Salmi 149

1 Cantate al Signore un canto nuovo; la sua lode nell'assemblea dei fedeli. Alleluia.

Praise the LORD. Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful ones.

2 Gioisca Israele nel suo Creatore, esultino nel loro Re i figli di Sion.

Let Israel rejoice in him who made them. Let the people of Zion be joyful in their King.

3 Lodino il suo nome con danze, con timpani e cetre gli cantino inni.

Let them praise his name in the dance. Let them sing praises to him with tambourine and harp.

4 Il Signore ama il suo popolo, incorona gli umili di vittoria.

For the LORD takes pleasure in his people. He crowns the humble with salvation.

5 Esultino i fedeli nella gloria, sorgano lieti dai loro giacigli.

Let the faithful ones rejoice in glory. Let them sing for joy on their beds.

6 Le lodi di Dio sulla loro bocca e la spada a due tagli nelle loro mani,

May the high praises of God be in their mouths, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

7 per compiere la vendetta tra i popoli e punire le genti;

To execute vengeance on the nations, and punishments on the peoples;

8 per stringere in catene i loro capi, i loro nobili in ceppi di ferro;

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 per eseguire su di essi il giudizio gia scritto: questa è la gloria per tutti i suoi fedeli. Alleluia.

to execute on them the written judgment. All his faithful ones have this honor. Praise the LORD.
