1 Im Jahre siebzehn der Jahre von Pekach, dem Sohne Remaljahus, ward König Achas, der Sohn Jothams, des Königs von Judah.

The seuenteenth yeere of Pekah the sonne of Remaliah, Ahaz the sonne of Iotham King of Iudah began to reigne.

2 Achas war zwanzig Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und regierte sechzehn Jahre in Jerusalem, tat aber nicht, was recht war in den Augen Jehovahs, seines Gottes, wie David, sein Vater.

Twentie yeere olde was Ahaz, when hee began to reigne, and he reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem, and did not vprightly in the sight of the Lord his God, like Dauid his father:

3 Und er wandelte auf dem Wege der Könige Israels, und ließ auch seinen Sohn durch das Feuer durchgehen, nach den Greueln der Völkerschaften, die Jehovah vor den Söhnen Israels ausgetrieben hatte.

But walked in the way of ye kings of Israel, yea, and made his sonne to go through the fire, after the abominations of the heathen, whom the Lord had cast out before the children of Israel.

4 Und er opferte und räucherte auf den Opferhöhen und auf den Hügeln und unter jeglichem grünen Baum.

Also he offred and burnt incense in the hie places and on the hilles, and vnder euery greene tree.

5 Da zog Rezin, König von Aram, und Pekah, der Sohn Remaljahus, der König von Israel, herauf zum Streite nach Jerusalem und belagerten Achas, vermochten aber nicht, es zu erstreiten.

Then Rezin king of Aram and Pekah sonne of Remaliah King of Israel came vp to Ierusalem to fight: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not ouercome him.

6 Um selbe Zeit brachte Rezin, der König von Aram, Elath an Aram zurück und vertrieb die Juden von Elath, und Edomiter kamen nach Elath und wohnten allda bis auf diesen Tag.

At the same time Rezin king of Aram restored Elath to Aram, and droue the Iewes from Elath: so the Aramites came to Elath, and dwelt there vnto this day.

7 Und Achas sandte Boten an Tiglath-Pileser, König von Aschur, ihm zu sagen: Dein Knecht und dein Sohn bin ich; ziehe herauf und hilf mir aus der Hand des Königs von Aram, und aus der Hand des Königs von Israel, die wider mich aufgestanden sind.

Then Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Asshur, saying, I am thy seruant and thy sonne: come vp, and deliuer me out of the hand of the king of Aram, and out of the hand of the King of Israel which rise vp against me.

8 Und Achas nahm das Silber und das Gold, das sich fand im Hause Jehovahs und in den Schätzen des Hauses des Königs, und sandte es als Geschenk an den König von Aschur.

And Ahaz tooke the siluer and the golde that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house, and sent a present vnto the King of Asshur.

9 Und der König von Aschur hörte auf ihn, und der König von Aschur zog hinauf gen Damaskus, nahm es ein und führte sie weg nach Kir; den Rezin aber tötete er.

And the King of Asshur consented vnto him: and the King of Asshur went vp against Damascus. and when he had taken it, he caryed the people away to Kir, and slew Rezin.

10 Und der König Achas ging Tiglath-Pileser, dem König von Aschur, entgegen nach Damaskus, und sah den Altar, der in Damaskus war. Und der König Achas sandte dem Urijah, dem Priester, eine Zeichnung des Altares und ein Muster nach all seiner Arbeit.

And King Ahaz went vnto Damascus to meete Tiglath Pileser King of Asshur: and when King Ahaz sawe the altar that was at Damascus, he sent to Vriiah the Priest the paterne of the altar, and the facion of it, and all the workemanship thereof.

11 Und Urijah, der Priester, baute den Altar nach allem, das der König Achas aus Damaskus gesandt hatte. So machte ihn Urijah, der Priester, bis der König Achas von Damaskus kam.

And Vriiah the Priest made an altar in al poyntes like to that which King Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so did Vriiah the Priest against King Ahaz came from Damascus.

12 Und der König kam von Damaskus, und der König sah den Altar, und es nahte der König dem Altar und opferte darauf;

So when the King was come from Damascus, the King sawe the altar: and the King drewe neere to the altar and offered thereon.

13 Und er zündete sein Brandopfer und sein Speiseopfer an, und goß sein Trankopfer aus, und sprengte das Blut seiner Dankopfer auf den Altar.

And hee burnt his burnt offering, and his meate offring, and powred his drinke offring, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offrings besides the altar,

14 Und den ehernen Altar, der vor Jehovah war, ließ er von der Vorderseite des Hauses nahe bringen, daß er nicht zwischen dem Altar und dem Hause war, und gab ihn auf die Seite des Altars gegen Norden.

And set it by the brasen altar which was before the Lord, and brought it in farther before the house betweene the altar and the house of the Lord, and set it on the North side of the altar.

15 Und der König Achas gebot ihm, dem Urijah, dem Priester, und sprach: Auf dem großen Altare zünde das Brandopfer des Morgens und Abends das Speiseopfer und das Brandopfer des Königs und sein Speiseopfer und das Brandopfer des ganzen Volkes des Landes und sein Speiseopfer und seine Trankopfer an, und alles Blut des Brandopfers und alles Blut des Schlachtopfers sollst du darüber sprengen; der eherne Altar aber sei mir zum Forschen.

And King Ahaz commanded Vriiah the Priest, and sayde, Vpon the great altar set on fire in the morning the burnt offring, and in the euen the meate offring, and the Kings burnt offring and his meate offering, with the burnt offring of all the people of the lande, and their meate offring, and their drinke offrings: and powre thereby all the blood of the burnt offring, and all the blood of the sacrifice, and the brasen altar shalbe for me to inquire of God.

16 Und Urijah, der Priester, tat nach allem, was der König Achas geboten hatte.

And Vriiah the Priest did according to all that King Ahaz had commanded.

17 Und der König Achas brach die Seitentafeln der Gestelle ab, und nahm von denselben die Becken darauf weg, und nahm das Meer von den ehernen Rindern unter demselben herab und setzte es auf ein Pflaster von Steinen,

And King Ahaz brake the borders of the bases, and tooke the caldrons from off them, and tooke downe the sea from the brasen oxen that were vnder it, and put it vpon a pauement of stones.

18 Und den bedeckten Gang für den Sabbath, den sie am Haus gebaut, und den äußeren Eingang des Königs wendete er um beim Hause Jehovahs wegen des Königs von Aschur.

And the vaile for the Sabbath (that they had made in the house) and the Kings entrie without turned he to the house of the Lord, because of the King of Asshur.

19 Und die übrige Geschichte des Achas, was er tat, ist es nicht geschrieben im Buche der Tagesgeschichte der Könige Judahs?

Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahaz, which he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Iudah?

20 Und Achas entschlief zu seinen Vätern, und ward bei seinen Vätern in der Stadt Davids begraben. Und Chiskijahu, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.

And Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buryed with his fathers in the citie of Dauid, and Hezekiah his sonne reigned in his steade.
