列王記Ⅰ 22
1 スリアとイスラエルの間に戰爭なくして三年を經たり
They continued three years without war between Syria and Israel.
2 第三年にユダの王ヨシヤパテ、イスラエルの王の所に降れり
In the third year, Jehoshaphat the king of Judah came down to the king of Israel.
3 イスラエルの王其臣僕に言けるはギレアデのラモテは我儕の所有なるを爾等知や然るに我儕はスリアの王の手より之を取ることをせずして默しをるなり
The king of Israel said to his servants, “You know that Ramoth Gilead is ours, and we do nothing, and don’t take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?”
4 彼ヨシヤパテに言けるは爾我と共にギレアデのラモテに戰ひにゆくやヨシヤパテ、イスラエルの王にいひけるは我は爾のごとくわが民は爾の民の如くわが馬は爾の馬の如しと
He said to Jehoshaphat, “Will you go with me to battle to Ramoth Gilead?” Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”
5 ヨシヤパテ、イスラエルの王に言けるは請ふ今日ヱホバの言を問へ
Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please inquire first for Yahweh’s word.”
6 是においてイスラエルの王預言者四百人許を集めて之に言けるは我ギレアデのラモテに戰ひにゆくべきや又は罷べきや彼等曰けるは上るべし主之を王の手に付したまふべしと
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, “Should I go against Ramoth Gilead to battle, or should I refrain?” They said, “Go up; for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
7 ヨシヤパテ曰けるは外に我儕の由て問べきヱホバの預言者此にあらざるや
But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of Yahweh, that we may inquire of him?”
8 イスラエルの王ヨシヤパテに言けるは外にイムラの子ミカヤ一人あり之に由てヱホバに問ふことを得ん然ど彼は我に關て善事を預言せず唯惡事のみを預言すれば我彼を惡むなりとヨシヤパテ曰けるは王然言たまふなかれと
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may inquire of Yahweh, Micaiah the son of Imlah; but I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
9 是によりてイスラエルの王一箇の官吏を呼てイムラの子ミカヤを急ぎ來らしめよと言り
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Quickly get Micaiah the son of Imlah.”
10 イスラエルの王およびユダの王ヨシヤパテ朝衣を著てサマリアの門の入口の廣場に各其位に坐しゐたり預言者は皆其前に預言せり
Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah were sitting each on his throne, arrayed in their robes, in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
11 ケナアナの子ゼデキヤ鐵の角を造りて言けるはヱホバ斯言給ふ爾是等を以てスリア人を抵觸て之を盡すべしと
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron, and said, “Yahweh says, ‘With these you will push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
12 預言者皆斯預言して言ふギレアデのラモテに上りて勝利を獲たまへヱホバ之を王の手に付したまふべしと
All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper; for Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
13 茲にミカヤを召んとて往たる使者之に語りて言けるは預言者等の言一の口の如くにして王に善し請ふ汝の言を彼等の一人の言の如くならしめて善事を言へと
The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “See now, the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Please let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak good.”
14 ミカヤ曰けるはヱホバは生くヱホバの我に言たまふ事は我之を言んと
Micaiah said, “As Yahweh lives, what Yahweh says to me, that I will speak.”
15 かくて彼王に至るに王彼に言けるはミカヤよ我儕ギレアデのラモテに戰ひに往くべきや又は罷べきや彼王に言けるは上りて勝利を得たまへヱホバ之を王の手に付したまふべしと
When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall we forbear?” He answered him, “Go up and prosper; and Yahweh will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
16 王彼に言けるは我幾度汝を誓はせたらば汝ヱホバの名を以て唯眞實のみを我に告るや
The king said to him, “How many times do I have to adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in Yahweh’s name?”
17 彼言けるは我イスラエルの皆牧者なき羊のごとく山に散をるを見たるにヱホバ是等の者は主なし各安然に其家に歸るべしと言たまへりと
He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. Yahweh said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
18 イスラエルの王ヨシヤパテに言けるは我汝に彼は我について善き事を預言せず唯惡き事のみを預言すと告たるにあらすやと
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
19 ミカヤ言けるは然ば汝ヱホバの言を聽べし我ヱホバの其位に坐しゐたまひて天の萬軍の其傍に右左に立つを見たるに
Micaiah said, “Therefore hear Yahweh’s word. I saw Yahweh sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing by him on his right hand and on his left.
20 ヱホバ言たまひけるは誰かアハブを誘ひて彼をしてギレアデのラモテに上りて弊れしめんかと則ち一は此の如くせんと言ひ一は彼の如くせんといへり
Yahweh said, ‘Who will entice Ahab, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One said one thing, and another said another.
21 遂に一の霊進み出てヱホバの前に立ち我彼を誘はんと言ければ
A spirit came out and stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’
22 ヱホバ彼に何を以てするかと言たまふに我出て虚言を言ふ霊となりて其諸の預言者の口にあらんと言りヱホバ言たまひけるは汝は誘ひ亦之を成し遂ん出て然なすべしと
Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’ He said, ‘I will go out and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ He said, ‘You will entice him, and will also prevail. Go out and do so.’
23 故に視よヱホバ虚言を言ふ霊を爾の此諸の預言者の口に入たまへり又ヱホバ爾に關て災禍あらんことを言たまへりと
Now therefore, behold, Yahweh has put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these your prophets; and Yahweh has spoken evil concerning you.”
24 ケナアナの子ゼデキヤ近よりてミカヤの頬を批て言けるはヱホバの霊何途より我を離れゆきて爾に語ふや
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did Yahweh’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
25 ミカヤいひけるは爾奧の間に入て身を匿す日に見るにいたらん
Micaiah said, “Behold, you will see on that day when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
26 イスラエルの王言けるはミカヤを取て之を邑の宰アモンと王の子ヨアシに曳かへりて言ふべし
The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city and to Joash the king’s son.
27 王斯言ふ此を牢に置れて苦惱のパンと苦惱の水を以て之を養ひ我が平安に來るを待てと
Say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I come in peace.”’”
28 ミカヤ言けるは爾若眞に平安に歸るならばヱホバ我によりて言たまはざりしならん又曰けるは爾等民よ皆聽べし
Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, all you people!”
29 かくてイスラエルの王とユダの王ヨシヤパテ、ギレアデのラモテに上れり
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
30 イスラエルの王ヨシヤパテに言けるは我装を改て戰陣の中に入らん然ど爾は王衣を衣るべしとイスラエルの王装を改て戰陣の中にいりぬ
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself and go into the battle, but you put on your robes.” The king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle.
31 スリアの王其戰車の長三十二人に命じて言けるは爾等小者とも大者とも戰ふなかれ惟イスラエルの王とのみ戰へと
Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
32 戰車の長等ヨシヤパテを見て是必ずイスラエルの王ならんと言ひ身をめぐらして之と戰はんとしければヨシヤパテ號呼れり
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “Surely that is the king of Israel!” and they came over to fight against him. Jehoshaphat cried out.
33 戰車の長彼がイスラエルの王にあらざるを見しかば之を追ふことをやめて返れり
When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
34 茲に一個の人偶然弓を挽てイスラエルの王の胸當と艸摺の間を射たりければ彼其御者に言けるは我傷を受たれば爾の手を旋して我を軍中より出すべしと
A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armor. Therefore he said to the driver of his chariot, “Turn around, and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
35 是日戰爭嚴くなりぬ王は車の中に扶持られて立ちスリア人に對ひをりしが晩景にいたりて死たり創の血車の中に流る
The battle increased that day. The king was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians, and died at evening. The blood ran out of the wound into the bottom of the chariot.
36 日の沒る頃軍中に呼はりて曰ふあり各其邑に各其郷に歸るべしと
A cry went throughout the army about the going down of the sun, saying, “Every man to his city, and every man to his country!”
37 王死て携へられてサマリアに至りたれば衆人王をサマリアに葬れり
So the king died, and was brought to Samaria; and they buried the king in Samaria.
38 又其車をサマリアの池に濯ひけるに犬其血を舐たり又遊女其所に身をあらへりヱホバの言たまへる言の如し
They washed the chariot by the pool of Samaria; and the dogs licked up his blood where the prostitutes washed themselves, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke.
39 アハブの其餘の行爲と凡て其爲たる事と其建たる象牙の家と其建たる諸の邑はイスラエルの王の歴代志の書に記載るにあらずや
Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, and the ivory house which he built, and all the cities that he built, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
40 アハブ其父祖と共に寝りて其子アハジア之にかはりて王となれり
So Ahab slept with his fathers; and Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.
41 アサの子ヨシヤパテ、イスラエルの王アハブの第四年にユダの王となれり
Jehoshaphat the son of Asa began to reign over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.
42 ヨシヤパテ王となりし時三十五歳なりしがエルサレムにおいて二十五年王たりき其母の名はアズバといひてシルヒの女なり
Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty-five years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
43 ヨシヤパテ其父アサの諸の道に歩行み轉て之を離れずヱホバの目に適ふ事をなせり但し崇邱は除かざりき民尚崇邱に犠牲を献げ香を焚り
He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.
44 ヨシヤパテ、イスラエルの王と和好を結べり
Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.
45 ヨシヤパテの其餘の行爲と其なせる功績および如何に戰爭をなせしかはユダの王の歴代志の書に記載るにあらずや
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, and his might that he showed, and how he fought, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
46 彼其父アサの世に尚ほありし彼の男色を行ふ者の殘餘を國の中より逐はらへり
The remnant of the sodomites, that remained in the days of his father Asa, he put away out of the land.
47 當時エドムには王なくして代官王たりき
There was no king in Edom. A deputy ruled.
48 ヨシヤパテ、タルシシの船を造りて金を取ためにオフルに往しめんとしたりしが其船エジオンゲベルに壞れたれば遂に往に至らざりき
Jehoshaphat made ships of Tarshish to go to Ophir for gold, but they didn’t go, for the ships wrecked at Ezion Geber.
49 是においてアハブの子アハジア、ヨシヤパテに言けるはわが僕をして爾の僕と偕に船にて往しめよと然どヨシヤパテ聽ざりき
Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, “Let my servants go with your servants in the ships.” But Jehoshaphat would not.
50 ヨシヤパテ其父祖とともに寝りて其父ダビデの城邑に其父祖と共に葬らる其子ヨラム之に代て王となれり
Jehoshaphat slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in his father David’s city. Jehoram his son reigned in his place.
51 アハブの子アハジア、ユダの王ヨシヤパテの第十七年にサマリアにてイスラエルの王となり二年イスラエルを治めたり
Ahaziah the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and he reigned two years over Israel.
52 彼はヱホバの目のまへに惡をなし其父の道と其母の道および彼のイスラエルに罪を犯させたるネバテの子ヤラベアムの道に歩行み
He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and walked in the way of his father, and in the way of his mother, and in the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, in which he made Israel to sin.
53 バアルに事へて之を拝みイスラエルの神ヱホバの怒を激せり其父の凡て行へるがごとし
He served Baal and worshiped him, and provoked Yahweh, the God of Israel, to anger in all the ways that his father had done so.
