Keluaran 20

1 Lalu Allah mengucapkan segala firman ini:

Then God spake all these wordes, saying,

2 "Akulah TUHAN, Allahmu, yang membawa engkau keluar dari tanah Mesir, dari tempat perbudakan.

I am the Lord thy God, which haue brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Jangan ada padamu allah lain di hadapan-Ku.

Thou shalt haue none other Gods before me.

4 Jangan membuat bagimu patung yang menyerupai apapun yang ada di langit di atas, atau yang ada di bumi di bawah, atau yang ada di dalam air di bawah bumi.

Thou shalt make thee no grauen image, neither any similitude of things that are in heauen aboue, neither that are in the earth beneath, nor that are in the waters vnder the earth.

5 Jangan sujud menyembah kepadanya atau beribadah kepadanya, sebab Aku, TUHAN, Allahmu, adalah Allah yang cemburu, yang membalaskan kesalahan bapa kepada anak-anaknya, kepada keturunan yang ketiga dan keempat dari orang-orang yang membenci Aku,

Thou shalt not bowe downe to them, neither serue them: for I am the Lord thy God, a ielous God, visiting the iniquitie of the fathers vpon the children, vpon the third generation and vpon the fourth of them that hate me:

6 tetapi Aku menunjukkan kasih setia kepada beribu-ribu orang, yaitu mereka yang mengasihi Aku dan yang berpegang pada perintah-perintah-Ku.

And shewing mercie vnto thousandes to them that loue me, and keepe my commandemets.

7 Jangan menyebut nama TUHAN, Allahmu, dengan sembarangan, sebab TUHAN akan memandang bersalah orang yang menyebut nama-Nya dengan sembarangan.

Thou shalt not take the Name of the Lord thy God in vaine: for the Lord will not hold him guiltles that taketh his Name in vayne.

8 Ingatlah dan kuduskanlah hari Sabat:

Remember the Sabbath day, to keepe it holy.

9 enam hari lamanya engkau akan bekerja dan melakukan segala pekerjaanmu,

Sixe dayes shalt thou labour, and doe all thy worke,

10 tetapi hari ketujuh adalah hari Sabat TUHAN, Allahmu; maka jangan melakukan sesuatu pekerjaan, engkau atau anakmu laki-laki, atau anakmu perempuan, atau hambamu laki-laki, atau hambamu perempuan, atau hewanmu atau orang asing yang di tempat kediamanmu.

But the seuenth day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any worke, thou, nor thy sonne, nor thy daughter, thy man seruant, nor thy mayde, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.

11 Sebab enam hari lamanya TUHAN menjadikan langit dan bumi, laut dan segala isinya, dan Ia berhenti pada hari ketujuh; itulah sebabnya TUHAN memberkati hari Sabat dan menguduskannya.

For in sixe dayes the Lord made the heauen and the earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seuenth day: therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 Hormatilah ayahmu dan ibumu, supaya lanjut umurmu di tanah yang diberikan TUHAN, Allahmu, kepadamu.

Honour thy father and thy mother, that thy dayes may be prolonged vpon the land, which the Lord thy God giueth thee.

13 Jangan membunuh.

Thou shalt not kill.

14 Jangan berzinah.

Thou shalt not commit adulterie.

15 Jangan mencuri.

Thou shalt not steale.

16 Jangan mengucapkan saksi dusta tentang sesamamu.

Thou shalt not beare false witnes against thy neighbour.

17 Jangan mengingini rumah sesamamu; jangan mengingini isterinya, atau hambanya laki-laki, atau hambanya perempuan, atau lembunya atau keledainya, atau apapun yang dipunyai sesamamu."

Thou shalt not couet thy neighbours house, neither shalt thou couet thy neighbours wife, nor his man seruant, nor his mayde, nor his oxe, nor his asse, neyther any thing that is thy neighbours.

18 Seluruh bangsa itu menyaksikan guruh mengguntur, kilat sabung-menyabung, sangkakala berbunyi dan gunung berasap. Maka bangsa itu takut dan gemetar dan mereka berdiri jauh-jauh.

And all the people sawe the thunders, and the lightnings, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountaine smoking and when the people saw it they fled and stoode afare off,

19 Mereka berkata kepada Musa: "Engkaulah berbicara dengan kami, maka kami akan mendengarkan; tetapi janganlah Allah berbicara dengan kami, nanti kami mati."

And sayde vnto Moses, Talke thou with vs, and we will heare: but let not God talke with vs, lest we die.

20 Tetapi Musa berkata kepada bangsa itu: "Janganlah takut, sebab Allah telah datang dengan maksud untuk mencoba kamu dan dengan maksud supaya takut akan Dia ada padamu, agar kamu jangan berbuat dosa."

Then Moses sayde vnto the people, Feare not: for God is come to proue you, and that his feare may be before you, that ye sinne not.

21 Adapun bangsa itu berdiri jauh-jauh, tetapi Musa pergi mendekati embun yang kelam di mana Allah ada.

So the people stoode afarre off, but Moses drew neere vnto the darkenes where God was.

22 Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Musa: "Beginilah kaukatakan kepada orang Israel: Kamu sendiri telah menyaksikan, bahwa Aku berbicara dengan kamu dari langit.

And the Lord sayde vnto Moses, Thus thou shalt say vnto the children of Israel, Ye haue seene that I haue talked with you from heauen.

23 Janganlah kamu membuat di samping-Ku allah perak, juga allah emas janganlah kamu buat bagimu.

Ye shall not make therefore with me gods of siluer, nor gods of golde: you shall make you none.

24 Kaubuatlah bagi-Ku mezbah dari tanah dan persembahkanlah di atasnya korban bakaranmu dan korban keselamatanmu, kambing dombamu dan lembu sapimu. Pada setiap tempat yang Kutentukan menjadi tempat peringatan bagi nama-Ku, Aku akan datang kepadamu dan memberkati engkau.

An altar of earth thou shalt make vnto me, and thereon shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheepe, and thine oxen: in all places, where I shall put the remembrance of my Name, I will come vnto thee, and blesse thee.

25 Tetapi jika engkau membuat bagi-Ku mezbah dari batu, maka jangan engkau mendirikannya dari batu pahat, sebab apabila engkau mengerjakannya dengan beliung, maka engkau melanggar kekudusannya.

But if thou wilt make mee an altar of stone, thou shalt not buylde it of hewen stones: for if thou lift vp thy toole vpon them, thou hast polluted them.

26 Juga jangan engkau naik tangga ke atas ke mezbah-Ku, supaya auratmu jangan kelihatan di atasnya."

Neither shalt thou goe vp by steppes vnto mine altar, that thy filthines be not discouered thereon.
