Geremia 17

1 Il peccato di Giuda è scritto con uno stile di ferro, con una punta di diamante; egli è scolpito in su la tavola del lor cuore, e nelle corna de' vostri altari.

The synne of Juda is writun with an irone poyntel, in a nail of adamaunt; it is writun on the breede of the herte of hem, and in the hornes of the auteris of hem.

2 [Il ricordarsi de]'loro altari, e de' lor boschi, presso agli alberi verdeggianti, sopra gli alti colli, [è loro] come il ricordarsi de' lor propri figliuoli.

Whanne the sones of hem bithenken on her auteris, and woodis, and on the trees ful of boowis, makynge sacrifice in the feld in hiye munteyns,

3 O montanaro, [scendi] nella campagna; io darò in preda le tue facoltà, [e] tutti i tuoi tesori; i tuoi alti luoghi [son pieni] di peccato, in tutti i tuoi confini.

Y schal yyue thi strengthe and alle thi tresouris in to rauyschyng, thin hiye thingis for synnes in alle thin endis.

4 E tu, e [quelli che sono] fra te, lascerete vacar la vostra eredità, la quale io vi avea data, [essendone cacciati] fuori; ed io ti farò servire a' tuoi nemici, nel paese che tu non è conosci; perciocchè voi avete acceso un fuoco nella mia ira, [il quale] arderà in perpetuo.

And thou schalt be left aloone fro thin eritage which Y yaf to thee; and Y schal make thee to serue thin enemyes, in the lond which thou knowist not; for thou hast kyndlid fier in my strong veniaunce, it schal brenne til in to with outen ende.

5 Così ha detto il Signore: Maledetto [sia] l'uomo che si confida nell'uomo, e mette la carne per suo braccio, e il cui cuore si ritrae dal Signore.

The Lord seith these thingis, Cursid is the man that trestith in man, and settith fleisch his arm, and his herte goith awei fro the Lord.

6 Egli sarà come un tamerice in una piaggia; e quando il bene verrà, egli nol vedrà; ed abiterà nel deserto, in luoghi aridi, in terra di salsuggine, e disabitata.

For he schal be as bromes in desert, and he schal not se, whanne good schal come; but he schal dwelle in drynesse in desert, in the lond of saltnesse, and vnabitable.

7 Benedetto [sia] l'uomo che si confida nel Signore, e la cui confidanza [è] il Signore.

Blessid is the man that tristith in the Lord, and the Lord schal be his trist.

8 Egli sarà come un albero piantato presso alle acque, e [che] stende le sue radici lungo un ruscello; e quando viene l'arsura, egli non [la] sente; anzi le sue fronde verdeggiano; e nell'anno della secchezza non se [ne] affanna, e non resta di far frutto.

And he schal be as a tre, which is plauntid ouer watris, which sendith hise rootis to moisture; and it schal not drede, whanne heete schal come; and the leef therof schal be greene, and it schal not be moued in the tyme of drynesse, nether ony tyme it schal faile to make fruyte.

9 Il cuor [dell'uomo è] frodolente sopra ogni [altra] cosa, ed insanabile; chi lo conoscerà?

The herte of man is schrewid, and `may not be souyt; who schal knowe it?

10 Io, il Signore, che investigo i cuori, che provo le reni; e [ciò], per rendere a ciascuno la retribuzione secondo le sue vie, secondo il frutto de' suoi fatti.

Y am the Lord sekynge the herte, and preuynge the reynes, and Y yyue to ech man after his weye, and aftir the fruyt of his fyndyngis.

11 Chi acquista delle ricchezze, e non dirittamente, [è come] la pernice, [che] cova [l'uova] che non ha fatte; egli le lascerà al mezzo de' suoi dì, ed alla fine sarà [trovato] stolto.

A partriche nurschide tho thingis whiche sche bredde not; he made richessis, and not in doom; in the myddis of hise daies he schal forsake tho, and in hise laste tyme he schal be vnwijs.

12 Il luogo del nostro santuario [è] un trono di gloria, un luogo eccelso fin dal principio.

The seete of glorie of hiynesse was at the bigynnyng the place of oure halewyng, the abidyng of Israel.

13 O Signore, speranza d'Israele, tutti quelli che ti lasciano saran confusi; e quelli che si rivoltano indietro da me saranno scritti nella terra; perciocchè hanno abbandonata la fonte delle acque vive, il Signore.

Lord, alle thei that forsaken thee, schulen be schent; thei that goen aweie fro thee, schulen be writun in erthe, for thei han forsake the Lord, a veyne of quyk watirs.

14 Sanami, Signore, ed io sarò sanato; salvami, ed io sarò salvato; perciocchè tu [sei] la mia lode.

Lord, heele thou me, and Y schal be heelid; make thou me saaf, and Y schal be saaf; for thou art myn heriyng.

15 Ecco, costoro mi dicono: Dove [è] la parola del Signore? venga pur ora.

Lo! thei seien to me, Where is the word of the Lord? come it.

16 Ora, quant'è a me, io non ho fatta maggiore istanza dietro a te, che [si convenga] ad un pastore; e non ho desiderato il giorno del male insanabile; tu [il] sai, ciò che è uscito delle mie labbra è stato nel tuo cospetto.

And Y am not disturblid, suynge thee scheepherd, and Y desiride not the dai of man, thou woost. That that yede out of my lippis was riytful in thi siyt.

17 Non essermi in ispavento; tu [sei] la mia speranza, e rifugio, nel giorno dell'avversità.

Be thou not to drede to me; thou art myn hope in the dai of turment.

18 Sieno confusi i miei persecutori, e non io; sieno spaventati, e non io; fa' venire sopra loro il giorno del male, e rompili di doppia rottura.

Be thei schent, that pursuen me, and be Y not schent; drede thei, and drede not Y; brynge in on hem a dai of turment, and defoule thou hem bi double defouling.

19 COSÌ mi ha detto il Signore: Va', e fermati alla porta de' figliuoli del popolo, per la quale entrano ed escono i re di Giuda; ed a tutte le porte di Gerusalemme, e di' loro:

The Lord seith these thingis to me, Go thou, and stonde in the yate of the sones of the puple, bi whiche the kingis of Juda entren and goen out, and in alle the yatis of Jerusalem.

20 Ascoltate la parola del Signore, re di Giuda, e tutto Giuda, e [voi], tutti gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, ch'entrate per queste porte.

And thou schalt seie to hem, Here the word of the Lord, ye kingis of Juda, and al Judee, and alle the dwelleris of Jerusalem, that entren bi these yatis.

21 Così ha detto il Signore: Guardatevi, sopra le anime vostre, di portare alcun carico, nè di far[lo] passare per le porte di Gerusalemme, nel giorno del sabato;

The Lord God seith these thingis, Kepe ye youre soulis, and nyle ye bere birthuns in the dai of sabat, nether bringe in bi the yatis of Jerusalem.

22 e non traete fuor delle vostre case alcun carico, nè fate opera alcuna nei giorno del sabato; ma santificate il giorno del sabato, come io comandai a' padri vostri.

And nyle ye caste birthuns out of youre housis in the dai of sabat, and ye schulen not do ony werk; halewe ye the dai of sabat, as Y comaundide to youre fadris.

23 Ma essi non ascoltarono, e non porsero il loro orecchio; anzi indurarono il lor collo per non ascoltare, e per non ricever correzione.

And thei herden not, nether bowiden doun her eere, but thei maden hard her nol, that thei schulden not here me, and that thei schulden not take chastisyng.

24 Ed avverrà, se pur mi ascoltate, dice il Signore, per non fare entrare alcun carico per le porte di questa città nel giorno del sabato, e per santificare il giorno del sabato, per non fare in esso alcun lavoro;

And it schal be, if ye heren me, seith the Lord, that ye bere not in birthuns bi the yatis of this citee in the dai of sabat, and if ye halewen the dai of sabat, that ye do not werk ther ynne,

25 che i re ed i principi che seggono sopra il trono di Davide, montati sopra carri e cavalli; i re, dico, e i lor principi, gli uomini di Giuda, e gli abitanti di Gerusalemme, entreranno per le porte di questa città; e questa città sarà abitata in perpetuo.

kingis and princes sittynge on the seete of Dauid schulen entre bi the yatis of this citee, and stiynge in charis and horsis; thei, and the princis of hem, the men of Juda, and the dwelleris of Jerusalem; and this citee schal be enhabitid withouten ende.

26 E si verrà dalle città di Giuda, e da' luoghi circonvicini di Gerusalemme, e dal paese di Beniamino, e dal piano, e dal monte, e dalla parte meridionale, portando olocausti e sacrificii, ed offerte, ed incenso; portando ancora offerte da render grazie, alla Casa del Signore.

And thei schulen come fro the citees of Juda, and fro the cumpas of Jerusalem, and fro the lond of Beniamyn, and fro feeldi places, and fro hilli places, and fro the south, beringe brent sacrifice, and slayn sacrifice, and encense; and thei schulen bringe offring in to the hous of the Lord.

27 Ma, se non mi ascoltate, per santificare il giorno del sabato, e per non portare alcun carico, e per non entrar [con esso] per le porte di Gerusalemme, nel giorno del sabato, io accenderò un fuoco nelle sue porte, il quale consumerà i palazzi di Gerusalemme, e non si spegnerà.

Forsothe if ye heren not me, that ye halewe the dai of sabat, and that ye bere not a birthun, and that ye bringe not in bi the yatis of Jerusalem in the dai of sabat, Y schal kyndle fier in the yatis therof; and it schal deuoure the housis of Jerusalem, and it schal not be quenchid.
