Hesekiel 19
1 Und du erhebe ein Trauerlied über die Fürsten Israels,
Thou also, take vp a lamentation for the princes of Israel,
2 Und sprich: Was war deine Mutter? Eine alte Löwin, unter Löwen lagerte sie, inmitten junger Löwen erzog sie ihre Jungen.
And say, Wherefore lay thy mother as a lyonesse among the lyons? she nourished her yong ones among the lyons whelps,
3 Und es stieg herauf eines von ihren Jungen. Ein junger Löwe war es, und lernte zerfleischen, Menschen fressen.
And she brought vp one of her whelps, and it became a lyon, and it learned to catch the praye, and it deuoured men.
4 Und von ihm hörten die Völkerschaften; er ward in ihrer Fallgrube erfaßt, und an Haken brachten sie ihn herein nach dem Land Ägypten.
The nations also heard of him, and he was taken in their nets, and they brought him in chaines vnto the land of Egypt.
5 Sie aber sah, daß sie gewartet, aber ihre Hoffnung verloren war, und nahm ihrer Jungen eines, setzte es zum jungen Löwen.
Nowe when she sawe, that she had waited and her hope was lost, she tooke another of her whelps, and made him a lyon.
6 Und inmitten der Löwen ging er einher, ward zum jungen Löwen und lernte das Zerfleischen, fraß Menschen.
Which went among the lyons, and became a lyon, and learned to catch the praye, and he deuoured men.
7 Und erkannte ihre Witwen und verödete ihre Städte, und verwüstete das Land und seine Fülle durch die Stimme seines Brüllens.
And he knew their widowes, and he destroyed their cities, and the land was wasted, and all that was therein by the noyse of his roaring.
8 Und die Völkerschaften setzten sich wider ihn aus den Landschaften ringsumher, und breiteten ihr Netz aus wider ihn, und in ihrer Fallgrube ward er erfaßt.
Then the nations set against him on euery side of the countreys, and laide their nets for him: so he was taken in their pit.
9 Und sie taten ihn in den Käfig an Haken und brachten ihn herein zum König von Babel und brachten ihn in die Festen, damit seine Stimme nicht mehr auf Israels Bergen gehört würde.
And they put him in prison and in chaines, and brought him to the King of Babel, and they put him in holdes, that his voyce should no more be heard vpon the mountaines of Israel.
10 Deine Mutter war wie ein Weinstock, dir ähnlich, am Wasser hingepflanzt; fruchtbar und rebenvoll ward er vom vielen Wasser.
Thy mother is like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she brought foorth fruite and branches by the abundant waters,
11 Und hatte starke Stäbe zu Zeptern der Herrscher, und sein Wuchs ward hoch zwischen Dichtverflochtenem; so ward er sichtbar durch seine Höhe, durch die Menge seiner Zweige.
And she had strong rods for the scepters of them that beare rule, and her stature was exalted among the branches, and she appeared in her height with the multitude of her branches.
12 Aber er ist im Grimm ausgerissen, zur Erde geworfen, und der Wind vom Osten hat verdorrt seine Frucht. Abgerissen und verdorrt wurden die Stäbe seiner Stärke. Das Feuer fraß sie.
But she was plucked vp in wrath: she was cast downe to the ground, and the East winde dried vp her fruite: her branches were broken, and withered: as for the rod of her strength, the fire consumed it.
13 Und nun ist er eingepflanzt in die Wüste, in ein Land der Dürre und des Durstes;
And now she is planted in the wildernes in a drie and thirstie ground.
14 Und nun ist von dem Stabe seiner Zweige Feuer ausgegangen, es frißt auf seine Frucht, und ist daran kein Stab der Stärke zum Zepter eines Herrschers. Ein Trauerlied ist es, und ward zum Trauerlied.
And fire is gone out of a rod of her branches, which hath deuoured her fruite, so that she hath no strong rod to be a scepter to rule: this is a lamentation and shalbe for a lamentation.
