マルコの福音書 16
1 安息日が過ぎた時，マリア・マグダレネ，ヤコブの母マリア，それにサロメは，行って彼に油を塗ろうとして香料を買った。
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the [mother] of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
2 週の初めの日，非常に朝早く，日の昇るころ，彼女たちは墓にやって来た。
And very early in the morning, the first [day] of the week, they came to the sepulcher at the rising of the sun:
3 彼女たちは，「だれがわたしたちのために墓の入り口から石を転がしてくれるでしょう」と互いに言い合っていた。
And they said among themselves, Who shall roll away for us the stone from the door of the sepulcher?
4 その石は非常に大きかったからである。彼女たちが目を上げると，石が転がしてあるのが見えた。
(And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away) for it was very great.
5 墓の中に入ると，彼女たちは，白い衣を着た一人の若者が右側に座っているのを見て，ひどく驚いた。
And entering into the sepulcher, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were frightened.
6 若者は彼女たちに言った，「驚いてはいけない。あなた方ははりつけにされたナザレ人イエスを探している。彼は起こされた。ここにはいない。見よ，ここが彼の横たえられた場所だ！
And he saith to them, Be not frightened: ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him:
7 だが，行って，彼の弟子たちとペトロに，『彼はあなた方より先にガリラヤへ行く。彼があなた方に言われたとおりに，あなた方はそこで彼を見るだろう』と告げなさい」。
But go, tell his disciples and Peter, that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said to you.
8 彼女たちは出て行き，墓から逃げ出した。わななきと驚きが彼女たちの上に生じていたからである。彼女たちはだれにも，何も言わなかった。恐ろしかったからである。
And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulcher; for they trembled, and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any [man]; for they were afraid.

(note: The most reliable and earliest manuscripts do not include Mark 16:9-20.) Now when [Jesus] was risen early, the first [day] of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven demons.
10 彼女は行って，彼と共にいた者たちに告げたが，彼らは泣き悲しんでいるところであった。
[And] she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.
11 彼が生きていて彼女に現われたと聞いても，彼らは信じなかった。
And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen by her, believed not.
12 こうした事ののち，彼らのうちの二人が田舎に向かって歩いていると，彼は別の姿で現わされた。
After that, he appeared in another form to two of them, as they were walking and going into the country.
13 二人は戻って行って残りの者たちに告げた。彼らはこの二人の言うことも信じなかった。
And they went and told [it] to the residue: neither believed they them.
14 その後，彼は食卓に着いていた十一人に現わされて，彼らの不信仰と心のかたくなさをとがめた。生き返った彼を見た者たちの言うことを，彼らが信じなかったからである。
Afterward he appeared to the eleven, as they sat at table, and upbraided them with their unbelief, and hardness of heart, because they believed not them who had seen him after he was risen.
15 彼は彼らに言った，「全世界に出て行って，全創造物に福音を宣教しなさい。
And he said to them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 信じてバプテスマを受ける者は救われるが，信じない者は罪に定められるだろう。
He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 信じる者たちには次のようなしるしが伴うだろう。すなわち，彼らはわたしの名において悪霊たちを追い出し，新しい言語を語り，
And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out demons; they shall speak in new languages;
18 蛇をつかむだろう。また，何か死に至らせる物を飲んでも害を受けず，病気の人たちの上に手を置けば回復するだろう」 。
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
19 このようにして，主イエスは，彼らに語った後，天に上げられ，神の右に座った。
So then after the Lord had spoken to them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
20 彼らは出て行き，至る所で宣教をした。主は彼らと共に働き，伴うしるしによってみ言葉を強固にした。アーメン。
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
