詩篇 129

1 都もうでの歌 今イスラエルは言え、「彼らはわたしの若い時から、ひどくわたしを悩ました。

A Song of Ascents. 'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up', let Israel now say;

2 彼らはわたしの若い時から、ひどくわたしを悩ました。しかしわたしに勝つことができなかった。

'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up; but they have not prevailed against me.

3 耕す者はわたしの背の上をたがやして、そのうねみぞを長くした」と。

The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.

4 主は正しくいらせられ、悪しき者のなわを断ち切られた。

The LORD is righteous; He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.'

5 シオンを憎む者はみな、恥を得て、退くように。

Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all they that hate Zion.

6 彼らを、育たないさきに枯れる屋根の草のようにしてください。

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it springeth up;

7 これを刈る者はその手に満たず、これをたばねる者はそのふところに満たない。

Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.

8 かたわらを過ぎる者は、「主の恵みがあなたの上にあるように。われらは主のみ名によってあなたがたを祝福する」と言わない。

Neither do they that go by say: 'The blessing of the LORD be upon you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.'
