ગીતશાસ્ત્ર 14

1 ૧ મુખ્ય ગવૈયાને માટે. દાઉદનું (ગીત). મૂર્ખ માણસ પોતાના મનમાં કહે છે, “ઈશ્વર છે જ નહિ.” તેઓ ભ્રષ્ટ થયા છે અને અન્યાયથી ભરેલાં ઘૃણાપાત્ર કામો કર્યાં છે; તેઓમાં સત્કાર્ય કરનાર કોઈ નથી.

For the leader. Of David. Fools say in their heart, ‘There is no God.’ Vile, hateful their life is; not one does good.

2 ૨ કોઈ સમજનાર અને કોઈ ઈશ્વરને શોધનાર છે કે નહિ તે જોવાને યહોવાહે આકાશમાંથી મનુષ્યો પર દ્રષ્ટિ કરી.

From heaven the Lord looks out on humans, to see if any are wise, and care for God.

3 ૩ દરેક માર્ગભ્રષ્ટ થયા છે; તેઓ પૂરેપૂરા મલિન થઈ ગયા છે; સત્કાર્ય કરનાર કોઈ નથી, ના એક પણ નથી.

But all have turned bad, the taint is on all; not one does good, no, not one.

4 ૪ શું સર્વ દુષ્ટતા કરનારને કંઈ ડહાપણ નથી? તેઓ રોટલીની જેમ મારા લોકોને ખાઈ જાય છે, પણ યહોવાહને વિનંતિ કરતા નથી.

Have they learned their lesson, those workers of evil? Who ate up my people, eating, devouring, never calling to the Lord.

5 ૫ તેઓ બહુ ભયભીત થયા, કારણ કે ઈશ્વર ન્યાયીઓની સાથે છે.

Sore afraid will they be; for God is among those who are righteous,

6 ૬ તમે ગરીબના વિચાર નિરર્થક કરી નાખો છો પણ યહોવાહ તો તેનો આશ્રય છે.

you may mock the plans of the poor, but the Lord is their refuge.

7 ૭ સિયોનમાંથી ઇઝરાયલનો ઉદ્ધાર આવે તો કેવું સારું! જ્યારે યહોવાહ પોતાના લોકોની આબાદી પાછી આપશે, ત્યારે યાકૂબ હર્ષ પામશે અને ઇઝરાયલ આનંદ કરશે.

If only help from Zion would come for Israel! When the Lord brings his people a change of fortune, how glad will be Jacob, and Israel how joyful!
