Sacharja 5

1 Und ich wandte mich zurück und hob meine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, eine fliegende Schriftrolle.

Then I turned and lifted my eyes, and I saw, behold, a flying scroll!

2 Und Er sprach zu mir: Was siehst du? Und ich sprach: Ich sehe eine fliegende Schriftrolle. Ihre Länge ist zwanzig Ellen und ihre Breite zehn Ellen.

The angel said to me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”

3 Und Er sprach zu mir: Dies ist die Verwünschung, die ausgeht über die Angesichte des ganzen Landes: denn jeder, der da stiehlt, ist danach unschuldig wie sie, und jeder, der danach schwört, ist unschuldig wie sie.

Then he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the surface of the whole land. For every thief will be cut off according to what it says on the one side, and everyone who swears a false oath will be cut off according to what it says on the other side.

4 Ich habe sie ausgehen lassen, spricht Jehovah der Heerscharen, daß sie eingehen soll in das Haus des Diebes und in das Haus dessen, der in Meinem Namen schwört zur Lüge, und sie soll herbergen inmitten seines Hauses, und auffressen dasselbe und sein Holz und seine Steine.

“I will send it out—this is the declaration of Yahweh of hosts—so it will enter into the house of the thief and into the house of the one that swears falsely by my name. It will remain in his house and consume its timber and stones.”

5 Und der Engel, der mit mir redete, ging heraus und sprach zu mir: Hebe doch deine Augen auf, und siehe was da herausgeht.

Then the angel who was speaking with me went out and said to me, “Raise your eyes and see what is coming!”

6 Und ich sprach: Was ist das? und er sprach: Das ist das Ephah, das herauskommt. Und er sprach: Dies ist ihr Anblick im ganzen Land.

I said, “What is it?” He said, “This is a basket containing an ephah that is coming. This is their iniquity in the whole land.”

7 Und siehe, ein Zentner Blei ward aufgehoben, und dieses eine Weib, das inmitten des Ephahs sitzt.

Then a lead covering was lifted off the basket and there was a woman under it sitting in it!

8 Und er sprach: Dies ist die Ungerechtigkeit! und warf sie mitten in das Ephah, und warf das Bleigewicht auf seine Mündung.

The angel said, “This is Wickedness!” He threw her back inside the basket, and he threw the lead cover over its opening.

9 Und ich hob meine Augen und sah, und siehe, zwei Weiber kamen hervor und Wind war in ihren Flügeln, und sie hatten zwei Flügel wie Flügel des Storches, und hoben das Ephah auf zwischen Erde und Himmel.

I lifted my eyes and saw two women coming toward me, and wind was in their wings—for they had wings like a stork's wings. They lifted up the basket between earth and heaven.

10 Und ich sprach zu dem Engel, der mit mir redete: Wohin bringen sie das Ephah?

So I said to the angel who was talking to me, “Where are they taking the basket?”

11 Und er sprach zu mir: Um ihm ein Haus zu bauen im Lande Schinear. Und dort wird es gefestigt und in seiner Stätte niedergelassen werden.

He said to me, “To build a temple in the land of Shinar for it, so that when the temple is ready, the basket will be set there on its prepared base.”
