イザヤ書 19

1 エジプトについての託宣。見よ、主は速い雲に乗って、エジプトに来られる。エジプトのもろもろの偶像は、み前に震えおののき、エジプトびとの心は彼らのうちに溶け去る。

The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides on a swift cloud, and shall come into Egypt: and the idols of Egypt shall be moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in the middle of it.

2 わたしはエジプトびとを奮いたたせて、エジプトびとに逆らわせる。彼らはおのおのその兄弟に敵して戦い、おのおのその隣に敵し、町は町を攻め、国は国を攻める。

And I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians: and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom.

3 エジプトびとの魂は、彼らのうちにうせて、むなしくなる。わたしはその計りごとを破る。彼らは偶像および魔術師、巫子および魔法使に尋ね求める。

And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the middle thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards.

4 わたしはエジプトびとをきびしい主人の手に渡す、荒々しい王が彼らを治めると、主、万軍の主は言われる。

And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts.

5 ナイルの水はつき、川はかれてかわく。

And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up.

6 またその運河は臭いにおいを放ち、エジプトのナイルの支流はややに減ってかわき、葦とよしとは枯れはてる。

And they shall turn the rivers far away; and the brooks of defense shall be emptied and dried up: the reeds and flags shall wither.

7 ナイルのほとり、ナイルの岸には裸の所があり、ナイルのほとりにまいた物はことごとく枯れ、散らされて、うせ去る。

The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and every thing sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more.

8 漁夫は嘆き、すべてナイルにつりをたれる者は悲しみ、網を水のおもてにうつ者は衰える。

The fishers also shall mourn, and all they that cast angle into the brooks shall lament, and they that spread nets on the waters shall languish.

9 練った麻で物を造る者と、白布を織る者は恥じる。

Moreover they that work in fine flax, and they that weave networks, shall be confounded.

10 国の柱たる者は砕かれ、すべて雇われて働く者は嘆き悲しむ。

And they shall be broken in the purposes thereof, all that make sluices and ponds for fish.

11 ゾアンの君たちは全く愚かであり、パロの賢い議官らは愚かな計りごとをなす。あなたがたはどうしてパロにむかって「わたしは賢い者の子、いにしえの王の子です」と言うことができようか。

Surely the princes of Zoan are fools, the counsel of the wise counsellors of Pharaoh is become brutish: how say you to Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

12 あなたの賢い者はどこにおるか。彼らをして、万軍の主がエジプトについて定められたことをあなたに告げ知らしめよ。

Where are they? where are your wise men? and let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed on Egypt.

13 ゾアンの君たちは愚かとなり、メンピスの君たちは欺かれ、エジプトのもろもろの部族の隅の石たる彼らは、かえってエジプトを迷わせた。

The princes of Zoan are become fools, the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they that are the stay of the tribes thereof.

14 主は曲った心を彼らのうちに混ぜられた。彼らはエジプトをして、すべてその行うことに迷わせ、あたかも酔った人の物吐くときによろめくようにさせた。

The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in the middle thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

15 エジプトに対しては、頭あるいは尾、しゅろの枝あるいは葦が共になしうるわざはない。

Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.

16 その日、エジプトびとは女のようになり、万軍の主の彼らの上に振り動かされるみ手の前に恐れおののく。

In that day shall Egypt be like to women: and it shall be afraid and fear because of the shaking of the hand of the LORD of hosts, which he shakes over it.

17 ユダの地は、エジプトびとに恐れられ、ユダについて語り告げることを聞くエジプトびとはみな、万軍の主がエジプトびとにむかって定められた計りごとのゆえに恐れる。

And the land of Judah shall be a terror to Egypt, every one that makes mention thereof shall be afraid in himself, because of the counsel of the LORD of hosts, which he has determined against it.

18 その日、エジプトの地にカナンの国ことばを語り、また万軍の主に誓いを立てる五つの町があり、その中の一つは太陽の町ととなえられる。

In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the LORD of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.

19 その日、エジプトの国の中に主をまつる一つの祭壇があり、その境に主をまつる一つの柱がある。

In that day shall there be an altar to the LORD in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the LORD.

20 これはエジプトの国で万軍の主に、しるしとなり、あかしとなる。彼らがしえたげる者のゆえに、主に叫び求めるとき、主は救う者をつかわして、彼らを守り助けられる。

And it shall be for a sign and for a witness to the LORD of hosts in the land of Egypt: for they shall cry to the LORD because of the oppressors, and he shall send them a savior, and a great one, and he shall deliver them.

21 主はご自分をエジプトびとに知らせられる。その日、エジプトびとは主を知り、犠牲と供え物とをもって主に仕え、主に誓願をたててこれを果す。

And the LORD shall be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians shall know the LORD in that day, and shall do sacrifice and oblation; yes, they shall vow a vow to the LORD, and perform it.

22 主はエジプトを撃たれる。主はこれを撃たれるが、またいやされる。それゆえ彼らは主に帰る。主は彼らの願いをいれて、彼らをいやされる。

And the LORD shall smite Egypt: he shall smite and heal it: and they shall return even to the LORD, and he shall be entreated of them, and shall heal them.

23 その日、エジプトからアッスリヤに通う大路があって、アッスリヤびとはエジプトに、エジプトびとはアッスリヤに行き、エジプトびとはアッスリヤびとと共に主に仕える。

In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians shall serve with the Assyrians.

24 その日、イスラエルはエジプトとアッスリヤと共に三つ相並び、全地のうちで祝福をうけるものとなる。

In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, even a blessing in the middle of the land:

25 万軍の主は、これを祝福して言われる、「さいわいなるかな、わが民なるエジプト、わが手のわざなるアッスリヤ、わが嗣業なるイスラエル」と。

Whom the LORD of hosts shall bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.
