ヨハネの福音書 10
1 よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。羊の囲いにはいるのに、門からでなく、ほかの所からのりこえて来る者は、盗人であり、強盗である。
"Truly, truly, I tell you, one who does not enter by the door into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2 門からはいる者は、羊の羊飼である。
But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 門番は彼のために門を開き、羊は彼の声を聞く。そして彼は自分の羊の名をよんで連れ出す。
The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out.
4 自分の羊をみな出してしまうと、彼は羊の先頭に立って行く。羊はその声を知っているので、彼について行くのである。
Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
5 ほかの人には、ついて行かないで逃げ去る。その人の声を知らないからである」。
They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they do not know the voice of strangers."
6 イエスは彼らにこの比喩を話されたが、彼らは自分たちにお話しになっているのが何のことだか、わからなかった。
Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
7 そこで、イエスはまた言われた、「よくよくあなたがたに言っておく。わたしは羊の門である。
Jesus therefore said to them again, "Truly, truly, I tell you, I am the sheep's door.
8 わたしよりも前にきた人は、みな盗人であり、強盗である。羊は彼らに聞き従わなかった。
All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them.
9 わたしは門である。わたしをとおってはいる者は救われ、また出入りし、牧草にありつくであろう。
I am the door. If anyone enters in by me, he will be saved, and will go in and go out, and will find pasture.
10 盗人が来るのは、盗んだり、殺したり、滅ぼしたりするためにほかならない。わたしがきたのは、羊に命を得させ、豊かに得させるためである。
The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
11 わたしはよい羊飼である。よい羊飼は、羊のために命を捨てる。
I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
12 羊飼ではなく、羊が自分のものでもない雇人は、おおかみが来るのを見ると、羊をすてて逃げ去る。そして、おおかみは羊を奪い、また追い散らす。
He who is a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and runs away; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them.
13 彼は雇人であって、羊のことを心にかけていないからである。
And the hired hand flees because he is a hired hand and the sheep means nothing to him.
14 わたしはよい羊飼であって、わたしの羊を知り、わたしの羊はまた、わたしを知っている。
I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me;
15 それはちょうど、父がわたしを知っておられ、わたしが父を知っているのと同じである。そして、わたしは羊のために命を捨てるのである。
even as the Father knows me, and I know the Father. I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 わたしにはまた、この囲いにいない他の羊がある。わたしは彼らをも導かねばならない。彼らも、わたしの声に聞き従うであろう。そして、ついに一つの群れ、ひとりの羊飼となるであろう。
I have other sheep, which are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will hear my voice. They will become one flock with one shepherd.
17 父は、わたしが自分の命を捨てるから、わたしを愛して下さるのである。命を捨てるのは、それを再び得るためである。
Therefore the Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
18 だれかが、わたしからそれを取り去るのではない。わたしが、自分からそれを捨てるのである。わたしには、それを捨てる力があり、またそれを受ける力もある。これはわたしの父から授かった定めである」。
No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down by myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. I received this commandment from my Father."
19 これらの言葉を語られたため、ユダヤ人の間にまたも分争が生じた。
A division arose again among the Jewish people because of these words.
20 そのうちの多くの者が言った、「彼は悪霊に取りつかれて、気が狂っている。どうして、あなたがたはその言うことを聞くのか」。
Many of them said, "He has a demon, and is insane. Why do you listen to him?"
21 他の人々は言った、「それは悪霊に取りつかれた者の言葉ではない。悪霊は盲人の目をあけることができようか」。
Others said, "These are not the sayings of one possessed by a demon. It is not possible for a demon to open the eyes of the blind, is it?"
22 そのころ、エルサレムで宮きよめの祭が行われた。時は冬であった。
At that time Hanukkah took place in Jerusalem.
23 イエスは、宮の中にあるソロモンの廊を歩いておられた。
It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple, in Solomon's porch.
24 するとユダヤ人たちが、イエスを取り囲んで言った、「いつまでわたしたちを不安のままにしておくのか。あなたがキリストであるなら、そうとはっきり言っていただきたい」。
The Jewish leaders therefore came around him and said to him, "How long will you keep us in suspense? If you are the Christ, tell us plainly."
25 イエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしは話したのだが、あなたがたは信じようとしない。わたしの父の名によってしているすべてのわざが、わたしのことをあかししている。
Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in my Father's name, these testify about me.
26 あなたがたが信じないのは、わたしの羊でないからである。
But you do not believe, because you are not of my sheep.
27 わたしの羊はわたしの声に聞き従う。わたしは彼らを知っており、彼らはわたしについて来る。
As I said to you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
29 わたしの父がわたしに下さったものは、すべてにまさるものである。そしてだれも父のみ手から、それを奪い取ることはできない。
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.
30 わたしと父とは一つである」。
I and the Father are one."
31 そこでユダヤ人たちは、イエスを打ち殺そうとして、また石を取りあげた。
Therefore the Jewish leaders took up stones again to stone him.
32 するとイエスは彼らに答えられた、「わたしは、父による多くのよいわざを、あなたがたに示した。その中のどのわざのために、わたしを石で打ち殺そうとするのか」。
Jesus answered them, "I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of those works do you stone me?"
33 ユダヤ人たちは答えた、「あなたを石で殺そうとするのは、よいわざをしたからではなく、神を汚したからである。また、あなたは人間であるのに、自分を神としているからである」。
The Jewish leaders answered him, "We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God."
34 イエスは彼らに答えられた、「あなたがたの律法に、『わたしは言う、あなたがたは神々である』と書いてあるではないか。
Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, you are gods?'
35 神の言を託された人々が、神々といわれておるとすれば、（そして聖書の言は、すたることがあり得ない）
If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
36 父が聖別して、世につかわされた者が、『わたしは神の子である』と言ったからとて、どうして『あなたは神を汚す者だ』と言うのか。
do you say of him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You blaspheme,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God?'
37 もしわたしが父のわざを行わないとすれば、わたしを信じなくてもよい。
If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me.
38 しかし、もし行っているなら、たといわたしを信じなくても、わたしのわざを信じるがよい。そうすれば、父がわたしにおり、また、わたしが父におることを知って悟るであろう」。
But if I do them, though you do not believe me, believe the works; that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father."
39 そこで、彼らはまたイエスを捕えようとしたが、イエスは彼らの手をのがれて、去って行かれた。
Now they sought again to seize him, and he went out of their hand.
40 さて、イエスはまたヨルダンの向こう岸、すなわち、ヨハネが初めにバプテスマを授けていた所に行き、そこに滞在しておられた。
He went away again beyond the Jordan into the place where John was baptizing at first, and there he stayed.
41 多くの人々がイエスのところにきて、互に言った、「ヨハネはなんのしるしも行わなかったが、ヨハネがこのかたについて言ったことは、皆ほんとうであった」。
Many came to him. They said, "John indeed did no sign, but everything that John said about this man is true."
42 そして、そこで多くの者がイエスを信じた。
And many believed in him there.
