1 Mose 33
1 Und Jakob hob seine Augen auf und sah, und siehe, Esau kam, und mit ihm vierhundert Mann; und er verteilte die Kinder an Leah und an Rachel und die beiden Dienstmägde.
And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
2 Und stellte die Dienstmägde und ihre Kinder zuerst, und Leah und ihre Kinder hernach, und Rachel und Joseph nach ihnen.
And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
3 Und er zog hin vor ihnen und verbeugte sich siebenmal zur Erde, bis daß er zu seinem Bruder hinzutrat.
So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
4 Und Esau lief ihm entgegen und umarmte ihn und fiel ihm um den Hals und küßte ihn, und sie weinten.
Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
5 Und er hob seine Augen auf, und sah die Weiber und die Kinder und sprach: Wer sind diese bei dir? Und er sprach: Die Kinder, mit denen Gott in Gnade deinen Knecht begabt hat.
And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
6 Und die Dienstmägde traten herzu, sie und ihre Kinder, und verbeugten sich.
Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
7 Und auch Leah trat herzu und ihre Kinder und verbeugten sich, und nachher traten Joseph und Rachel herzu und verbeugten sich.
Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
8 Und er sprach: Was soll dir das ganze Lager da, auf das ich getroffen bin? Und er sprach: Auf daß ich Gnade finde in den Augen meines Herrn.
Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
9 Und Esau sprach: Ich habe viele; mein Bruder, laß dein sein, was dein ist.
And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
10 Und Jakob sprach: Nicht doch, fände ich doch Gnade in deinen Augen, daß du mein Geschenk aus meiner Hand nähmest! denn darum habe ich dein Angesicht gesehen, wie man das Angesicht Gottes sieht; und du hattest Wohlgefallen an mir.
But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
11 Nimm doch meinen Segen, der dir gebracht wurde; denn Gott hat mich gnädig begabt und ich habe alles; und er drang in ihn, und er nahm es.
I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
12 Und er sprach: Laß uns aufbrechen und gehen; und ich will vor dir gehen.
And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
13 Und er sprach zu ihm: Mein Herr weiß, daß die Kinder zart sind, und daß das Kleinvieh und Rindvieh bei mir säugt; und übertriebe man sie einen Tag, so würde alles Kleinvieh sterben.
Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
14 Ziehe doch mein Herr vor seinem Knechte hin, und ich will sie sachte leiten, je nach dem Schritte des Viehs vor mir her, und nach dem Schritte der Kinder, bis daß ich zu meinem Herrn nach Seir komme.
Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
15 Und Esau sprach: Ich will doch von dem Volke, das bei mir ist, dir zustellen. Er aber sprach: Wozu das? laß mich doch Gnade in den Augen meines Herrn finden!
Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
16 Und Esau kehrte an demselben Tag auf seinem Weg nach Seir zurück.
So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
17 Und Jakob brach nach Sukkoth auf, und baute sich ein Haus, und für seine Viehherde machte er Hütten. Deshalb nannte man den Namen des Ortes Sukkoth.
And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
18 Und Jakob kam nach Schalem, die Stadt des Schechem, im Lande Kanaan, wenn man von Padan Aram kommt, und lagerte sich vor der Stadt.
Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
19 Und er kaufte einen Teil des Feldes, auf dem er sein Zelt aufschlug, von der Hand der Söhne Chamors, des Vaters von Schechem, um hundert Kesitah.
And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
20 Und er stellte dort einen Altar auf und nannte ihn El Elohe Israel.
And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
