Ψαλμοί 33
1 Αγάλλεσθε, δίκαιοι, εν Κυρίω· εις τους ευθείς αρμόζει η αίνεσις.
Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright.
2 Υμνείτε τον Κύριον εν κιθάρα· εν ψαλτηρίω δεκαχόρδω ψαλμωδήσατε εις αυτόν.
Praise the LORD with harp: sing to him with the psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings.
3 Ψάλλετε εις αυτόν άσμα νέον· καλώς σημαίνετε τα όργανά σας εν αλαλαγμώ.
Sing to him a new song; play skillfully with a loud noise.
4 Διότι ευθύς είναι ο λόγος του Κυρίου, και πάντα τα έργα αυτού μετά αληθείας.
For the word of the LORD [is] right; and all his works [are done] in truth.
5 Αγαπά δικαιοσύνην και κρίσιν· από του ελέους του Κυρίου είναι πλήρης η γη.
He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.
6 Με τον λόγον του Κυρίου έγειναν οι ουρανοί, και διά της πνοής του στόματος αυτού πάσα η στρατιά αυτών.
By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.
7 Συνήγαγεν ως σωρόν τα ύδατα της θαλάσσης· έβαλεν εις αποθήκας τας αβύσσους.
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in store-houses.
8 Ας φοβηθή τον Κύριον πάσα η γή· ας τρομάξωσιν απ' αυτού πάντες οι κάτοικοι της οικουμένης.
Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
9 Διότι αυτός είπε, και έγεινεν· αυτός προσέταξε, και εστερεώθη.
For he spoke, and it was [done]; he commanded, and it stood fast.
10 Ο Κύριος ματαιόνει την βουλήν των εθνών, ανατρέπει τους διαλογισμούς των λαών.
The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to naught: he maketh the devices of the people of no effect.
11 Η βουλή του Κυρίου μένει εις τον αιώνα· οι λογισμοί της καρδίας αυτού εις γενεάν και γενεάν.
The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
12 Μακάριον το έθνος, του οποίου ο Θεός είναι ο Κύριος. Ο λαός, τον οποίον εξέλεξε διά κληρονομίαν αυτού.
Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
13 Ο Κύριος διέκυψεν εξ ουρανού· είδε πάντας τους υιούς των ανθρώπων.
The LORD looketh from heaven; he beholdeth all the sons of men.
14 Εκ του τόπου της κατοικήσεως αυτού θεωρεί πάντας τους κατοίκους της γης.
From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth.
15 Εξ ίσου έπλασε τας καρδίας αυτών· γνωρίζει πάντα τα έργα αυτών.
He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
16 Δεν σώζεται βασιλεύς διά πλήθους στρατεύματος· ο δυνατός δεν ελευθερούται διά της μεγάλης αυτού ανδρείας.
There is no king saved by the multitude of a host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength.
17 Μάταιος ο ίππος προς σωτηρίαν· και διά της πολλής αυτού δυνάμεως δεν θέλει σώσει.
A horse [is] a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver [any] by his great strength.
18 Ιδού, ο οφθαλμός του Κυρίου είναι επί τους φοβουμένους αυτόν· επί τους ελπίζοντας επί το έλεος αυτού·
Behold, the eye of the LORD [is] upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;
19 διά να ελευθερώση εκ θανάτου την ψυχήν αυτών, και εν καιρώ πείνης να διαφυλάξη αυτούς εις ζωήν.
To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Η ψυχή ημών προσμένει τον Κύριον· αυτός είναι βοηθός ημών και ασπίς ημών.
Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he [is] our help and our shield.
21 Διότι εις αυτόν θέλει ευφρανθή η καρδία ημών, επειδή επί το όνομα αυτού το άγιον ηλπίσαμεν.
For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his holy name.
22 Γένοιτο, Κύριε, το έλεός σου εφ' ημάς, καθώς ηλπίσαμεν επί σε.
Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.
