Habakuk 2

1 Ich stehe auf meiner Hut, und habe mich auf die Festung gestellt und spähe, um zu sehen, was Er in mir will reden, und was ich erwidern soll in meiner Rüge.

I will stand vpon my watch, and set me vpon the towre, and wil looke and see what he would say vnto mee, and what I shall answere to him that rebuketh me.

2 Und Jehovah antwortete mir und sprach: Schreibe das Gesicht und grabe es auf Tafeln ein, daß es durchlaufe, wer es liest.

And the Lord answered me, and sayde, Write the vision, and make it plaine vpon tables, that he may runne that readeth it.

3 Denn das Gesicht ist noch auf eine bestimmte Zeit und wird ausgesprochen am Ende und täuscht nicht. Wenn es säumt, so harre darauf, denn es kommt gewißlich und zögert nicht.

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the last it shall speake, and not lie: though it tarie, waite: for it shall surely come, and shall not stay.

4 Siehe, wer aufgetrieben ist, dessen Seele handelt nicht redlich in ihm; aber der Gerechte lebt in seinem Glauben.

Beholde, he that lifteth vp himselfe, his minde is not vpright in him, but the iust shall liue by his fayth,

5 Und ebenso wie der Wein berückt, so ist der übermütige Mann, und er verweilt nicht und macht breit wie die Hölle seine Seele, und ist wie der Tod und wird nicht satt, und versammelt zu sich alle Völkerschaften, und bringt zu sich zusammen alle Völker. (Sheol h7585)

Yea, in deede the proude man is as hee that transgresseth by wine: therefore shall he not endure, because he hath enlarged his desire as the hell, and is as death, and can not be satisfied, but gathereth vnto him all nations, and heapeth vnto him all people. (Sheol h7585)

6 Werden nicht alle diese einen Spruch erheben über ihn, und ein Spottlied, Rätsel über ihn, und sprechen: Wehe dem, der mehret was sein nicht ist. Wie lange? und er beschwert sich mit dichtem Kot.

Shall not all these take vp a parable against him, and a tanting prouerbe against him, and say, Ho, he that increaseth that which is not his? howe long? and hee that ladeth himselfe with thicke clay?

7 Werden nicht unversehens aufstehen, die dich beißen, und erwachen, die dich verschütteln, und du wirst ihnen zur Plünderung?

Shall they not rise vp suddenly, that shall bite thee? and awake, that shall stirre thee? and thou shalt be their praye?

8 Denn du hast viele Völkerschaften ausgebeutet, alle die übrigen Völker sollen dich ausbeuten, ob dem Blute des Menschen, und der Gewalttat am Lande, an der Hauptstadt und allen, die darin wohnen.

Because thou hast spoyled many nations, all the remnant of the people shall spoyle thee, because of mens blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the citie, and vnto all that dwell therein.

9 Wehe ihm, der nach bösem Gewinn geizt für sein Haus, um in die Höhe sein Nest zu setzen, auf daß er sich errette von des Bösen Hand.

Ho, he that coueteth an euil couetousnesse to his house, that he may set his nest on hie, to escape from the power of euil.

10 Schande hast du deinem Haus beraten, daß du so viele Völker hast abgeschnitten und dich versündigt an deiner Seele.

Thou hast consulted shame to thine owne house, by destroying many people, and hast sinned against thine owne soule.

11 Denn der Stein schreit von der Wand, und ihm antwortet der Sparren von dem Holzwerk.

For the stone shall crie out of the wall, and the beame out of the timber shall answere it.

12 Wehe dem, der die Stadt mit Blut baut, und die Hauptstadt mit Verkehrtheit festigt.

Wo vnto him that buildeth a towne with blood, and erecteth a citie by iniquitie.

13 Ist es nicht so? Siehe, von Jehovah der Heerscharen geschieht es, daß Völker sich für das Feuer müde machen, und Volksstämme sich abmatten für das Leere.

Beholde, is it not of the Lord of hostes that the people shall labour in ye very fire? the people shall euen weary themselues for very vanitie.

14 Denn voll wird werden die Erde von der Erkenntnis der Herrlichkeit Jehovahs, wie die Wasser sich decken über das Meer.

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters couer the sea.

15 Wehe dem, der seinen Genossen trinken läßt, der du aus deinem Schlauche einschenkst, und ihn auch berauschest, um auf ihre Blöße zu blicken.

Wo vnto him that giueth his neighbour drinke: thou ioynest thine heate, and makest him drunken also, that thou mayest see their priuities.

16 Satt wirst du an Unehre werden statt an Herrlichkeit. Trinke auch du und zeige die Vorhaut. Umgehen zu dir wird der Becher der Rechten Jehovahs, und Gespei der Unehre über deine Herrlichkeit.

Thou art filled with shame for glorie: drinke thou also, and be made naked: the cup of the Lords right hand shall be turned vnto thee, and shamefull spuing shalbe for thy glory.

17 Denn die Gewalttat des Libanon wird dich bedecken, und die Verheerung der Tiere sie entsetzen, ob dem Blute der Menschen und der Gewalttat am Lande, an der Hauptstadt und an allen, die darin wohnen.

For the crueltie of Lebanon shall couer thee: so shall the spoyle of the beastes, which made them afraide, because of mens blood, and for the wrong done in the land, in the citie, and vnto all that dwell therein.

18 Was nützt das Schnitzbild, daß sein Bildner es schnitzte, das Gußbild und der Lüge Unterweiser, daß seines Bildes Bildner ihm vertraut und macht stumme Götzen?

What profiteth the image? for the maker thereof hath made it an image, and a teacher of lies, though he that made it, trust therein, when he maketh dumme idoles.

19 Wehe dem, der zum Holze spricht: Erwache!, zum stillen Stein: Wache auf! Er soll dich unterweisen! Siehe, in Gold und Silber ist es gefaßt, aber kein Geist ist in seinem Inneren.

Wo vnto him that sayth to the wood, Awake, and to the dumme stone, Rise vp, it shall teach thee: beholde, it is layde ouer with golde and siluer, and there is no breath in it.

20 Aber Jehovah ist im Tempel Seiner Heiligkeit. Stille sei vor Seinem Angesicht die ganze Erde.

But the Lord is in his holy Temple: let all the earth keepe silence before him.
