ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 3

1 ೧ ಕಂದಾ, ನನ್ನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬೇಡ, ನನ್ನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮನಃಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳು.

My son, mine instruction, do not thou forget, and, my commandment, let thy heart observe;

2 ೨ ಅವು ನಿನ್ನ ದಿನಗಳನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಆಯುಷ್ಯವನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧಿಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ನಿನಗೆ ಸುಕ್ಷೇಮವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವವು.

For, length of days and years of life, and blessedness, shall they add to thee.

3 ೩ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಸತ್ಯತೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡದಿರಲಿ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟು, ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದ ಹಲಗೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರೆ.

Lovingkindness and faithfulness, let them not forsake thee, —bind them, upon thy neck, write them upon the tablet of thy heart:

4 ೪ ಇದರಿಂದ ನೀನು ದೇವರ ಮತ್ತು ಮನುಷ್ಯರ ದಯೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಸಮ್ಮತಿಯನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿ.

So find thou favour and good repute, in the eyes of God and man.

5 ೫ ಸ್ವಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೇ ಆಧಾರಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಪೂರ್ಣಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡು.

Trust thou in Yahweh, with all thy heart, and, unto thine own understanding, do not lean:

6 ೬ ನಿನ್ನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಡವಳಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆತನ ಚಿತ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಧೇಯನಾಗಿರು; ಆತನೇ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಾಗಮಾಡುವನು.

In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and, he, will make straight thy paths.

7 ೭ ನೀನೇ ಬುದ್ಧಿವಂತನು ಎಂದೆಣಿಸದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು ಕೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ತೊರೆದುಬಿಡು.

Do not become wise in thine own eyes, revere Yahweh, and avoid evil:

8 ೮ ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನ ದೇಹಕ್ಕೆ ಆರೋಗ್ಯವೂ, ಎಲುಬುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾರವೂ ಉಂಟಾಗುವವು.

Healing, shall it be to thy body, and refreshing, to thy bones.

9 ೯ ನಿನ್ನ ಆದಾಯದಿಂದಲೂ, ಬೆಳೆಯ ಪ್ರಥಮಫಲದಿಂದಲೂ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸು.

Honour thou Yahweh, with thy substance, and with the firstfruit of all thine increase;

10 ೧೦ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಕಣಜಗಳು ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬುವವು, ತೊಟ್ಟಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ತುಂಬಿ ತುಳುಕುವುದು.

So shall thy storehouses be filled with plenty, and, with new wine, shall thy vats overflow.

11 ೧೧ ಮಗನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಸಾರ ಮಾಡಬೇಡ. ಆತನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವಾಗ ಬೇಸರಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.

The, chastening of Yahweh, my son, do not reject, nor loathe his rebuke;

12 ೧೨ ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಮುದ್ದುಮಗನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಾನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವವನನ್ನೇ ಗದರಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ.

For, whom Yahweh loveth, he correcteth, he causeth pain to the son in whom he delighteth.

13 ೧೩ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವವನು ಧನ್ಯನು, ವಿವೇಕವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವವನು ಭಾಗ್ಯವಂತನು.

How happy the man who hath found wisdom, and the man who draweth forth understanding,

14 ೧೪ ಅದರ ಲಾಭವು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ಲಾಭಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ, ಅದರಿಂದಾಗುವ ಆದಾಯವು ಬಂಗಾರಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವೇ ಸರಿ.

For better is her merchandise, than the merchandise of silver, yea, than gold, her increase;

15 ೧೫ ಅದರ ಬೆಲೆಯು ಹವಳಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು, ನಿನ್ನ ಇಷ್ಟವಸ್ತುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಮವಲ್ಲ.

More precious, is she, than corals, yea, none of thy delightful things, doth equal her:

16 ೧೬ ಜ್ಞಾನವೆಂಬಾಕೆಯ ಬಲಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೀರ್ಘಾಯುಷ್ಯವೂ, ಎಡಗೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಧನವೂ, ಘನತೆಯೂ ಉಂಟು.

Length of days, is in her right hand, in her left, are riches and honour;

17 ೧೭ ಆಕೆಯ ದಾರಿಗಳು ಸುಖಕರವಾಗಿವೆ, ಆಕೆಯ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಮಾಧಾನವೇ.

Her ways, are ways of pleasantness, and, all her paths, are peace;

18 ೧೮ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರಿಗೆ ಜೀವವೃಕ್ಷವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ಧನ್ಯನು.

A tree of life, is she, to them who secure her, —and, they who hold her fast, are every one to be pronounced happy.

19 ೧೯ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಮೂಲಕ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ವಿವೇಕದ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಆಕಾಶಮಂಡಲವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

Yahweh, in wisdom, founded the earth, establishing the heavens with understanding;

20 ೨೦ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕೆಳಗಿನ ಸಾಗರವು ಒಡೆದದ್ದಕ್ಕೂ, ಆಕಾಶವು ಇಬ್ಬನಿಯನ್ನು ಸುರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಆತನ ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯೇ ಸಾಧನ.

By his knowledge, the resounding deeps were burst open, and, the skies, drop down dew.

21 ೨೧ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ಸುಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ ಭದ್ರವಾಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೋ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯು ಅವುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ತಪ್ಪದೇ ಇರಲಿ.

My son, let them not depart from thine eyes, guard thou counsel, and purpose:

22 ೨೨ ಅವು ನಿನಗೆ ಜೀವವೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಕೊರಳಿಗೆ ಭೂಷಣವೂ ಆಗಿರುವವು.

So shall they become life to thy soul, and an adorning to thy neck;

23 ೨೩ ಆಗ ನೀನು ಎಡವದೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಭಯವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವಿ.

Then, shalt thou walk securely in thy way, and, thy foot, shall not stumble;

24 ೨೪ ನೀನು ಮಲಗುವಾಗ ಹೆದರಿಕೆ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಮಲಗಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುಖವಾಗಿ ನಿದ್ರೆಮಾಡುವಿ.

When thou sittest down, thou shalt have no dread, yea thou shalt lie down, and sweet shall be thy sleep.

25 ೨೫ ಪಕ್ಕನೆ ಬರುವ ಅಪಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ದುಷ್ಟರಿಗೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ ನಾಶನಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ನೀನು ಅಂಜುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.

Be not thou afraid of sudden dread, nor of the desolation of the lawless, when it cometh.

26 ೨೬ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಭರವಸಕ್ಕೆ ಆಧಾರನಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಿನ್ನ ಕಾಲು ಮೋಸದ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕದಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡುವನು.

For, Yahweh, will be in all thy ways, and will keep thy foot from the snare.

27 ೨೭ ಉಪಕಾರಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವಾಗ ಹೊಂದತಕ್ಕವರಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಡ.

Withhold not good from them who ask it, when it is in power of thy hand to do it:

28 ೨೮ ಕೊಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೆ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾ, ನಾಳೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಡ.

Do not say to thy neighbour, Go and come again, and to-morrow I will give, when thou hast it by thee.

29 ೨೯ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬಾರದು, ಅವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನಲ್ಲವೇ?

Devise not against thy neighbour an injury, seeing that, he, dwelleth securely by thee.

30 ೩೦ ನಿನಗೆ ಅಪಕಾರ ಮಾಡದವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಜಗಳವಾಡಬೇಡ.

Contend not with a man without cause, if he hath dealt thee no wrong.

31 ೩೧ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡದಿರು, ಅವನ ನಡತೆಯನ್ನು ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಡ.

Do not thou envy the man of violence, neither choose thou any of his ways;

32 ೩೨ ವಕ್ರಬುದ್ಧಿಯವನು ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯನು, ಯಥಾರ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಆತನ ಸ್ನೇಹವು ದೊರೆಯುವುದು.

For, an abomination to Yahweh, is the tortuous man, but, with the upright, he is intimate.

33 ೩೩ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದುಷ್ಟನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಶಪಿಸುವನು, ನೀತಿವಂತರ ನಿವಾಸವನ್ನೋ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವನು.

The curse of Yahweh, is in the house of the lawless one, but, the home of the righteous, he blesseth.

34 ೩೪ ಯಾರು ಧರ್ಮವನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವರೋ ಅವರನ್ನು ಆತನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವನು. ದೀನರಿಗಾದರೋ ತನ್ನ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಗ್ರಹಿಸುವನು.

Though at scoffers he scoffeth, yet, to the humbled, he granteth favour.

35 ೩೫ ಜ್ಞಾನವಂತರು ಸನ್ಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯರಾಗುವರು, ಜ್ಞಾನಹೀನರಿಗಾಗುವ ಬಹುಮಾನವು ಅವಮಾನವೇ.

Honour, shall the wise inherit, —but, as for dullards, shame shall carry them away.
