ヨハネの黙示録 3

1 また、サルデスにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『神の七つの御霊、および七つの星を持つ方がこう言われる。「わたしは、あなたの行ないを知っている。あなたは、生きているとされているが、実は死んでいる。

“And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: “He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars says these things: “I know your works, that you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead.

2 目をさましなさい。そして死にかけているほかの人たちを力づけなさい。わたしは、あなたの行ないが、わたしの神の御前に全うされたとは見ていない。

Wake up and strengthen the things that remain, which you were about to throw away, for I have found no works of yours perfected before my God.

3 だから、あなたがどのように受け、また聞いたのかを思い出しなさい。それを堅く守り、また悔い改めなさい。もし、目をさまさなければ、わたしは盗人のように来る。あなたには、わたしがいつあなたのところに来るか、決してわからない。

Remember therefore how you have received and heard. Keep it and repent. If therefore you won’t watch, I will come as a thief, and you won’t know what hour I will come upon you.

4 しかし、サルデスには、その衣を汚さなかった者が幾人かいる。彼らは白い衣を着て、わたしとともに歩む。彼らはそれにふさわしい者だからである。

Nevertheless you have a few names in Sardis that didn’t defile their garments. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy.

5 勝利を得る者は、このように白い衣を着せられる。そして、わたしは、彼の名をいのちの書から消すようなことは決してしない。わたしは彼の名をわたしの父の御前と御使いたちの前で言い表わす。

He who overcomes will be arrayed in white garments, and I will in no way blot his name out of the book of life, and I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

6 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。」』

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

7 また、フィラデルフィヤにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。 『聖なる方、真実な方、ダビデのかぎを持っている方、彼が開くとだれも閉じる者がなく、彼が閉じるとだれも開く者がない、その方がこう言われる。

“To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:

8 「わたしは、あなたの行ないを知っている。見よ。わたしは、だれも閉じることのできない門を、あなたの前に開いておいた。なぜなら、あなたには少しばかりの力があって、わたしのことばを守り、わたしの名を否まなかったからである。

“I know your works (behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one can shut), that you have a little power, and kept my word, and didn’t deny my name.

9 見よ。サタンの会衆に属する者、すなわち、ユダヤ人だと自称しながら実はそうでなくて、うそを言っている者たちに、わたしはこうする。見よ。彼らをあなたの足もとに来てひれ伏させ、わたしがあなたを愛していることを知らせる。

Behold, I make some of the synagogue of Satan, of those who say they are Jews, and they are not, but lie—behold, I will make them to come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you.

10 あなたが、わたしの忍耐について言ったことばを守ったから、わたしも、地上に住む者たちを試みるために、全世界に来ようとしている試練の時には、あなたを守ろう。

Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

11 わたしは、すぐに来る。あなたの冠をだれにも奪われないように、あなたの持っているものをしっかりと持っていなさい。

I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown.

12 勝利を得る者を、わたしの神の聖所の柱としよう。彼はもはや決して外に出て行くことはない。わたしは彼の上にわたしの神の御名と、わたしの神の都、すなわち、わたしの神のもとを出て天から下って来る新しいエルサレムの名と、わたしの新しい名とを書きしるす。

He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.

13 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。」』

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.

14 また、ラオデキヤにある教会の御使いに書き送れ。『アーメンである方、忠実で、真実な証人、神に造られたものの根源である方がこう言われる。

“To the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: “The Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of God’s creation, says these things:

15 「わたしは、あなたの行ないを知っている。あなたは、冷たくもなく、熱くもない。わたしはむしろ、あなたが冷たいか、熱いかであってほしい。

“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or hot.

16 このように、あなたはなまぬるく、熱くも冷たくもないので、わたしの口からあなたを吐き出そう。

So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will vomit you out of my mouth.

17 あなたは、自分は富んでいる、豊かになった、乏しいものは何もないと言って、実は自分がみじめで、哀れで、貧しくて、盲目で、裸の者であることを知らない。

Because you say, ‘I am rich, and have gotten riches, and have need of nothing,’ and don’t know that you are the wretched one, miserable, poor, blind, and naked;

18 わたしはあなたに忠告する。豊かな者となるために、火で精練された金をわたしから買いなさい。また、あなたの裸の恥を現わさないために着る白い衣を買いなさい。また、目が見えるようになるため、目に塗る目薬を買いなさい。

I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, that you may become rich; and white garments, that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes, that you may see.

19 わたしは、愛する者をしかったり、懲らしめたりする。だから、熱心になって、悔い改めなさい。

As many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 見よ。わたしは、戸の外に立ってたたく。だれでも、わたしの声を聞いて戸をあけるなら、わたしは、彼のところにはいって、彼とともに食事をし、彼もわたしとともに食事をする。

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, then I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with me.

21 勝利を得る者を、わたしとともにわたしの座に着かせよう。それは、わたしが勝利を得て、わたしの父とともに父の御座に着いたのと同じである。

He who overcomes, I will give to him to sit down with me on my throne, as I also overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne.

22 耳のある者は御霊が諸教会に言われることを聞きなさい。」』」
