Jeremia 13

1 So spricht zu mir Jehovah: Gehe und kaufe dir einen leinenen Gurt und lege ihn um deine Lenden, aber bring ihn nicht ins Wasser.

Thus sayth the Lord vnto mee, Goe, and buy thee a linen girdle, and put it vpon thy loynes, and put it not in water.

2 Und ich kaufte den Gurt nach dem Wort Jehovahs und legte ihn um meine Lenden.

So I bought the girdle according to the commandement of the Lord, and put it vpon my loynes.

3 Und es geschah Jehovahs Wort an mich zum zweitenmal, sprechend:

And the worde of the Lord came vnto me the second time, saying,

4 Nimm den Gurt, den du gekauft, der um deine Lenden ist, und stehe auf und gehe nach dem Phrath und lege ihn da hehlings in die Kluft der Felsenklippe.

Take the girdle that thou hast bought, which is vpon thy loynes, and arise, goe towarde Perath, and hide it there in the cleft of the rocke.

5 Und ich ging und legte ihn hehlings an dem Phrath so, wie Jehovah mir geboten hatte.

So I went, and hid it by Perath, as the Lord had commanded me.

6 Und es geschah am Ende vieler Tage, daß Jehovah zu mir sprach: Stehe auf, gehe nach dem Phrath und nimm von da den Gurt, den Ich dir gebot allda hehlings hinzulegen.

And after many dayes, the Lord sayde vnto mee, Arise, goe towarde Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.

7 Und ich ging nach dem Phrath und ich grub und nahm den Gurt vom Ort, da ich ihn hehlings hingelegt hatte, und siehe, der Gurt war verdorben, daß er zu nichts mehr taugte.

Then went I to Perath, and digged, and tooke the girdle from the place where I had hid it, and behold, the girdle was corrupt, and was profitable for nothing.

8 Und es geschah an mich Jehovahs Wort, sprechend:

Then the word of the Lord came vnto me, saying,

9 So spricht Jehovah: Ebenso will Ich verderben den Stolz Jehudahs und den vielen Stolz Jerusalems.

Thus sayth the Lord, After this maner will I destroy the pride of Iudah, and the great pride of Ierusalem.

10 Dies böse Volk, sie, die sich weigern zu hören auf Meine Worte, die hingehen in der Verstocktheit ihres Herzens und anderen Göttern nachgehen, ihnen zu dienen und sie anzubeten, soll werden gleich wie dieser Gurt, der zu nichts taugt.

This wicked people haue refused to heare my word, and walke after ye stubbernesse of their owne heart, and walke after other gods to serue them, and to worship them: therefore they shalbe as this girdle, which is profitable to nothing.

11 Denn wie der Gurt anhaftet an des Mannes Lenden, so habe Ich Mir lassen anhaften das ganze Haus Israels und das ganze Haus Jehudahs, spricht Jehovah, daß es Mir sei zum Volk und zum Namen und zum Lob und zum Schmuck, aber sie haben nicht gehört.

For as the girdle cleaueth to the loynes of a man, so haue I tied to me the whole house of Israel, and the whole house of Iudah, saith the Lord, that they might bee my people: that they might haue a name and prayse, and glory, but they would not heare.

12 So sage ihnen dies Wort: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Jeglicher Schlauch wird mit Wein gefüllt! Und sagen sie zu dir: Wissen wir nicht, daß jeglicher Schlauch soll mit Wein gefüllt werden?

Therefore thou shalt saye vnto them this word, Thus sayth the Lord God of Israel, Euery bottell shalbe filled with wine, and they shall say vnto thee, Doe we not knowe that euery bottell shalbe filled with wine?

13 So sprich zu ihnen: So spricht Jehovah: Siehe, Ich erfülle alle, die in diesem Lande wohnen, und die Könige, die von David auf seinem Throne sitzen, und die Priester und die Propheten und alle Bewohner Jerusalems, mit starkem Getränk.

Then shalt thou say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, euen the Kings that sit vpon the throne of Dauid, and the Priestes and the Prophets and all the inhabitantes of Ierusalem with drunkennesse.

14 Und will zerstreuen den Mann mit seinem Bruder und die Väter und die Söhne allzumal, spricht Jehovah. Ich will nicht Mitleid haben, noch schonen, und Mich nicht erbarmen, daß Ich sie nicht verderbe.

And I wil dash them one against another, euen the fathers and the sonnes together, sayeth the Lord: I will not spare, I will not pitie nor haue compassion, but destroy them.

15 Höret und nehmt zu Ohren, seid nicht hoffärtig. Denn Jehovah redet!

Heare and giue eare, be not proude: for the Lord hath spoken it.

16 Gebet Jehovah, eurem Gott, die Herrlichkeit, bevor Er es finster werden läßt und bevor eure Füße sich stoßen an den Bergen der Dämmerung und ihr hoffet auf Licht; Er aber wird es zum Todesschatten machen, und in Wolkendunkel setzen.

Giue glory to the Lord your God before he bring darknes, and or euer your feete stumble in the darke mountaines, and whiles you look for light, he turne it into the shadowe of death and make it as darkenesse.

17 Und wenn ihr nicht darauf hört, wird meine Seele im Verborgenen weinen ob dem Hochmut und mein Auge tränt und fließt in Tränen herab, daß Jehovahs Herde gefangengenommen wird.

But if ye will not heare this, my soule shall weepe in secrete for your pride, and mine eye shall weepe and drop downe teares, because the Lords flocke is caried away captiue.

18 Saget dem Könige und der Gebieterin: Erniedrigt euch, setzt euch hin, denn herabgefallen ist euer Kopfputz, die Krone eures Schmuckes.

Say vnto the King and to the Queene, Humble yourselues, sit downe, for the crowne of your glory shall come downe from your heads.

19 Des Mittags Städte sind geschlossen und niemand öffnet sie; ganz Jehudah ist weggeführt, weggeführt ist Schelomim!

The cities of the South shall be shut vp, and no man shall open them: all Iudah shall be caried away captiue: it shall be wholy caried away captiue.

20 Erhebet eure Augen und sehet, die da kommen von Mitternacht! Wo ist nun die Herde, die dir gegeben war, die Herde, deines Schmuckes?

Lift vp your eyes and beholde them that come from the North: where is the flocke that was giuen thee, euen thy beautifull flocke?

21 Was wirst du sagen, wenn Er über dir heimsucht? Und du hast sie gelehrt als Leiter über dich zum Haupte zu sein. Sollten nicht Geburtsnöte dich ergreifen, wie ein Weib, die gebären soll?

What wilt thou saye, when hee shall visite thee? (for thou hast taught them to be captaines and as chiefe ouer thee) shall not sorow take thee as a woman in trauaile?

22 Und wenn du sprichst in deinem Herzen: Warum ist solches mir begegnet? Ob der Menge deiner Missetat wurden deine Säume aufgedeckt und deinen Fersen wurde Gewalt angetan.

And if thou say in thine heart, Wherefore come these things vpon me? For the multitude of thine iniquities are thy skirts discouered and thy heeles made bare.

23 Kann auch ein Mohr seine Haut wandeln, und ein Pardel seine Flecken? So vermöchtet auch ihr Gutes zu tun, die ihr gelernt habt, Böses tun.

Can the blacke More change his skin? or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do euill.

24 Und Ich will sie zerstreuen wie die Spreu, die bei der Wüste Wind vorüberfährt.

Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that is taken away with the South winde.

25 Das soll dein Los sein, dein Anteil, von Mir dir zugemessen, spricht Jehovah, daß du hast Mein vergessen und auf die Lüge vertraust.

This is thy portion, and ye part of thy measures from me, sayth the Lord, because thou hast forgotten me and trusted in lyes.

26 Und Ich will auch deine Säume entblößen über dein Angesicht, daß deine Unehre gesehen werde.

Therefore I haue also discouered thy skirts vpon thy face, that thy shame may appeare.

27 Deine Ehebrüche und dein Wiehern, die Unzucht deiner Buhlerei auf den Hügeln, im Felde, deine Scheusale habe Ich gesehen. Wehe dir, Jerusalem, willst du dich nicht hernachmals reinigen? Wie lange noch?

I haue seene thine adulteries, and thy neiings, the filthinesse of thy whoredome on the hils in the fieldes, and thine abominations. Wo vnto thee, O Ierusalem: wilt thou not bee made cleane? when shall it once be?
