Keluaran 20

1 Lalu Allah berkata,

Then God spake all these wordes, saying,

2 “Akulah TUHAN Allahmu, yang sudah membawa kalian keluar dari perbudakan di Mesir.

I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Jangan menyembah dewa apa pun. Sembahlah hanya Aku!

Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.

4 Jangan membuat bagimu berhala menyerupai apa pun yang ada di langit, di bumi, ataupun di dalam air.

Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.

5 Jangan bersujud kepada dewa apa pun, dan jangan melayani mereka, karena Aku, TUHAN Allahmu, akan cemburu. Siapa pun yang menentang Aku dengan melakukan itu akan Aku hukum sampai generasinya yang ketiga dan keempat.

Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:

6 Tetapi kepada orang-orang yang mengasihi Aku dan menaati perintah-Ku, Aku akan menunjukkan kebaikan hati-Ku atas keluarganya sampai ribuan generasi.

And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.

7 Jangan menyalahgunakan nama-Ku, TUHAN Allahmu. Aku akan menghukum siapa pun yang memakai nama-Ku dengan maksud yang salah.

Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.

8 Ingatlah untuk menjaga kekudusan hari Sabat dengan menaati peraturan tentang hari itu.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.

9 Enam hari lamanya kalian bekerja dan melakukan kegiatanmu sehari-hari,

Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,

10 tetapi pada hari ketujuh, yaitu Sabat, kalian harus menghormati Aku, TUHAN Allahmu, dengan menghentikan segala pekerjaan. Tidak ada yang boleh melakukan pekerjaan, baik kamu, anak-anakmu, hamba-hambamu, maupun para pendatang yang tinggal di antaramu, bahkan hewan ternakmu.

But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.

11 Aku, TUHAN, sudah menciptakan langit, bumi, laut dan semua yang ada di dalamnya selama enam hari, lalu Aku beristirahat pada hari ketujuh. Karena itulah Aku memberkati hari Sabat dan menguduskannya. Maka kalian harus mengkhususkan hari itu.

For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Hormatilah ayah dan ibumu, supaya kamu hidup sejahtera di negeri yang Aku berikan kepadamu.

Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

13 Jangan membunuh.

Thou shalt not kill.

14 Jangan berzina.

Thou shalt not commit adulterie.

15 Jangan mencuri.

Thou shalt not steale.

16 Jangan memfitnah sesamamu.

Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.

17 Jangan mengingini milik orang lain, baik istrinya, rumahnya, hambanya laki-laki atau perempuan, sapi, keledai, maupun segala miliknya yang lain.”

Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.

18 Ketika umat Israel mendengar guruh dan bunyi sangkakala yang keras serta melihat kilat dan gunung yang diselimuti asap, mereka gemetar ketakutan dan tetap berdiri jauh-jauh.

And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,

19 Lalu mereka berkata kepada Musa, “Sampaikanlah kepada kami apa yang TUHAN katakan kepadamu. Kami akan mendengarkan. Tetapi jangan biarkan TUHAN berbicara langsung kepada kami, karena kami akan mati!”

And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.

20 Jawab Musa kepada mereka, “Jangan takut, sebab TUHAN datang untuk menguji kamu masing-masing, supaya kamu takut dan hormat kepada Dia, sehingga kamu terhindar dari dosa.”

Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.

21 Lalu Musa mendekati awan yang tebal dan gelap di mana Allah berada, sementara umat Israel tetap berdiri di kejauhan.

So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.

22 Selanjutnya TUHAN berkata kepada Musa, “Sampaikanlah kepada umat Israel: Kalian sendiri sudah melihat bagaimana Aku berbicara dengan kalian dari surga.

And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.

23 Karena itu, jangan membuat patung berhala, baik dari perak maupun emas.

Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.

24 “Buatlah sebuah mezbah dari tanah untuk-Ku, dan persembahkanlah sapi, domba, dan kambingmu di atasnya sebagai kurban yang dibakar habis serta kurban tanda damai. Ketika kamu melakukannya di setiap tempat yang Aku tentukan untuk menyembah-Ku, Aku akan hadir dan memberkatimu.

An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.

25 Apabila kamu hendak membuat mezbah untuk-Ku dari batu, jangan menggunakan batu yang sudah dipahat. Karena jika kamu memahatnya dengan peralatan, kamu mencemarkan mezbah itu.

But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.

26 Janganlah membuat mezbah terlalu tinggi sehingga membutuhkan banyak anak tangga, supaya kemaluanmu tidak terlihat.”

Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
