使徒の働き 2
1 五旬節の日となり、彼らみな一處に集ひ居りしに、
And when the days of Pentecost were completed, they were all together in the same place.
2 烈しき風の吹ききたるごとき響、にはかに天より起りて、その坐する所の家に滿ち、
And suddenly, there came a sound from heaven, like that of a wind approaching violently, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting.
3 また火の如きもの舌のやうに現れ、分れて各人の上にとどまる。
And there appeared to them separate tongues, as if of fire, which settled upon each one of them.
4 彼らみな聖 靈にて滿され、御靈の宣べしむるままに異邦の言にて語りはじむ。
And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And they began to speak in various languages, just as the Holy Spirit bestowed eloquence to them.
5 時に敬虔なるユダヤ人ら、天下の國々より來りてエルサレムに住み居りしが、
Now there were Jews staying in Jerusalem, pious men from every nation that is under heaven.
6 この音おこりたれば群衆あつまり來り、おのおの己が國語にて使徒たちの語るを聞きて騷ぎ合ひ、
And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together and was confused in mind, because each one was listening to them speaking in his own language.
7 かつ驚き怪しみて言ふ『視よ、この語る者は皆ガリラヤ人ならずや、
Then all were astonished, and they wondered, saying: “Behold, are not all of these who are speaking Galileans?
8 如何にして我等おのおのの生れし國の言をきくか。
And how is it that we have each heard them in our own language, into which we were born?
9 我等はパルテヤ人、メヂヤ人、エラム人、またメソポタミヤ、ユダヤ、カパドキヤ、ポント、アジヤ、
Parthians and Medes and Elamites, and those who inhabit Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia,
10 フルギヤ、パンフリヤ、エジプト、リビヤのクレネに近き地方などに住む者、ロマよりの旅人――ユダヤ人および改宗者――
Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya which are around Cyrene, and new arrivals of the Romans,
11 クレテ人およびアラビヤ人なるに、我が國語にて彼らが神の大なる御業をかたるを聞かんとは』
likewise Jews and new converts, Cretans and Arabs: we have heard them speaking in our own languages the mighty deeds of God.”
12 みな驚き惑ひて互に言ふ『これ何事ぞ』
And they were all astonished, and they wondered, saying to one another: “But what does this mean?”
13 或 者どもは嘲りて言ふ『かれらは甘き葡萄酒にて滿されたり』
But others mockingly said, “These men are full of new wine.”
14 ここにペテロ十 一の使徒とともに立ち、聲を揚げ宣べて言ふ『ユダヤの人々および凡てエルサレムに住める者よ、汝 等わが言に耳を傾けて、この事を知れ。
But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and he spoke to them: “Men of Judea, and all those who are staying in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and incline your ears to my words.
15 今は朝の九時なれば、汝らの思ふごとく彼らは醉ひたるに非ず、
For these men are not inebriated, as you suppose, for it is the third hour of the day.
16 これは預言者ヨエルによりて言はれたる所なり。
But this is what was spoken of by the prophet Joel:
17 「神いひ給はく、末の世に至りて、我が靈を凡ての人に注がん。汝らの子 女は預言し、汝らの若者は幻影を見、なんぢらの老人は夢を見るべし。
‘And this shall be: in the last days, says the Lord, I will pour out, from my Spirit, upon all flesh. And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy. And your youths shall see visions, and your elders shall dream dreams.
18 その世に至りて、わが僕・婢女にわが靈を注がん、彼らは預言すべし。
And certainly, upon my men and women servants in those days, I will pour out from my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 われ上は天に不思議を、下は地に徴をあらはさん、即ち血と火と煙の氣とあるべし。
And I will bestow wonders in heaven above, and signs on earth below: blood and fire and the vapor of smoke.
20 主の大なる顯著しき日のきたる前に、日は闇に月は血に變らん。
The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, before the great and manifest day of the Lord arrives.
21 すべて主の御名を呼び頼む者は救はれん」
And this shall be: whoever shall invoke the name of the Lord will be saved.’
22 イスラエルの人々よ、これらの言を聽け。ナザレのイエスは、汝らの知るごとく、神かれに由りて汝らの中に行ひ給ひし能力ある業と不思議と徴とをもて、汝らに證し給へる人なり。
Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene is a man confirmed by God among you through the miracles and wonders and signs that God accomplished through him in your midst, just as you also know.
23 この人は神の定め給ひし御旨と、預じめ知り給ふ所とによりて付されしが、汝ら不法の人の手をもて釘磔にして殺せり。
This man, under the definitive plan and foreknowledge of God, was delivered by the hands of the unjust, afflicted, and put to death.
24 然れど神は死の苦難を解きて之を甦へらせ給へり。彼は死に繋がれをるべき者ならざりしなり。
And he whom God has raised up has broken the sorrows of Hell, for certainly it was impossible for him to be held by it. (questioned)
25 ダビデ彼につきて言ふ「われ常に我が前に主を見たり、我が動かされぬ爲に我が右に在せばなり。
For David said about him: ‘I foresaw the Lord always in my sight, for he is at my right hand, so that I may not be moved.
26 この故に我が心は樂しみ、我が舌は喜べり、かつ我が肉體もまた望の中に宿らん。
Because of this, my heart has rejoiced, and my tongue has exulted. Moreover, my flesh shall also rest in hope.
For you will not abandon my soul to Hell, nor will you allow your Holy One to see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
28 汝は生命の道を我に示し給へり、御顏の前にて我に勸喜を滿し給はん」
You have made known to me the ways of life. You will completely fill me with happiness by your presence.’
29 兄弟たちよ、先祖ダビデに就きて、われ憚らず汝らに言ふを得べし、彼は死にて葬られ、その墓は今日に至るまで我らの中にあり。
Noble brothers, permit me to speak freely to you about the Patriarch David: for he passed away and was buried, and his sepulcher is with us, even to this very day.
30 即ち彼は預言者にして、己の身より出づる者をおのれの座位に坐せしむることを、誓をもて神の約し給ひしを知り、
Therefore, he was a prophet, for he knew that God had sworn an oath to him about the fruit of his loins, about the One who would sit upon his throne.
Foreseeing this, he was speaking about the Resurrection of the Christ. For he was neither left behind in Hell, nor did his flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
32 神はこのイエスを甦へらせ給へり、我らは皆その證人なり。
This Jesus, God raised up again, and of this we are all witnesses.
33 イエスは神の右に擧げられ、約束の聖 靈を父より受けて、汝らの見 聞する此のものを注ぎ給ひしなり。
Therefore, being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the Promise of the Holy Spirit, he poured this out, just as you now see and hear.
34 それダビデは天に昇りしことなし、然れど自ら言ふ「主わが主に言ひ給ふ、
For David did not ascend into heaven. But he himself said: ‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand,
35 我なんぢの敵を汝の足臺となすまでは、わが右に坐せよ」と。
until I make your enemies your footstool.’
36 然ればイスラエルの全家は確と知るべきなり。汝らが十字架に釘けし此のイエスを、神は立てて主となし、キリストとなし給へり』
Therefore, may the entire house of Israel know most certainly that God has made this same Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”
37 人々これを聞きて心を刺され、ペテロと他の使徒たちとに言ふ『兄弟たちよ、我ら何をなすべきか』
Now when they had heard these things, they were contrite in heart, and they said to Peter and to the other Apostles: “What should we do, noble brothers?”
38 ペテロ答ふ『なんぢら悔改めて、おのおの罪の赦を得んために、イエス・キリストの名によりてバプテスマを受けよ、然らば聖 靈の賜物を受けん。
Yet truly, Peter said to them: “Do penance; and be baptized, each one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sins. And you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39 この約束は汝らと汝らの子らと、凡ての遠き者すなはち主なる我らの神の召し給ふ者とに屬くなり』
For the Promise is for you and for your sons, and for all who are far away: for whomever the Lord our God will have called.”
40 この他なほ多くの言をもて證し、かつ勸めて『この曲れる代より救ひ出されよ』と言へり。
And then, with very many other words, he testified and he exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this depraved generation.”
41 かくてペテロの言を聽納れし者はバプテスマを受く。この日、弟子に加はりたる者、おほよそ三 千 人なり。
Therefore, those who accepted his discourse were baptized. And about three thousand souls were added on that day.
42 彼らは使徒たちの教を受け、交際をなし、パンを擘き、祈祷をなすことを只管つとむ。
Now they were persevering in the doctrine of the Apostles, and in the communion of the breaking of the bread, and in the prayers.
43 ここに人みな敬畏を生じ、多くの不思議と徴とは使徒たちに由りて行はれたり。
And fear developed in every soul. Also, many miracles and signs were accomplished by the Apostles in Jerusalem. And there was a great awe in everyone.
44 信じたる者はみな偕に居りて諸般の物を共にし、
And then all who believed were together, and they held all things in common.
45 資産と所有とを賣り、各人の用に從ひて分け與へ、
They were selling their possessions and belongings, and dividing them to all, just as any of them had need.
46 日々、心を一つにして弛みなく宮に居り、家にてパンをさき、勸喜と眞心とをもて食事をなし、
Also, they continued, daily, to be of one accord in the temple and to break bread among the houses; and they took their meals with exultation and simplicity of heart,
47 神を讃美して一般の民に悦ばる。かくて主は救はるる者を日々かれらの中に加へ給へり。
praising God greatly, and holding favor with all the people. And every day, the Lord increased those who were being saved among them.
