< Zabura 137 >

1 A bakin kogunan Babilon muka zauna muka yi kuka sa’ad da muka tuna da Sihiyona.
By the waters of Babylon there we sat, and we wept at the thought of Zion.
2 A can a kan rassan itatuwa muka rataye garayunmu,
There on the poplars we hung our harps.
3 gama a can masu kamunmu suka sa mu yi waƙoƙi, masu ba mu azaba suka nema waƙoƙin farin ciki; suka ce, “Ku rera mana ɗaya daga cikin waƙoƙin Sihiyona!”
For there our captors called for a song: our tormentors, rejoicing, saying: ‘Sing us one of the songs of Zion.’
4 Yaya za mu rera waƙoƙin Ubangiji a baƙuwar ƙasa?
How can we sing the Lord’s song in the foreigner’s land?
5 In na manta da ke, ya Urushalima, bari hannuna na dama manta da iyawarsa.
If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand wither.
6 Bari harshena yă manne wa rufin bakina in ban tuna da ke ba, in ban so Urushalima farin cikin mafi girma ba.
May my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I am unmindful of you, or don’t set Jerusalem above my chief joy.
7 Ka tuna, ya Ubangiji, abin da mutanen Edom suka yi a ranar da Urushalima ta fāɗi. Suka yi ihu suka ce, “A ragargaza ta, A ragargaza ta har tushenta!”
Remember the Edomites, Lord, the day of Jerusalem’s fall, when they said, ‘Lay her bare, lay her bare, right down to her very foundation.’
8 Ya Diyar Babilon, an ƙaddara ke zuwa hallaka, mai farin ciki ne wanda ya sāka miki saboda abin da kika yi mana,
Babylon, despoiler, happy are those who pay you back for all you have done to us.
9 shi da ya ƙwace jariranki ya fyaɗa su a kan duwatsu.
Happy are they who seize and dash your children against the rocks.
