1 Mózes 19
1 És elérkezett a két angyal Szodomába este, Lót pedig ült Szodoma kapujában; midőn Lót látta, fölkelt elébük és meghajolt arccal a földig.
And there came two angels to Sodom at evening; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground;
2 És mondta: Íme, kérlek, uraim! térjetek csak be szolgátok házába, háljatok meg, mossátok meg lábaitokat és reggel fölkeltek és mentek utatokra. De ők mondták: Nem, hanem az utcán hálunk.
And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night.
3 De ő igen unszolta őket és betértek hozzá, bementek házába; és ő készített nekik lakomát, kovásztalan lepényt sütött és ők ettek.
And he urged them greatly; and they turned in to him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.
4 Mielőtt lefeküdtek volna, a város emberei, Szodoma emberei körülvették a házat, ifjútól öregig, az egész nép, minden végről.
But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
5 Szólították Lótot és mondták neki: Hol vannak a férfiak, akik hozzád jöttek az éjjel? Vezesd ki őket hozzánk, hadd ismerjük meg őket.
And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where are the men who came in to thee this night? bring them out to us, that we may know them.
6 És kiment hozzájuk Lót a bejárat elé, az ajtót pedig bezárta maga mögött.
And Lot went out at the door to them, and shut the door after him,
7 És mondta: Ne, ó testvéreim, ne cselekedjetek rosszat!
And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly.
8 Íme, kérlek, van nekem két leányom, akik még nem ismertek férfit, hadd vezessem ki őket hozzátok és tegyetek velük, amint jónak tetszik szemeitekben; csak ezen férfiaknak ne tegyetek semmit, mivelhogy már jöttek födelem árnyékába.
Behold now, I have two daughters who have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out to you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only to these men do nothing; for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.
9 De ők mondták: Állj odébb! És mondták: Ez az egy idejött, hogy itt tartózkodjék és már bíráskodni akar! Most rosszabbul fogunk veled bánni, mint velük. És igen szorították a férfiút, Lótot és odaléptek, hogy betörjék az ajtót.
And they said, Stand back. And they said again, This one man came in to sojourn, and he will needs be a judge: now will we deal worse with thee, than with them. And they pressed hard upon the man, Lot, and came near to break the door.
10 Akkor kinyújtották a férfiak kezüket és bevitték Lótot magukhoz a házba, az ajtót pedig bezárták.
But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
11 És az embereket, kik a ház bejáratánál voltak, vaksággal verték meg, kicsinytől nagyig; így belefáradtak, hogy megtalálják a bejáratot.
And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
12 És mondták a férfiak Lótnak: Még kid van itt? Vőt, fiaidat, leányaidat és mindazt, akid van a városban vidd ki a helységből;
And the men said to Lot, Hast thou here any besides? son in law, and thy sons, and thy daughters, and whomever thou hast in the city, bring them out of this place:
13 mert mi elpusztítjuk ezt a helységet, mert nagy lett a jajkiáltás miattuk az Örökkévaló színe előtt; és elküldött bennünket az; Örökkévaló, hogy elpusztítsuk.
For we will destroy this place, because the cry of them hast become great before the face of the LORD; and the LORD hath sent us to destroy it.
14 És kiment Lót és szólt az ő vejeihez, akik el akarták venni leányait és mondta: Fel, menjetek ki ezen helységből, mert az Örökkévaló elpusztítja a várost; de ő tréfálkozónak tűnt fel vejei szemeiben.
And Lot went out, and spoke to his sons in law, who married his daughters, and said, Arise, depart from this place; for the LORD will destroy this city. But he seemed to his sons in law as one that mocked.
15 És amint a hajnalpír feljött, sürgették az angyalok Lótot, mondván: Fel, vedd feleségedet, két leányodat, akik itt vannak, hogy el ne vessz a város vétke miatt.
And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, who are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
16 Midőn késedelmeskedett, akkor megragadták a férfiak a kezét, az ő feleségének a kezét és két leánya kezét – az Örökkévaló könyörülete lévén rajta és kivezették őt és otthagyták a városon kívül.
And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful to him: and they brought him forth, and set him outside of the city.
17 És volt, midőn kivezette őket a szabadba, mondta: Menekülj lelked kedvéért, ne tekints magad mögé és meg se állj az egész környékben; a hegységbe menekülj, hogy el ne vessz.
And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
18 És mondta nekik Lót: Ó ne uraim!
And Lot said to them, O, not so, my Lord:
19 Íme, kegyet talált szolgád szemeidben és naggyá tetted kegyelmedet, melyet műveltél velem, hogy életben tartod lelkemet, de én nem menekülhetek a hegységbe, hogy utol ne érne a veszedelem és én meghalok.
Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shown to me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil should take me, and I die:
20 Íme, kérlek, ez a város közel van, hogy oda meneküljek és kicsiny is az, hadd meneküljek oda, hisz kicsiny az, hogy életben maradjon lelkem.
Behold now, this city is near to flee to, and it is a small one: O, let me escape there, ( is it not a small one?) and my soul shall live.
21 És mondta neki: Íme, tekintetbe veszlek ebben a dologban is, hogy nem forgatom föl ama várost, melyről szóltál.
And he said to him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for which thou hast spoken.
22 Siess, menekülj oda, mert nem tehetek semmit amíg oda nem érsz azért nevezte el ama várost Cóárnak.
Haste thee, escape there; for I cannot do any thing till thou hast come there. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.
23 A nap feljött a földre és Lót Cóárba ért.
The sun had risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar.
24 Az Örökkévaló pedig hullatott Szodomára és Gomorrhára kénkövet és tüzet, az Örökkévalótól az égből.
Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;
25 És felforgatta a városokat, meg az egész környéket, a városok összes lakóit és a föld növényzetét.
And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground.
26 És felesége hátratekintett és sóoszloppá lett.
But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
27 Ábrahám pedig kora reggel fölkelt (és elment) azon helyre, ahol állott az Örökkévaló színe előtt.
And Abraham rose early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
28 És tekintett Szodoma meg Gomorrha felé és a környék egész földje felé és látta, íme fölszállt a földből, mint a kemence füstje.
And he looked toward Sodom and Gomorrah, and toward all the land of the plain, and beheld, and, lo, the smoke of the country went up as the smoke of a furnace.
29 És volt, midőn elpusztította Isten a környék városait, megemlékezett Isten Ábrahámról és elküldte Lótot a felforgatás közepéből, midőn felforgatta a városokat, melyekben Lót lakott.
And it came to pass, when God destroyed the cities of the plain, that God remembered Abraham, and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow, when he overthrew the cities in which Lot dwelt.
30 És Lót fölment Cóárból és lakott a hegyen, és két leánya vele, mert félt Cóárban lakni; és lakott a barlangban, ő és két leánya.
And Lot went up from Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
31 És szólt az idősebbik a fiatalabbikhoz: Atyánk öreg, férfi pedig nincs a földön, hogy jönne hozzánk az egész föld szokása szerint.
And the firstborn said to the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man on the earth to come in to us after the manner of all the earth:
32 Jer, adjunk apánknak bort inni és háljunk vele, hogy fenntartsunk magzatot atyánktól.
Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
33 És adtak inni bort az atyjuknak azon éjjel és bement az idősebbik és hált atyjával, s ő nem tudott annak sem lefekvéséről, sem fölkeléséről.
And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
34 És történt másnap, szólt az idősebbik a fiatalabbikhoz: Íme, én háltam tegnap éjjel atyámmal, adjunk neki inni bort ez éjjel is és menj be, hálj vele, hogy fenntartsunk magzatot atyánktól.
And it came to pass on the next day, that the firstborn said to the younger, Behold, I lay last night with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father.
35 És adtak inni azon éjjel is atyjuknak bort, és fölket a fiatalabbik s hált vele, és ő nem tudott annak sem lefekvéséről, sem fölkeléséről.
And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose.
36 És viselős lett Lót két lánya atyjuktól;
Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father.
37 és szült az idősebbik fiút és elnevezte Moábnak; az Moáb atyja mind e napig;
And the firstborn bore a son, and called his name Moab: the same is the father of the Moabites to this day.
38 és a fiatalabbik is szült fiút és elnevezte őt Ben-Amminak: az Ammón fiainak atyja mind e napig.
And the younger, she also bore a son, and called his name Benammi: the same is the father of the children of Ammon to this day.
