ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 34
1 ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ನೆಬೂಕದ್ನೆಚ್ಚರನೂ ಅವನ ಸೈನ್ಯವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅವನ ಆಡಳಿತದ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೂ ಅದರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ವಾಕ್ಯವೇನೆಂದರೆ:
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people fought against Jerusalem, and against all its cities, saying,
2 “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ: ‘ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡುವನು.
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:
3 ನೀನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯೊಳಗಿಂದ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿಯಲಾಗಿ, ಅವನ ಕೈವಶವಾಗುವೆ. ನೀವು ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವಿರಿ. ಅವನು ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುವನು. ನೀನು ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಿ.
And thou shalt not escape from his hand, but shalt surely be taken, and delivered into his hand; and thy eyes shall behold the eyes of the king of Babylon, and he shall speak with thee mouth to mouth, and thou shalt go to Babylon.
4 “‘ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳು. ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ನೀನು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ಸಾಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD concerning thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword:
5 ನೀನು ಶಾಂತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ಸಾಯುವೆ. ನಿನಗಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು ಆಳಿದ ನಿನ್ನ ಪಿತೃಗಳಾದ ಅರಸರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಬೆಂಕಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತಿಸಿದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ನಿನಗೂ ಹಾಕುವರು. “ಅಯ್ಯೋ, ಒಡೆಯನೇ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಿನಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಗೋಳಾಡುವರು. ನಾನೇ ಈ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.’”
[But] thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who were before thee, so shall they burn [odors] for thee; and they will lament thee, [saying], Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
6 ಆಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Then Jeremiah the prophet spoke all these words to Zedekiah king of Judah in Jerusalem,
7 ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೂ ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೂ ಎಂದರೆ, ಲಾಕೀಷಿಗೂ ಅಜೇಕಕ್ಕೂ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದಾಗಲೇ ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕೋಟೆಯುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳು ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದವು.
When the king of Babylon's army fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that were left, against Lachish, and against Azekah: for these fortified cities remained of the cities of Judah.
8 ಗುಲಾಮರಿಗೆ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಘೋಷಿಸಲು ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಾತು ಬಂದಿತು.
[This is] the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people who [were] at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty to them;
9 ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಂಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಹಿಬ್ರಿಯ ಗುಲಾಮರನ್ನು ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನೂ ಮುಕ್ತಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು. ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಾದ ಸಹೋದರ ಸಹೋದರಿಯರನ್ನು ಯಾರೂ ಬಂಧನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿಲ್ಲ.
That every man should liberate his man-servant, and every man his maid-servant, [being] a Hebrew or a Hebrewess; that none should retain them in service, [to wit], a Jew his brother.
10 ಆಗ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿದ ಪ್ರಧಾನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದಾಸದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅವರು ಒಪ್ಪಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
Now when all the princes, and all the people who had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should liberate his man-servant, and every one his maid-servant, that none should retain them in service any more, then they obeyed, and let [them] go.
11 ಆದರೆ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿದರು ಮತ್ತು ಅವರು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಗುಲಾಮರನ್ನು ಮರಳಿ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಗುಲಾಮರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.
But afterwards they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had liberated, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids.
12 ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಂದ ಉಂಟಾಗಿ:
Therefore the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
13 “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ದಾಸರ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿ,
Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; I made a covenant with your fathers in the day that I brought them forth from the land of Egypt, out of the house of bond-men, saying,
14 ‘ಏಳು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬನು ತನಗೆ ಜೀತದಾಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಾದ ಹಿಬ್ರಿಯನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದೂ, ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಆರು ವರ್ಷ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕು,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು. ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
At the end of seven years dismiss ye every man his brother a Hebrew, who hath been sold to thee; and when he hath served thee six years, thou shalt let him go free from thee: but your fathers hearkened not to me, neither inclined their ear.
15 ನೀವೋ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಮನಮರುಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನಿಮ್ಮ ನೆರೆಹೊರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸರಿಯಾದದ್ದನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ. ನನ್ನ ಹೆಸರಿನಿಂದ ಖ್ಯಾತಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ನನ್ನ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ.
And ye had now turned, and had done right in my sight, in proclaiming liberty every man to his neighbor; and ye had made a covenant before me in the house which is called by my name:
16 ಆದರೆ ಆಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರಿ. ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದವರನ್ನು ಪುನಃ ದಾಸದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ಶೋಷಣೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿ, ನನ್ನ ನಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿ ತಂದಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
But ye turned and profaned my name, and caused every man his servant, and every man his handmaid, whom he had set at liberty at their pleasure, to return, and brought them into subjection, to be to you for servants and for handmaids.
17 “ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ: ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತನ್ನ ಸಹೋದರನಿಗೂ, ಪ್ರತಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನ್ನ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೂ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ನನಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಖಡ್ಗ, ಬರ, ವ್ಯಾಧಿ ಇವುಗಳಿಗಾಗಿಯೇ ನಿಮಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.
Therefore thus saith the LORD; Ye have not hearkened to me, in proclaiming liberty, every one to his brother, and every man to his neighbor: behold, I proclaim a liberty for you, saith the LORD, to the sword, to the pestilence, and to the famine; and I will make you to be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
18 ನನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೂ, ಕರುವನ್ನೂ ಎರಡು ಭಾಗಮಾಡಿ, ಅದರ ತುಂಡುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸದೆ ಇರುವವರನ್ನೂ,
And I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, who have not performed the words of the covenant which they had made before me, when they cut the calf in two, and passed between the parts of it,
19 ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ, ಕಂಚುಕಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನೂ, ಕರುವಿನ ತುಂಡುಗಳ ನಡುವೆ ದಾಟಿಹೋದ ದೇಶದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ,
The princes of Judah, and the princes of Jerusalem, the eunuchs, and the priests, and all the people of the land, who passed between the parts of the calf;
20 ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು. ಅವರ ಹೆಣಗಳು ಆಕಾಶದ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಹಾರವಾಗುವುವು.
I will even give them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life: and their dead bodies shall be for food to the fowls of the heaven, and to the beasts of the earth.
21 “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ ಅವರ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಅವರ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವವರ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಗಿರುವ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವೆನು.
And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes I will give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of them that seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which are gone up from you.
22 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಅವರು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸುಡುವರು ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಹಾಳಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.”
Behold, I will command, saith the LORD, and cause them to return to this city; and they shall fight against it, and take it, and burn it with fire: and I will make the cities of Judah a desolation without an inhabitant.
