Genesi 21
1 E IL Signore visitò Sara, come avea detto. E il Signore fece a Sara come ne avea parlato.
And Jehovah hath looked after Sarah as He hath said, and Jehovah doth to Sarah as He hath spoken;
2 Ella adunque concepette, e partorì un figliuolo ad Abrahamo, nella vecchiezza di esso, al termine che Iddio gli aveva detto.
and Sarah conceiveth, and beareth a son to Abraham, to his old age, at the appointed time that God hath spoken of with him;
3 Ed Abrahamo pose nome Isacco al suo figliuolo che gli era nato, il qual Sara gli avea partorito.
and Abraham calleth the name of his son who is born to him, whom Sarah hath born to him — Isaac;
4 Ed Abrahamo circoncise Isacco suo figliuolo, nell'età di otto giorni, come Iddio gli avea comandato.
and Abraham circumciseth Isaac his son, [being] a son of eight days, as God hath commanded him.
5 Or Abrahamo [era] d'età di cent'anni, quando Isacco suo figliuolo gli nacque.
And Abraham [is] a son of a hundred years in Isaac his son being born to him,
6 E Sara disse: Iddio mi ha fatto di che ridere; chiunque l'intenderà riderà meco.
and Sarah saith, 'God hath made laughter for me; every one who is hearing laugheth for me.'
7 Disse ancora: Chi avrebbe detto ad Abrahamo che Sara allatterebbe figliuoli? conciossiachè io [gli] abbia partorito un figliuolo nella sua vecchiezza.
She saith also, 'Who hath said to Abraham, Sarah hath suckled sons, that I have born a son for his old age?'
8 Poi, essendo il fanciullo cresciuto, fu spoppato; e nel giorno che Isacco fu spoppato, Abrahamo fece un gran convito.
And the lad groweth, and is weaned, and Abraham maketh a great banquet in the day of Isaac's being weaned;
9 E Sara vide che il figliuolo di Agar Egizia, il quale ella avea partorito ad Abrahamo, si faceva beffe.
and Sarah seeth the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she hath borne to Abraham, mocking,
10 Onde ella disse ad Abrahamo: Caccia via questa serva e il suo figliuolo; perciocchè il figliuol di questa serva non ha da essere erede col mio figliuolo Isacco.
and she saith to Abraham, 'Cast out this handmaid and her son; for the son of this handmaid hath no possession with my son — with Isaac.'
11 E ciò dispiacque grandemente ad Abrahamo, per amor del suo figliuolo.
And the thing is very wrong in the eyes of Abraham, for his son's sake;
12 Ma Iddio gli disse: Non aver dispiacere per lo fanciullo, nè per la tua serva; acconsenti a Sara in tutto quello ch'ella ti dirà; perciocchè in Isacco ti sarà nominata progenie.
and God saith unto Abraham, 'Let it not be wrong in thine eyes because of the youth, and because of thy handmaid: all that Sarah saith unto thee — hearken to her voice, for in Isaac is a seed called to thee.
13 Ma pure io farò che anche il figliuolo di questa serva diventerà una nazione; perciocchè egli [è] tua progenie.
As to the son of the handmaid also, for a nation I set him, because he [is] thy seed.'
14 Abrahamo adunque, levatosi la mattina a buon'ora, prese del pane, ed un bariletto d'acqua, e diede [ciò] ad Agar, metendo[glielo] in ispalla; [le diede] ancora il fanciullo, e la mandò via. Ed ella si partì, e andò errando per lo deserto di Beerseba.
And Abraham riseth early in the morning, and taketh bread, and a bottle of water, and giveth unto Hagar (placing [it] on her shoulder), also the lad, and sendeth her out; and she goeth on, and goeth astray in the wilderness of Beer-Sheba;
15 Ed essendo l'acqua del bariletto venuta meno, ella gittò il fanciullo sotto un arboscello.
and the water is consumed from the bottle, and she placeth the lad under one of the shrubs.
16 Ed ella se ne andò, e si pose a sedere dirimpetto, di lungi intorno ad una tratta d'arco; perciocchè ella diceva: Ch'io non vegga morire il fanciullo; e sedendo così dirimpetto, alzò la voce e pianse.
And she goeth and sitteth by herself over-against, afar off, about a bow-shot, for she said, 'Let me not look on the death of the lad;' and she sitteth over-against, and lifteth up her voice, and weepeth.
17 E Iddio udì la voce del fanciullo, e l'Angelo di Dio chiamò Agar dal cielo, e le disse: Che hai, Agar? non temere; perciocchè Iddio ha udita la voce del fanciullo, là dove egli è.
And God heareth the voice of the youth; and the messenger of God calleth unto Hagar from the heavens, and saith to her, 'What to thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath hearkened unto the voice of the youth where he [is];
18 Levati, togli il fanciullo, e fortificati ad averne cura; perciocchè io lo farò divenire una gran nazione.
rise, lift up the youth, and lay hold on him with thy hand, for for a great nation I set him.'
19 E Iddio le aperse gli occhi, ed ella vide un pozzo d'acqua, ed andò, ed empiè il bariletto d'acqua, e diè bere al fanciullo.
And God openeth her eyes, and she seeth a well of water, and she goeth and filleth the bottle [with] water, and causeth the youth to drink;
20 E Iddio fu con quel fanciullo, ed egli divenne grande, e dimorò nel deserto, e fu tirator d'arco.
and God is with the youth, and he groweth, and dwelleth in the wilderness, and is an archer;
21 Ed egli dimorò nel deserto di Paran; e sua madre gli prese una moglie del paese di Egitto.
and he dwelleth in the wilderness of Paran, and his mother taketh for him a wife from the land of Egypt.
22 OR avvenne in quel tempo che Abimelecco con Picol, capo del suo esercito, parlò ad Abrahamo, dicendo: Iddio [è] teco in tutto ciò che tu fai.
And it cometh to pass at that time that Abimelech speaketh — Phichol also, head of his host — unto Abraham, saying, 'God [is] with thee in all that thou art doing;
23 Ora dunque giurami qui per [lo Nome di] Dio, se tu menti a me, od al mio figliuolo, od al mio nipote; che tu userai la medesima benignità inverso me, ed inverso il paese dove tu sei dimorato come forestiere, la quale io ho usata inverso te.
and now, swear to me by God here: thou dost not lie to me, or to my continuator, or to my successor; according to the kindness which I have done with thee thou dost with me, and with the land in which thou hast sojourned.'
24 Ed Abrahamo disse: [Sì], io il giurerò.
And Abraham saith, 'I — I do swear.'
25 Ma Abrahamo si querelò ad Abimelecco, per cagion di un pozzo d'acqua, che i servitori di Abimelecco aveano occupato per forza.
And Abraham reasoned with Abimelech concerning the matter of a well of water which Abimelech's servants have taken violently away,
26 Ed Abimelecco disse: Io non so chi abbia fatto questo; nè anche tu me l'hai fatto assapere, ed io non [ne] ho inteso [nulla], se non oggi.
and Abimelech saith, 'I have not known who hath done this thing, and even thou didst not declare to me, and I also, I have not heard save to-day.'
27 Ed Abrahamo prese pecore e buoi, e [li] diede ad Abimelecco, e fecero amendue lega insieme.
And Abraham taketh sheep and oxen, and giveth to Abimelech, and they make, both of them, a covenant;
28 Poi Abrahamo mise da parte sette agnelle della greggia.
and Abraham setteth seven Lambs of the flock by themselves.
29 Ed Abimelecco disse ad Abrahamo: Che [voglion dire] qui queste sette agnelle che tu hai poste da parte?
And Abimelech saith unto Abraham, 'What [are] they — these seven lambs which thou hast set by themselves?'
30 Ed egli disse: Che tu prenderai queste sette agnelle dalla mia mano; acciocchè [questo] sia per testimonianza che io ho cavato questo pozzo.
And he saith, 'For — the seven lambs thou dost accept from my hand, so that it becometh a witness for me that I have digged this well;'
31 Perciò egli chiamò quel luogo Beerseba; perchè amendue vi giurarono.
therefore hath he called that place 'Beer-Sheba,' for there have both of them sworn.
32 Fecero adunque lega [insieme] in Beerseba. Poi Abimelecco con Picol, capo del suo esercito, si levò, ed essi se ne ritornarono nel paese de' Filistei.
And they make a covenant in Beer-Sheba, and Abimelech riseth — Phichol also, head of his host — and they turn back unto the land of the Philistines;
33 Ed [Abrahamo] piantò un bosco in Beerseba, e quivi invocò il Nome del Signore Iddio eterno.
and [Abraham] planteth a tamarisk in Beer-Sheba, and preacheth there in the name of Jehovah, God age-during;
34 Ed Abrahamo dimorò come forestiere nel paese de' Filistei molti giorni.
and Abraham sojourneth in the land of the Philistines many days.
