Ezékiel 26

1 És lőn a tizenegyedik esztendőben, a hónap elsején, lőn az Úrnak beszéde hozzám, mondván:

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

2 Embernek fia! mivelhogy ezt mondá Tírus Jeruzsálemre: Haha! eltört a népek kapuja, felém fordulva nyitva van; én megtelek, ha ő elpusztul;

Son of man, Because Tyre hath said concerning Jerusalem. Aha! She is broken that was the doors of the peoples. She is turned unto me, — I shall be filled, She is laid waste,

3 Ezokáért így szól az Úr Isten: Ímé én, Tírus, te reád megyek, és hozok fel ellened sok nemzetet, miként a tenger fölhozza hullámit.

Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee O Tyre, — So then I will bring up against thee many nations, As the sea bringeth up its rolling waves;

4 És elhányják Tírus kőfalait és lerontják tornyait, s levonszom még porát is róla, s kopasz sziklává teszem őt.

And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre. And break down her towers, And I will scrape clean her dust from off her, —And make of her the glaring face of a cliff:

5 Hálók kivető helye lesz a tenger közepén, mert én szólottam, ezt mondja az Úr Isten, s legyen a nemzetek ragadománya.

A place for the spreading of nets, shall she become, in the midst of the sea, For, I, have spoken Declareth My Lord. Yahweh, -And she shall become a prey to the nations.

6 És leányai, kik a mezőségen vannak, fegyverrel ölettessenek meg, hogy megtudják, hogy én vagyok az Úr.

And her daughters that are in the field: with the sword shall be slain: So shall they know that I am Yahweh.

7 Mert így szól az Úr Isten: Ímé, én hozom Tírus ellen Nabukodonozort, Babilon királyát északról, a királyok királyát; lovakkal, szekerekkel, lovagokkal, sereggel és sok néppel.

For thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Behold me! bringing against Tyre. Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon out of the North. a king of kings, —with horses and with chariots and with horsemen, and a gathered host, and much people.

8 Leányaidat ott a mezőségen fegyverrel öli meg, és állat ellened tornyot, és tölt ellened sánczot, és emel ellened paizs-fedelet.

Thy daughters in the field—with the sword, shall he slay, - And shall set against thee a siege-wall And cast up against thee an earthwork, And set up against thee a large shield;

9 És faltörő kosával ütteti kőfalaidat, s tornyaidat lerontja fegyvereivel.

And the stroke of his attacking-engine, will he direct against thy walls, — And thy towers, will he break down with his axes.

10 Lovainak sokasága miatt belep téged poruk; a lovagoknak, kerekeknek és szekereknek robogása miatt megrendülnek kőfalaid, mikor bemegy kapuidon, a mint be szoktak menni a megtörött városba.

By reason of the multitude of his horses, their dust shall cover thee, — At the noise of horseman and wheel and chariot, shall thy walls tremble, when he entereth into thy gates Just as they do who enter a city broken open.

11 Lovainak körmeivel tapodja meg minden utczádat, népedet fegyverrel öli meg, s erősséged oszlopai a földre dőlnek.

With the hoofs of his horses, shall he tread down all thy streets, — Thy people-with the sword, shall he slay, And thy pillars of strength to the earth, shall go down.

12 És prédára hányják gazdagságodat, és elragadozzák árúidat, és letörik kőfalaidat, s gyönyörűséges házaidat lerontják, és köveidet és fáidat, s még porodat is a víz közepére hányják.

And they shall spoil thy wealth And make a prey of thy merchandise, And break down thy walls And thy pleasant houses, shall they lay in ruins; And thy stones and thy timber and thy dust—in the midst of the waters, shall they lay.

13 És megszüntetem éneklésed hangosságát, és cziteráid zengése nem hallatik többé.

And I will cause to cease the hum of thy songs; And the sound of thy lyres, shall not be heard any more.

14 És kopasz sziklává teszlek; hálók kivető helye leszel, hogy többé meg ne építsenek; mert én, az Úr szóltam, ezt mondja az Úr Isten.

And I will make of thee the glaring face of a cliff. A place for the spreading of nets, shalt thou become, Thou shalt not be but any more, For I. Yahweh have spoken it, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.

15 Így szól az Úr Isten Tírusnak: Bizonyára a te romlásod zuhanásától, mikor a sebesültek nyögnek, mikor a te benned valók öltön-ölettetnek, megrendülnek a szigetek!

Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, to Tyre: Shall it not be that. At the sound of thy fall. With the groan of thy pierced one. With the slaughter made in thy midst, The Coastlands shall tremble?

16 És leszáll királyi székéről a tenger minden fejedelme, és elvetik köntöseiket, s hímes ruháikat levetik: rettegésekbe öltöznek, a földön ülnek és rettegnek minden szempillantásban, s elborzadnak miattad.

Then shall come down from off their thrones all the princes of the sea, And shall lay aside their robes. And their embroidered garments, shall strip off, — With tremblings, shall they clothe them. selves Upon the ground, shall they sit, And shall tremble every moment and be astonished over thee.

17 És gyászéneket kezdenek rólad, és ezt mondják néked: Mimódon veszél el te, a kit laknak a tengerekről, te híres-neves város, mely hatalmas vala a tengeren, ő és lakosai, a kik félelmökre valának minden mellettök lakozóknak!

Then shall they take up over thee a dirge, And say to thee, - How hast thou perished, And ceased from the seas, - The city renowned which was strong in the sea She and they who dwelt in her, Who imparted their terror To all who dwelt in her.

18 Ímé, rettegnek a szigetek zuhanásod napján, és megfélemlenek a tengerben való szigetek ilyen véged miatt.

Now, shall tremble the Coastlands, In the day of thy fall, - And shall shudder the isles that are in the sea. At thine exit!

19 Mert azt mondja az Úr Isten: Mikor én téged elpusztult várossá teszlek, mint a mely városokat nem laknak; mikor a mélység árját felhozom reád, hogy beborítsanak a sok vizek:

For thus saith My Lord Yahweh, When I make thee a desolate city, Like cities which cannot be dwelt in, - When I bring up over thee the roaring deep, And the mighty waters cover thee,

20 Akkor levonszlak téged azokkal, kik sírgödörbe szállanak, a hajdan népéhez; és lakatlak téged a mélységek országában, a hajdan pusztaságaiban, együtt azokkal, a kik sírgödörbe szálltak, hogy többé senki ne lakjék benned. És ha megmutattam dicsőségemet az élőknek földén:

Then will I bring thee down with them that go down into the pit. Unto the people of age-past times And cause thee to dwell in the earth below Among the desolations from age-past times With them that go down into the pit That thou mayest not be dwelt in, Nor yet present thyself in the land of the living.

21 Rémségesen cselekszem veled és nem leszel; s keresni fognak, de többé örökké meg nem találnak, ezt mondja az Úr Isten.

A terror, will I make thee And thou shalt not be: Though thou be sought for, Thou shalt not be found any more To times age-abiding, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
