1 Untuk memimpin upacara-upacara ibadat, Raja Daud dan para pemimpin orang Lewi memilih kaum-kaum Lewi yang berikut ini: Asaf, Heman dan Yedutun. Mereka ditugaskan untuk menyampaikan pesan dari Allah dengan diiringi musik kecapi, gambus dan simbal. Untuk memimpin ibadat dengan upacaranya masing-masing, dipilih regu-regu berikut ini:
David and the leaders of the army selected some of the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun to prophesy with harps, with stringed instruments, and with cymbals. Here is the list of the men who performed this service:
2 Keempat anak lelaki Asaf: Zakur, Yusuf, Netanya dan Asarela. Pemimpin mereka adalah Asaf, yang menyampaikan pesan dari Allah, apabila ditugaskan oleh raja.
From the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied under the king's supervision.
3 Keenam anak lelaki Yedutun: Gedalya, Zeri, Yesaya, Simei, Hasabya dan Matica. Di bawah pimpinan ayah mereka, mereka menyampaikan pesan dari Allah diiringi musik kecapi, dan mereka menyanyikan nyanyian pujian serta ucapan syukur kepada TUHAN.
From the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six in all, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who played the harp for giving thanks and praising Yahweh.
4 Keempat belas anak lelaki Heman: Bukia, Matanya, Uziel, Sebuel, Yerimot, Hananya, Hanani, Eliata, Gidalti, Romamti-Ezer, Yosbekasa, Maloti, Hotir dan Mahaziot.
From the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 Heman adalah nabi pribadi raja. TUHAN memberikan keempat belas anak lelaki itu serta tiga anak perempuan kepada Heman karena TUHAN telah berjanji untuk memberi kedudukan terhormat kepadanya.
All these were the sons of Heman the king's prophet. God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters to lift up his horn.
6 Semua anak Heman itu memainkan musik simbal, kecapi dan gambus di bawah pimpinan ayah mereka untuk mengiringi upacara ibadat di Rumah TUHAN. Asaf, Yedutun dan Heman mendapat tugas sesuai dengan petunjuk dari raja.
All these were under the direction of their fathers. They were musicians in Yahweh's house, with cymbals and stringed instruments as they served in God's house. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the king's supervision.
7 Kedua puluh empat anak lelaki mereka itu dan sanak saudara mereka adalah ahli-ahli musik yang terlatih. Mereka seluruhnya ada 288 orang.
They and their brothers who were skilled and trained to make music to Yahweh numbered 288.
8 Untuk menentukan giliran tugas, mereka semuanya menarik undi--baik yang muda maupun yang tua, baik yang berpengalaman maupun yang baru mulai belajar.
They cast lots for their duties, all alike, the same for the young as well as the old, the teacher as well as the student.
9 Ke-288 orang itu dibagi dalam 24 kelompok menurut keluarga masing-masing. Setiap kelompok terdiri dari 12 orang di bawah pimpinan satu orang. Inilah urutan nama mereka menurut undian: 1. Yusuf dari keluarga Asaf; 2. Gedalya; 3. Zakur; 4. Yizri; 5. Netanya; 6. Bukia; 7. Yesarela; 8. Yesaya; 9. Matanya; 10. Simei; 11. Azareel; 12. Hasabya; 13. Subael; 14. Matica; 15. Yeremot; 16. Hananya; 17. Yosbekasa; 18. Hanani; 19. Maloti; 20. Eliata; 21. Hotir; 22. Gidalti; 23. Mahaziot; 24. Romamti-Ezer.
Now regarding Asaph's sons: The first lot fell to Joseph's family; the second fell to Gedaliah's family, twelve persons in number;
the third fell to Zaccur, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the fourth fell to Izri, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the fifth fell to Nethaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the sixth fell to Bukkiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the seventh fell to Jesarelah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the eighth fell to Jeshaiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the ninth fell to Mattaniah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the tenth fell to Shimei, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the eleventh fell to Azarel, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twelfth fell to Hashabiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the thirteenth fell to Shubael, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the fourteenth fell to Mattithiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the fifteenth fell to Jerimoth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the sixteenth fell to Hananiah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the seventeenth fell to Joshbekashah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the eighteenth fell to Hanani, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the nineteenth fell to Mallothi, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twentieth fell to Eliathah, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twenty-second fell to Giddalti, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twenty-third fell to Mahazioth, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number;
the twenty-fourth fell to Romamti-Ezer, his sons and his relatives, twelve persons in number.
