Jeremia 46
1 Das Wort Jehovahs, das an Jirmejahu, den Propheten, geschah über die Völkerschaften,
The wordes of the Lord, which came to Ieremiah the Prophet against the Gentiles,
2 Wider Ägypten, wider die Streitmacht des Pharao Necho, des Königs von Ägypten, die am Flusse Phrath in Charchemisch war, die Nebuchadrezzar, Babels König, schlug im vierten Jahr Jehojakims, des Sohnes Joschijahus, des Königs von Jehudah:
As against Egypt, against ye armie of Pharaoh Necho King of Egypt, which was by the riuer Perath in Carchemish, which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel smote in the fourth yere of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah.
3 Richtet her Tartsche und Schild, und tretet herzu zum Streit!
Make readie buckler and shielde, and goe forth to battell.
4 Spannet die Rosse ein, steigt auf, ihr Reiter, und stellt euch auf in Helmen, scheuert die Speere, zieht die Panzer an!
Make readie the horses, and let the horsemen get vp, and stande vp with your sallets, fourbish the speares, and put on the brigandines.
5 Warum sehe Ich sie entsetzt hinter sich zurückweichen, und ihre Helden zerstoßen? In Flucht fliehen sie und wenden sich nicht; Bangen ringsum! spricht Jehovah.
Wherefore haue I seene them afraid, and driuen backe? for their mighty men are smitten, and are fled away, and looke not backe: for feare was rounde about, sayeth the Lord.
6 Der Schnelle soll nicht entfliehen, und nicht entrinnen der Held; gegen Mitternacht, entlang dem Ufer des Flusses Phrath straucheln und fallen sie.
The swift shall not flee away, nor the strong man escape: they shall stumble, and fall towarde the North by the riuer Perath.
7 Wer ist es, der aufsteigt wie der Strom, dessen Wasser wie Flüsse wogen?
Who is this, that commeth vp, as a flood, whose waters are mooued like the riuers?
8 Ägypten, wie der Strom steigt es auf, und die Wasser wogen wie die Flüsse. Und es spricht: Ich steige auf und bedecke das Land, ich zerstöre die Stadt und die darin wohnen.
Egypt riseth vp like the flood, and his waters are mooued like the riuers, and he sayth, I wil goe vp, and will couer the earth: I wil destroy the citie with them that dwell therein.
9 Steiget herauf, ihr Rosse, rast ihr Streitwagen; und lasset die Helden ausziehen, Kusch und Put, so die Tartsche erfassen, und die Ludim, so erfassen, spannen den Bogen.
Come vp, ye horses, and rage ye charets, and let the valiant men come foorth, the blacke Mores, and the Lybians that beare the shield, and the Lydians that handle and bend the bowe.
10 Und dies ist der Tag für den Herrn Jehovah der Heerscharen, ein Tag der Rache, daß Er Sich an Seinen Drängern räche; und das Schwert fresse und werde satt und schwelge in ihrem Blut; denn ein Schlachtopfer sind sie dem Herrn Jehovah der Heerscharen im Lande der Mitternacht, am Flusse Phrath.
For this is the day of ye Lord God of hostes, and a day of vengeance, that he may auenge him of his enemies: for the sworde shall deuoure, and it shall be saciate, and made drunke with their blood: for the Lord God of hosts hath a sacrifice in the North countrey by the Riuer Perath.
11 Steige hinauf, Gilead und hole Balsam, Jungfrau, Tochter Ägyptens. Vergeblich machst du viel der Heilmittel. Da ist für dich kein Aufkommen.
Goe vp vnto Gilead, and take balme, O virgine, the daughter of Egypt: in vaine shalt thou vse many medicines: for thou shalt haue no health.
12 Die Völkerschaften hörten deine Unehre, deines Klageschreis ist voll die Erde; denn der Held strauchelt über den Helden, miteinander fallen sie beide.
The nations haue heard of thy shame, and thy crie hath filled the lande: for the strong hath stumbled against the strong and they are fallen both together.
13 Das Wort, welches Jehovah zu Jirmejahu, dem Propheten, redete, da Nebuchadrezzar, der König von Babel, kam, das Land Ägypten zu schlagen:
The woorde that the Lord spake to Ieremiah the Prophet, howe Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel shoulde come and smite the lande of Egypt.
14 Sagt es in Ägypten an, und laßt es in Migdol hören, und laßt es hören in Noph und in Thachpanches; sprechet: Stelle dich auf und bereite dich; denn das Schwert frißt rings um dich her.
Publish in Egypt and declare in Migdol, and proclaime in Noph, and in Tahpanhes, and say, Stand still, and prepare thee: for the sworde shall deuoure rounde about thee.
15 Warum ist weggefegt dein Gewaltiger? steht er nicht? denn Jehovah hat ihn fortgetrieben;
Why are thy valiant men put backe? they could not stand, because the Lord did driue them.
16 Er macht viel der Strauchelnden, auch fällt der Mann über seinen Genossen. Und sie sprechen: Stehe auf, laßt uns zu unserem Volk zurückkehren, und zum Land unserer Geburt vor dem bedrückenden Schwerte.
Hee made many to fall, and one fell vpon another: and they saide, Arise, let vs goe againe to our owne people, and to the land of our natiuitie from the sworde of the violent.
17 Sie rufen da: Zertrümmert ist Pharao, Ägyptens König. Seine bestimmte Zeit hat er vorbeigelassen.
They did cry there, Pharaoh King of Egypt, and of a great multitude hath passed the time appointed.
18 Bei meinem Leben, spricht der König, Jehovah der Heerscharen ist Sein Name: denn wie der Thabor unter den Bergen und wie der Karmel an dem Meer kommt Er.
As I liue, saith the King, whose Name is the Lord of hostes, surely as Tabor is in the mountaines, and as Carmel is in the sea: so shall it come.
19 Mache dir Geräte der Wegführung, du Einwohnerin, Tochter Ägyptens, denn verwüstet wird Noph werden und wird angezündet, daß niemand darin wohnt.
O thou daughter dwelling in Egypt, make thee geare to goe into captiuitie: for Noph shall be waste and desolate, without an inhabitant.
20 Ägypten ist eine gar schöne Färse, Zerrüttung kommt von Mitternacht, sie kommt.
Egypt is like a faire calfe, but destruction commeth: out of the North it commeth.
21 Auch ihre Söldlinge in ihrer Mitte sind wie gemästete Kälber; denn auch sie wenden sich, sie fliehen allzumal, sie stehen nicht; denn gekommen ist über sie der Tag ihrer Not, die Zeit ihrer Heimsuchung.
Also her hired men are in the middes of her like fat calues: they are also turned backe and fled away together: they could not stand, because the day of their destruction was come vpon them, and the time of their visitation.
22 Ihre Stimme geht wie einer Schlange; denn sie gehen mit Gewalt, und mit Äxten kommen sie zu ihr, wie die Holzhauer.
The voyce thereof shall goe foorth like a serpent: for they shall march with an armie, and come against her with axes, as hewers of wood.
23 Sie hauen ihren Wald um, spricht Jehovah; denn er wird nicht ergründet, denn mehr sind ihrer, als der Heuschrecken, und ihrer ist keine Zahl.
They shall cut downe her forest, saith the Lord: for they cannot be counted, because they are moe then ye grashoppers, and are innumerable.
24 Die Tochter Ägyptens ist beschämt; sie ist in die Hand des Volks der Mitternacht gegeben.
The daughter of Egypt shall be confounded: she shall be deliuered into the handes of the people of the North.
25 Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, spricht: Siehe, Ich werde heimsuchen über Amon von No, und über Pharao und über Ägypten und über seine Götter und über seine Könige, und über Pharao und über die, so auf ihn vertrauen.
Thus saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Behold, I will visite the common people of No and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with their gods and their Kings, euen Pharaoh, and al them that trust in him,
26 Und gebe sie in derer Hand, die ihnen nach der Seele trachten, und in die Hand Nebuchadrezzars, des Königs von Babel, und in seiner Knechte Hand, aber nachher soll es wohnen, wie in der Vorzeit Tagen, spricht Jehovah.
And I will deliuer them into the handes of those, that seeke their liues, and into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel, and into the handes of his seruants, and afterwarde she shall dwell as in the olde time, saith the Lord.
27 Du aber fürchte dich nicht, Mein Knecht Jakob, und entsetze dich nicht, Israel; denn siehe, Ich rette dich aus der Ferne, und deinen Samen aus dem Land ihrer Gefangenschaft, und Jakob soll zurückkehren und ruhig und sorglos sein, und niemand soll ihn aufscheuchen.
But feare not thou, O my seruant Iaakob, and be not thou afraid, O Israel: for behold, I will deliuer thee from a farre countrey, and thy seede from the land of their captiuitie, and Iaakob shall returne and be in rest, and prosperitie, and none shall make him afraid.
28 Du, fürchte dich nicht, Mein Knecht Jakob, spricht Jehovah; denn Ich bin mit dir. Wenn Ich Vollendung mache mit allen Völkerschaften, dahin Ich dich verstoßen hatte, so mache Ich doch mit dir keine Vollendung, aber züchtige dich nach dem Recht, und lasse dich nicht ungestraft.
Feare thou not, O Iaakob my seruant, saith the Lord: for I am with thee, and I will vtterly destroy all the nations, whither I haue driuen thee: but I will not vtterly destroy thee, but correct thee by iudgement, and not vtterly cut thee off.
