Salmi 16
1 Orazione di Davide GUARDAMI, o Dio; perciocchè io mi confido in te.
A Precious Psalm of David. Preserve me, O GOD, for I have sought refuge in thee.
2 Io ho detto all'Eterno: Tu [sei] il mio Signore; Io non ho bene all'infuori di te.
Thou hast said unto Yahweh, My Lord, art thou! My goodness, mounteth not unto thee.
3 Tutta la mia affezione [è] inverso i santi che sono in terra, E [inverso] gli [uomini] onorati.
It belongeth unto the holy ones, whom, in his own land, Yahweh, ennobleth, In whom is all his delight
4 I tormenti di coloro che corrono [dietro ad] altri [dii], saran moltiplicati; Io non farò le loro offerte da spandere, [che son] di sangue; E non mi recherò nelle labbra i nomi loro.
They multiply their idols—another, have they purchased! I will not pour out their drink-offerings of blood, nor will I take up their names on my lips.
5 Il Signore [è] la porzione della mia parte, e il mio calice; Tu, [Signore], mantieni quello che mi [è] scaduto in sorte.
Yahweh, is mine allotted portion and my cup, Thou, art maintaining my lot.
6 La sorte mi [è] scaduta in [luoghi] dilettevoli; Una bella eredità mi è pur toccata.
The lines, have fallen unto me, in pleasant places, Verily an inheritance that delighteth me.
7 Io benedirò il Signore, il qual mi consiglia; Eziandio le notti le mie reni mi ammaestrano.
I will bless Yahweh, who hath counselled me, —Surely, by night, shall mine impulses admonish me.
8 Io ho sempre posto il Signore davanti agli occhi miei; Perciocchè egli [è] alla mia destra, io non sarò giammai smosso.
I have set Yahweh before me continually, because he is on my right hand, I shall not be shaken!
9 Perciò il mio cuore si rallegra, e la mia lingua festeggia; Anzi pur la mia carne abiterà in sicurtà.
Therefore, hath my heart rejoiced, and mine honour exulted, Yea, my flesh, shall settle down securely;
10 Perciocchè tu non lascerai l'anima mia nel sepolcro, [E] non permetterai che il tuo Santo senta la corruzione della fossa. (Sheol h7585)
For thou wilt not abandon my soul to hades, neither wilt thou suffer thy man of lovingkindness, to see corruption: (Sheol h7585)
11 Tu mi mostrerai il sentier della vita; Sazietà d'ogni gioia [è] col tuo volto; Ogni diletto [è] nella tua destra in sempiterno.
Thou wilt cause me to know, the path of life, —Fulness of joys before thee, Pleasures at thy right hand evermore.
