Isaia 20

1 NELL'anno che Tartan, mandato da Sargon, re degli Assiri, venne contro ad Asdod, e la combattè, e la prese;

In the yeer wherynne Tharthan entride in to Azotus, whanne Sargon, the kyng of Assiriens, hadde sent hym, and he hadde fouyte ayens Azotus, and hadde take it;

2 in quel tempo il Signore parlò per Isaia, figliuolo di Amos, dicendo: Va', e sciogli il sacco d'in su i tuoi lombi, e tratti le scarpe da' piedi. Ed egli fece così, camminando nudo e scalzo.

in that tyme the Lord spak in the hond of Isaye, the sone of Amos, and seide, Go thou, and vnbynde the sak fro thi leendis, and take awei thi schoon fro thi feet. And he dide so, goynge nakid and vnschood.

3 E il Signore disse: Siccome Isaia, mio servitore, è camminato nudo e scalzo; [il che è] un segno, e prodigio di tre anni, sopra l'Egitto, e sopra l'Etiopia;

And the Lord seide, As my seruaunt Ysaie yede nakid and vnschood, a signe and greet wondur of thre yeer schal be on Egipt, and on Ethiopie;

4 così il re di Assiria ne menerà gli Egizi prigioni, e gli Etiopi in cattività; fanciulli, e vecchi, nudi e scalzi, e con le natiche scoperte, [per] vituperio all'Egitto.

so the kyng of Assiriens schal dryue the caitifte of Egipt, and the passyng ouer of Ethiopie, a yong man and an eld man, nakid and vnschood, with the buttokis vnhilid, to the schenschipe of Egipt.

5 E saranno spaventati e confusi, per l'Etiopia, alla quale riguardavano; e per l'Egitto, [ch'era] la lor gloria.

And thei schulen drede, and schulen be schent of Ethiopie, her hope, and of Egipt, her glorie.

6 Ed in quel giorno gli abitatori di questo paese deserto diranno: Ecco, così [è avvenuto a colui], a cui noi riguardavamo, dove noi eravamo fuggiti per soccorso, per esser liberati dal re degli Assiri; e come scamperemmo noi? Il carico del deserto del mare.

And a dwellere of this ile schal seie in that dai, This was our hope, to which we fledden for help, that thei schulden delyuere vs fro the face of the kyng of Assiryens; and hou moun we ascape?
