Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim, a Zuphite of the hill country of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Toah, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite.
2 Hagi Elkana'a tare a' zanante'neankino magomofo agi'a Hanaki, magomo'a Penina'e. Hagi Penina'a mofavrea ante'neanki, Hana'a mofavre onte'ne.
And he had two wives; the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of other Peninnah. And Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.
3 Hagi mago mago kafurera Elkana'a a' mofavre'a zamavareno atruhu seli mono noma Sailo me'nerega vuno, Hanavenentake Ra Anumzamofontera monora ome nehuno kresramana vutere hu'ne. Hagi ana knafina Ra Anumzamofo pristi nera Eli mani'neankino, tare mofavre'amokizni zanagi'a Hofanie'ene Finiasike. Hagi zanagra neznafana aza huke ana knafina pristi eri'zana eri'na'e.
This man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice to YHWH of hosts in Shiloh. The two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, priests of YHWH, were there.
4 Hagi Elkana'ma ofama erino'ma egezama kresramnama vazanknarera Peninane maka ne'mofa'anena ana ofafintira ame'a refako huno zamitere hu'ne.
When the day came that Elkanah sacrificed, he gave to Peninnah his wife, and to all her sons and her daughters, portions:
5 Hianagi Hanana Ra Anumzamo'a rimpa erigigeno mofavrea onte'neanagi, Elkana'a avesinteno ante agofetu huno ofama nehifintira rama'a zantami amitere hu'ne.
but to Hannah he gave a double portion; for he loved Hannah, but YHWH had shut up her womb.
6 Hagi Ra Anumzamo'ma Hanama rimpama erigigeno mofavrema onte'nea zankura Penina'a kiza zokago ke hunteno, maka knafina azeri haviza hutere higeno, rimpamo'a ata negrigeno asunku zampi Hana'a manitere hu'ne.
Her rival taunted her severely, to irritate her, because YHWH had shut up her womb.
7 Hagi kafune kafunema Ra Anumzamofo seli mono nontegama vuterema nehazageno'a, Penina'a Hanana ana kege huntetere nehuno, arimpa eri haviza nehigeno Hana'a zaviraneteno ne'zana onetere hu'ne.
As he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of YHWH, so she taunted her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
8 Ana'ma higeno'a neve' Elkana'a amanage hu'ne, Nahigenka ne'zana a'o nehankeno krimpa haviza nehigenka zavira netane? Kagra 10ni'a Mofavre antegahananagi antahintahikafina nagrikura kavesinantegahane.
Elkanah her husband said to her, "Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? Why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?"
So Hannah rose after eating and drinking in Shiloh, and stood before YHWH. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the temple of YHWH.
10 Hagi Hana'a rama'a asunku nehuno zavira neteno agu'areti huno Ra Anumzamofontega nunamuna nehuno,
She was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to YHWH, and wept bitterly.

Hagi ana mofavrema Ra Anumzamokare'ma azeri ruotge hu avame'zama mesiana, azokara oharetfa hugahie.
She vowed a vow, and said, "YHWH of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your handmaid, and remember me, and not forget your handmaid, but will give to your handmaid a son, then I will set him before you as a Nazirite until the day of his death. And he will not drink wine or strong drink, and no razor will come on his head."
12 Hagi Hanama antahintahifima nunamuma huno Ra Anumzamofoma antahinegegeno'a Eli'a ana a'mofo agipi keteno mani'ne.
It happened, as she multiplied prayers before YHWH, that Eli saw her mouth.
13 Hana'a antahintahifi nunamuna nehigeno, agi'mo'a kaza hianagi nunamuma hia agerura Eli'a ontahi'ne. Ana'ma hia zankura Eli'a agesama antahiana Hana'a akati ne'neno negi ne'negahie huno hu'ne.
And she was speaking in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk.
14 Anage nehuno Eli'a amanage hu'ne, Aka ti nenenka neginenananki aka tima nenanazana atro.
So Eli said to her, "How long will you make yourself drunk? Put away your wine from you."
15 Hianagi Hana'a kenona'a amanage hu'ne, ra ne'moka nagra anara osu'noanki, nagu'afina knaza me'nege'na ana knazani'a eri'na Ra Anumzamofontega eme huama nehue.
And Hannah answered, "No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but I poured out my soul before YHWH.
16 Hagi nagrikura havi are hunka kagesa antahionamio, nagra nasuzampine, nata zampi mani'ne'na nunamuna nehue.
Do not count your handmaid as a worthless woman; for I have been speaking out of the abundance of my distress and my anguish."
17 Higeno Eli'a kenona amanage hu'ne, Israeli vahe Anumzamo'a antahigana zana amane kamigahianki, krimpa fru nehunka vuo.
Then Eli answered, "Go in peace; and may the God of Israel grant your petition that you have asked of him."
18 Higeno Hana'a huno, ra ne'moka eri'za akamo'na antahinamio, huno Elina nesamino vuno ne'zana ome neneno, mago'ene asuzampina omani'ne.
She said, "Let your handmaid find favor in your sight." So the woman went her way, and entered her quarters, and ate; and her facial expression wasn't sad any more.
19 Hagi anante nanterana maka naga'mo'za oti'za Ra Anumzamofo avuga monora hute'za, ete kumazamirega Rama vu'naze. Hagi Elkana'a nenaro Hanana anteno masegeno, Ra Anumzamo'a Hana'ma nunamuma hu'nea zanku antahimi'ne.
They rose up in the morning early, and worshiped before YHWH, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and YHWH remembered her.
20 Ana higeno Hana'a amu'ene huno ne' mofavre kasenteno, Ra Anumzamofo antahigogeno namie nehuno, Samueli'e huno agi'a antemi'ne.
It happened, when the time had come, that Hannah conceived, and bore a son; and she named him Samuel, saying, "Because I have asked him of YHWH."

The man Elkanah, and all his house, went up to offer to YHWH the yearly sacrifice, and to redeem his vow and all the tithes of his land.
22 Hianagi Hana'a zamagranena marerino ovu nemanino amanage huno nevena asami'ne, Mofavremo'ma amima atresanige'na avre'na vanugeno Ra Anumzamofo nompi umani vava hugahie.
But Hannah did not go up; for she said to her husband, "Not until the child is weaned; then I will bring him, that he may appear before YHWH, and stay there forever."
23 Higeno Elkana'a kenona'a hunteno kagrama antahisankeno knare'ma haniaza hunka maninenka mofavre amina neminka azeri ra huo. Hagi mani'negeno Ra Anumzamofonte'ma huvempage hu'nana zana kazeri knare hanie. Higeno Hana'a ovu mani'neno mofavrea kegava huso'e nehigeno, ra huno amina atre'ne.
Elkanah her husband said to her, "Do what seems good in your eyes. Wait until you have weaned him; only may YHWH establish what you have said." So the woman waited and nursed her son, until she weaned him.
24 Hagi ana mofavremo'ma rama huno amima netregeno'a osi mofavre mani'neanagi nerera'a nevreno, 3'a kafu hu'nea bulimakaonki, 10ni'a kilo hu'nea flauaki, mago tafempi waini tina e'nerino, ana mofavrenena avreno Ra Anumzamofo nontega Sailo kumate marerino vu'ne.
And she went up with him to Shiloh with a three-year old bull, and bread, and one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of YHWH in Shiloh. And the child was with them. And they went before YHWH, and his father slaughtered the sacrifice, which he did annually to YHWH. And he brought the child,

and he slaughtered the bull. And Hannah, the mother of the child, brought him to Eli.

Therefore also I have lent him to YHWH. As long as he lives he is lent to YHWH." He worshiped YHWH there.
