎಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂಥದ್ದು ದೇವರ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
And he said to them, Ye are those who declare yourselves righteous in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. Because what is lofty among men is an abomination in the sight of God.
16 “ಮೋಶೆಯ ನಿಯಮವೂ ಪ್ರವಾದನೆಗಳೂ ಯೋಹಾನನವರೆಗೆ ಇದ್ದವು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ, ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಸಾರಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಬಲವಂತದಿಂದ ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
The law and the prophets were until John. From that time the kingdom of God is proclaimed good news, and every man in it is treated aggressively.
17 ನಿಯಮದ ಒಂದು ಚುಕ್ಕೆಯು ಬಿದ್ದುಹೋಗುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಆಕಾಶವೂ ಭೂಮಿಯೂ ಅಳಿದುಹೋಗುವುದು ಸುಲಭ.
But it is easier for the heaven and the earth to pass away, than for one tittle of the law to fall.
18 “ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಯಾವನು ಗಂಡ ಬಿಟ್ಟವಳನ್ನು ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾನೋ ಅವನು ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ.”
Every man who divorces his wife and marries another, commits adultery, and every man who marries her who has been divorced from a husband commits adultery.
19 ಅನಂತರ ಯೇಸು ಹೀಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯ ಹೇಳಿದರು, “ಬಹು ಬೆಲೆಬಾಳುವ ಹಾಗೂ ನಯವಾದ ನಾರುಮಡಿ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ಭೋಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಡಂಭರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಬಾಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಧನವಂತನಿದ್ದನು.
Now there was a certain rich man, and he was clothed in purple and fine linen, faring sumptuously daily.
20 ಅವನ ಬಾಗಿಲಲ್ಲಿ, ಮೈತುಂಬಾ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳಿದ್ದ ಲಾಜರನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಬಿದ್ದಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.
But there was a certain poor man named Lazarus, who had been placed near his gate, covered with sores,
21 ಧನವಂತನ ಮೇಜಿನಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವ ರೊಟ್ಟಿತುಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಲಾಜರನು ಹಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಾಯಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಕ್ಕುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.
and longing to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man's table. But even the dogs that came licked his sores.
22 “ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಆ ಭಿಕ್ಷುಕನು ಸತ್ತುಹೋದನು. ದೇವದೂತರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು. ಧನವಂತನು ಸಹ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದನು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಶವಸಂಸ್ಕಾರವಾಯಿತು.
And it came to pass for the poor man to die and be carried by the agents to Abraham's bosom. And the rich man also died and was buried.
23 ಅವನು ಪಾತಾಳದಲ್ಲಿ, ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲಕ್ಕೆತ್ತಿ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಎದೆಗೆ ಒರಗಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಲಾಜರನನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡನು. (Hadēs g86)
And having lifted up his eyes in Hades, being in torments, he sees Abraham from afar and Lazarus by his bosom. (Hadēs g86)
24 ಆಗ ಧನವಂತನು, ‘ತಂದೆಯೇ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು. ಲಾಜರನು ತನ್ನ ತುದಿಬೆರಳನ್ನು ನೀರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿ, ನನ್ನ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ತಣ್ಣಗೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸು, ಈ ಅಗ್ನಿಜ್ವಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
And having cried out, he said, Father Abraham, be merciful to me, and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this flame.
25 “ಆದರೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು, ‘ಮಗನೇ, ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವುಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ, ಲಾಜರನು ಕೆಟ್ಟವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ, ಈಗ ಅವನು ಆದರಣೆ ಹೊಂದುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನೀನು ಯಾತನೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀ.
But Abraham said, Child, remember that thou in thy lifetime received thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things. But now here he is comforted and thou are in agony.
26 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ದಾಟಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ದಾಟದ ಹಾಗೆಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದಿರುವವರು ಬಾರದಂತೆಯೂ ನಮಗೂ ನಿಮಗೂ ನಡುವೆ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಅಂತರ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿದೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
And besides all these things, between us and you a great chasm is fixed, so that those here who want to cross over to you are not able, nor may those go across from there to us.
27 “ಆಗ ಅವನು, ‘ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ನೀನು ಲಾಜರನನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಮನೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
And he said, I beg thee therefore, father, that thou would send him to my father's house,
28 ನನಗೆ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರೂ ಈ ಯಾತನೆಯ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಲಾಜರನು ಅವರನ್ನು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಸಲಿ,’ ಎಂದನು.
for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 “ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳಿವೆ; ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿ,’ ಎಂದನು.
But Abraham says to him, They have Moses and the prophets. Let them hear them.
30 “ಆಗ ಅವನು, ‘ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ, ತಂದೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನೇ, ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಜೀವಂತವಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಅವರು ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪ ಪಡುವರು,’ ಎಂದನು.
And he said, No, father Abraham, but if some man would go to them from the dead they will repent.
31 “ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ಮೋಶೆಯು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನೇ ಅವರು ಕೇಳದೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಸತ್ತವರೊಳಗಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎದ್ದರೂ ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.”
And he said to him, If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if some man would rise from the dead.
