| למנצח אל ששנים עדות לאסף מזמור רעה ישראל האזינה נהג כצאן יוסף ישב הכרובים הופיעה׃ | 1 |
For the chief musician, set to the Shoshannim Eduth style. A psalm of Asaph. Pay attention, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock; you who sit above the cherubim, shine on us!
| לפני אפרים ובנימן ומנשה עוררה את גבורתך ולכה לישעתה לנו׃ | 2 |
In the sight of Ephraim and Benjamin and Manasseh, stir up your power; come and save us.
| אלהים השיבנו והאר פניך ונושעה׃ | 3 |
God, restore us; make your face shine on us, and we will be saved.
| יהוה אלהים צבאות עד מתי עשנת בתפלת עמך׃ | 4 |
Yahweh God of hosts, how long will you be angry at your people when they pray?
| האכלתם לחם דמעה ותשקמו בדמעות שליש׃ | 5 |
You have fed them with the bread of tears and given them tears to drink in great quantities.
| תשימנו מדון לשכנינו ואיבינו ילעגו למו׃ | 6 |
You make us something for our neighbors to argue over, and our enemies laugh about us among themselves.
| אלהים צבאות השיבנו והאר פניך ונושעה׃ | 7 |
God of hosts, restore us; make your face shine on us, and we will be saved.
| גפן ממצרים תסיע תגרש גוים ותטעה׃ | 8 |
You brought a vine out of Egypt; you drove out nations and transplanted it.
| פנית לפניה ותשרש שרשיה ותמלא ארץ׃ | 9 |
You cleared the land for it; it took root and filled the land.
| כסו הרים צלה וענפיה ארזי אל׃ | 10 |
The mountains were covered with its shade, the cedars of God by its branches.
| תשלח קצירה עד ים ואל נהר יונקותיה׃ | 11 |
It sent out its branches as far as the sea and its shoots to the Euphrates River.
| למה פרצת גדריה וארוה כל עברי דרך׃ | 12 |
Why have you broken down its walls so that all who pass by along the road pluck its fruit?
| יכרסמנה חזיר מיער וזיז שדי ירענה׃ | 13 |
The boars out of the forest ruin it, and the beasts of the field feed on it.
| אלהים צבאות שוב נא הבט משמים וראה ופקד גפן זאת׃ | 14 |
Turn back, God of hosts; look down from heaven and take notice and take care of this vine.
| וכנה אשר נטעה ימינך ועל בן אמצתה לך׃ | 15 |
This is the root that your right hand planted, the shoot that you made to grow.
| שרפה באש כסוחה מגערת פניך יאבדו׃ | 16 |
It has been burned and cut down; they perish because of your rebuke.
| תהי ידך על איש ימינך על בן אדם אמצת לך׃ | 17 |
May your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
| ולא נסוג ממך תחינו ובשמך נקרא׃ | 18 |
Then we will not turn away from you; revive us, and we will call on your name.
| יהוה אלהים צבאות השיבנו האר פניך ונושעה׃ | 19 |
Yahweh God of hosts, restore us; make your face shine on us, and we will be saved.
