1 Pou chèf sanba yo. Se yon chante David te ekri lè moun peyi Zif yo te al di Sayil men David kache lakay yo. Bondye, delivre m' non avèk pouvwa ou! Fè m' jistis avèk fòs kouraj ou!

For the leader. With stringed instruments. A maskil of David, when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “David is in hiding among us”. Save me, O God, by your name, by your power secure for me justice.

2 Bondye, koute m' non lè m'ap lapriyè! Panche zòrèy ou pou tande pawòl k'ap soti nan bouch mwen!

Listen, O God, to my prayer, attend to the words of my mouth.

3 Paske gen yon seri moun awogan ki leve dèyè m', yon bann mechan ki soti pou touye m'! Yo pa menm chonje si gen Bondye!

For proud men have risen against me, and terrible men seek my life, men who do not set God before them. (Selah)

4 Men, Bondye ap vin ede m'. Seyè a ap pran defans mwen.

But see! God is my helper, the Lord is sustaining my life.

5 L'ap fè mechanste moun ki pa vle wè m' yo tonbe sou tèt yo; l'ap fini nèt ak yo paske l'ap toujou kenbe pawòl li.

Let their evil fall back on my foes: cut them off in your faithfulness, Lord.

6 Seyè, m'a ofri bèt pou yo touye pou ou ak kè kontan, m'a fè lwanj ou, paske ou bon pou mwen.

Then will I bring you glad sacrifice, praising your gracious name;

7 Ou delivre m' anba tray mwen te ye a; ou fè m' wè lènmi m' yo pèdi batay la.

for from all distress you have saved me, and feasted my eyes on my foes.
