1 どうか、あなたは、わが母の乳ぶさを吸ったわが兄弟のようになってください。わたしがそとであなたに会うとき、あなたに口づけしても、だれもわたしをいやしめないでしょう。

O that you were as my brother, that sucked the breasts of my mother! when I should find you without, I would kiss you; yes, I should not be despised.

2 わたしはあなたを導いて、わが母の家に行き、わたしを産んだ者のへやにはいり、香料のはいったぶどう酒、ざくろの液を、あなたに飲ませましょう。

I would lead you, and bring you into my mother’s house, who would instruct me: I would cause you to drink of spiced wine of the juice of my pomegranate.

3 どうか、彼の左の手がわたしの頭の下にあり、右の手がわたしを抱いてくれるように。

His left hand should be under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.

4 エルサレムの娘たちよ、わたしはあなたがたに誓い、お願いする、愛のおのずから起るときまでは、ことさらに呼び起すことも、さますこともしないように。

I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you stir not up, nor awake my love, until he please.

5 自分の愛する者によりかかって、荒野から上って来る者はだれですか。りんごの木の下で、わたしはあなたを呼びさました。あなたの母上は、かしこで、あなたのために産みの苦しみをなし、あなたの産んだ者が、かしこで産みの苦しみをした。

Who is this that comes up from the wilderness, leaning on her beloved? I raised you up under the apple tree: there your mother brought you forth: there she brought you forth that bore you.

6 わたしをあなたの心に置いて印のようにし、あなたの腕に置いて印のようにしてください。愛は死のように強く、ねたみは墓のように残酷だからです。そのきらめきは火のきらめき、最もはげしい炎です。 (Sheol h7585)

Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which has a most vehement flame. (Sheol h7585)

7 愛は大水も消すことができない、洪水もおぼれさせることができない。もし人がその家の財産をことごとく与えて、愛に換えようとするならば、いたくいやしめられるでしょう。

Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if a man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be scorned.

8 わたしたちに小さい妹がある、まだ乳ぶさがない。わたしたちの妹に縁談のある日には、彼女のために何をしてやろうか。

We have a little sister, and she has no breasts: what shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?

9 彼女が城壁であるなら、その上に銀の塔を建てよう。彼女が戸であるなら、香柏の板でそれを囲もう。

If she be a wall, we will build on her a palace of silver: and if she be a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.

10 わたしは城壁、わたしの乳ぶさは、やぐらのようでありました。それでわたしは彼の目には、平和をもたらす者のようでありました。

I am a wall, and my breasts like towers: then was I in his eyes as one that found favor.

11 ソロモンはバアルハモンにぶどう園をもっていた。彼はぶどう園を、守る者どもにあずけて、おのおのその実のために銀一千を納めさせた。

Solomon had a vineyard at Baalhamon; he let out the vineyard to keepers; every one for the fruit thereof was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.

12 わたしのものであるぶどう園は、わたしの前にある。ソロモンよ、あなたは一千を獲るでしょう、その実を守る者どもは二百を獲るでしょう。

My vineyard, which is mine, is before me: you, O Solomon, must have a thousand, and those that keep the fruit thereof two hundred.

13 園の中に住む者よ、わたしの友だちはあなたの声に耳を傾けます、どうぞ、それをわたしに聞かせてください。

You that dwell in the gardens, the companions listen to your voice: cause me to hear it.

14 わが愛する者よ、急いでください。かんばしい山々の上で、かもしかのように、また若い雄じかのようになってください。

Make haste, my beloved, and be you like to a roe or to a young hart on the mountains of spices.
