1 Da versammelte Salomoh die Ältesten Israels und alle Häupter der Stämme, die Fürsten der Väter bei den Söhnen Israels, zum Könige Salomoh nach Jerusalem, auf daß sie heraufbrächten die Lade des Bundes Jehovahs aus der Stadt Davids, das ist Zion.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, to king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

2 Und es versammelten sich zum König Salomoh alle Männer Israels im Monde Ethanim am Feste, das ist der siebente Monat.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 Und es kamen alle Ältesten Israels, und die Priester hoben auf die Lade,

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Und brachten die Lade Jehovahs und das Versammlungszelt und alle Geräte der Heiligkeit, die im Zelte waren, herauf. Und die Priester und die Leviten brachten sie herauf.

And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

5 Und der König Salomoh und die ganze Gemeinde Israel, die sich zu ihm eingestellt, opferten mit ihm vor der Lade Kleinvieh und Rinder, daß sie sich nicht zählen, noch berechnen ließen vor Menge.

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled to him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

6 Und die Priester brachten die Lade des Bundes Jehovahs herein an ihren Ort, zum Sprechort des Hauses, zum Allerheiligsten, unter die Flügel der Cherube.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD to his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

7 Denn die Cherube breiteten die Flügel über den Ort der Lade aus, und die Cherube bedeckten die Lade und ihre Stangen von oben her.

For the cherubim spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

8 Und die Stangen waren so lang, daß die Spitzen der Stangen gesehen wurden vom Heiligtum aus vor dem Sprechorte; sie wurden aber nicht gesehen von außen, und sie sind allda bis auf diesen Tag.

And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are to this day.

9 In der Lade war nichts, als die zwei steinernen Tafeln, die Moses am Choreb da hineingelegt, wo Jehovah mit den Söhnen Israels abschloß bei ihrem Auszug aus dem Lande Ägypten.

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Und es geschah, da die Priester aus dem Heiligtum herauskamen, daß die Wolke das Haus des Jehovah erfüllte.

And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

11 Und die Priester vermochten nicht, zu stehen ihren Dienst zu tun vor der Wolke; denn die Herrlichkeit Jehovahs hatte das Haus Jehovahs erfüllt.

So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

12 Da sprach Salomoh: Jehovah hat gesprochen, daß Er im Wolkendunkel wohnen werde.

Then spoke Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13 Ich habe ein Haus gebaut zum Wohnort für Dich, eine Stätte, daß Du da wohnest ewiglich.

I have surely built you an house to dwell in, a settled place for you to abide in for ever.

14 Und der König wandte sein Angesicht herum und segnete die ganze Versammlung Israel. Und die ganze Versammlung Israel stand.

And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood; )

15 Und er sprach: Gesegnet sei Jehovah, der Gott Israels, Der mit Seinem Munde geredet hat zu David, meinem Vater, und erfüllt mit Seiner Hand und gesprochen hat:

And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

16 Von dem Tage an, da Ich Mein Volk Israel aus Ägypten herausgebracht, habe Ich keine Stadt erwählt aus allen Stämmen Israels, ein Haus zu bauen, daß Mein Name allda wäre. Ich erwählte aber David, daß er über Mein Volk Israel sein sollte.

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

17 Und es war im Herzen Davids, meines Vaters, dem Namen Jehovahs, des Gottes Israels, ein Haus zu bauen.

And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

18 Aber Jehovah sprach zu David, meinem Vater: Weil es dir im Herzen war, Meinem Namen ein Haus zu bauen, hast du daran wohlgetan, daß es in deinem Herzen war.

And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build an house to my name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 Doch nicht du sollst das Haus bauen, sondern dein Sohn, der aus deinen Hüften kommt, der soll Meinem Namen das Haus bauen.

Nevertheless you shall not build the house; but your son that shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house to my name.

20 Und Jehovah hat Sein Wort bestätigt, das Er geredet: Und ich bin an Davids, meines Vaters, Stelle aufgestanden und sitze auf dem Throne Israels, so wie Jehovah geredet, und habe dem Namen Jehovahs, des Gottes Israels, das Haus gebaut,

And the LORD has performed his word that he spoke, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

21 Und habe allda den Ort gesetzt für die Lade, darin der Bund Jehovahs ist, den Er mit unseren Vätern schloß, da Er sie aus dem Lande Ägypten ausführte.

And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

22 Und Salomoh stand vor dem Altar Jehovahs, gegenüber der ganzen Versammlung Israel, und breitete seine Hände gen Himmel aus,

And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23 Und sprach: Jehovah, Gott Israels, keiner ist wie Du, Gott, im Himmel oben und auf Erden unten, Der Du hältst den Bund und die Barmherzigkeit Deinen Knechten, die von ganzem Herzen vor Dir wandeln.

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like you, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keep covenant and mercy with your servants that walk before you with all their heart:

24 Der Du Deinem Knechte, dem David, meinem Vater, gehalten, was Du zu ihm geredet hast; und Du hast geredet mit Deinem Munde und mit Deiner Hand erfüllt, wie es an diesem Tage ist.

Who have kept with your servant David my father that you promised him: you spoke also with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is this day.

25 Und nun, Jehovah, Gott Israels, halte Deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, was Du zu ihm geredet und gesprochen hast: Nicht soll von dir ausgerottet werden ein Mann vor Mir, der sitze auf dem Throne Israels, nur sollen deine Söhne ihren Weg halten, daß sie wandeln vor Mir, wie du vor Mir gewandelt bist.

Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that you promised him, saying, There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that your children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as you have walked before me.

26 Und nun, Gott Israels, lasse Deine Worte sich bewähren, die Du zu Deinem Knechte David, meinem Vater, geredet hast.

And now, O God of Israel, let your word, I pray you, be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

27 Sollte in Wahrheit Gott auf Erden wohnen? Siehe die Himmel und die Himmel der Himmel fassen Dich nicht; wie denn das Haus da, das ich gebaut habe?

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?

28 Aber wende Dich zu dem Gebete Deines Knechtes und zu seinem Flehen, Jehovah, mein Gott, auf daß Du hörest auf die Lobpreisung und das Gebet, das Dein Knecht vor Dir betet diesen Tag.

Yet have you respect to the prayer of your servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer, which your servant prays before you to day:

29 Laß Deine Augen geöffnet sein über diesem Hause Nacht und Tag, über dem Ort, von dem Du gesprochen: Mein Name soll sein allda! Auf daß Du hörest auf das Gebet, das Dein Knecht an diesem Orte betet.

That your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which you have said, My name shall be there: that you may listen to the prayer which your servant shall make toward this place.

30 Und höre auf das Flehen Deines Knechtes und Deines Volkes Israel, das sie an diesem Orte beten werden; und wenn Du es hörst an dem Orte, da Du wohnst im Himmel, so höre und vergib.

And listen you to the supplication of your servant, and of your people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear you in heaven your dwelling place: and when you hear, forgive.

31 So ein Mann sündigt wider seinen Genossen, und man ihm einen Eid auflegt, ihn zu beeidigen, und der Eid vor Deinem Altar in diesem Hause kommt;

If any man trespass against his neighbor, and an oath be laid on him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before your altar in this house:

32 So höre Du im Himmel und tue und richte Deine Knechte, auf daß die Ungerechtigkeit auf den Ungerechten komme, und Du seinen Wandel bringest auf sein Haupt, und Du den Gerechten rechtfertigest und ihm gebest nach seiner Gerechtigkeit.

Then hear you in heaven, and do, and judge your servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way on his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

33 Wenn Dein Volk Israel vor einem Feind geschlagen wird, weil sie gegen Dich gesündigt haben, und sie zu Dir zurückkehren und Deinen Namen bekennen und beten und flehen zu Dir in diesem Haus;

When your people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against you, and shall turn again to you, and confess your name, and pray, and make supplication to you in this house:

34 So höre Du im Himmel und vergib die Sünde Deines Volkes Israel, und bringe sie zurück auf den Boden, den Du ihren Vätern gegeben hast.

Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to their fathers.

35 Wenn sich die Himmel zurückhalten, und kein Regen ist, weil sie gegen Dich gesündigt haben, und sie beten an diesem Ort und bekennen Deinen Namen und kehren zurück von ihrer Sünde, weil Du sie gedemütigt hast;

When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against you; if they pray toward this place, and confess your name, and turn from their sin, when you afflict them:

36 So höre Du im Himmel und vergib die Sünde Deiner Knechte und Deines Volkes Israel, weil Du ihnen den guten Weg weisest, auf dem sie gehen sollen, und gib Regen auf Dein Land, das Du Deinem Volke zum Erbe gegeben hast.

Then hear you in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, and of your people Israel, that you teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

37 So eine Hungersnot im Lande ist, eine Pest, wenn ein Kornbrand, eine Vergilbung, Heuschrecken, Grillen sein werden; so sein Feind im Lande, es in seinen Toren bedrängt, oder irgendeine Plage oder Krankheit;

If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be;

38 Alles Gebet, alles Flehen, das unter allen Menschen, unter all Deinem Volke Israel sein wird, und jeder Mann die Plage seines Herzens erkennt und seine Hände zu diesem Hause ausbreitet;

What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all your people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

39 So höre Du im Himmel, der Stätte, da Du wohnst, und vergib und tue und gib jedem Mann nach allen seinen Wegen, da Du sein Herz weißt; denn Du allein weißt das Herz aller Söhne des Menschen.

Then hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart you know; (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men; )

40 Auf daß sie Dich fürchten alle Tage, die sie auf dem Boden leben, den Du unseren Vätern gegeben hast.

That they may fear you all the days that they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

41 Und auch ein Ausländer, der nicht von Deinem Volke Israel ist, aber aus fernem Lande kommt um Deines Namens willen,

Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of your people Israel, but comes out of a far country for your name’s sake;

42 Denn sie werden hören von Deinem großen Namen und Deiner gewaltigen Hand und Deinem ausgereckten Arm], und so er kommt und betet in diesem Hause;

(For they shall hear of your great name, and of your strong hand, and of your stretched out arm; ) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

43 So höre Du auf ihn im Himmel, in der Stätte, da Du wohnst, und tue alles, um das der Ausländer Dich anruft, auf daß alle Völker der Erde Deinen Namen erkennen, Dich fürchten, wie Dein Volk Israel, und daß sie erkennen, daß Dein Name über dieses Haus, das ich erbaut habe, angerufen wird.

Hear you in heaven your dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calls to you for: that all people of the earth may know your name, to fear you, as do your people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have built, is called by your name.

44 Wenn Dein Volk auszieht zum Streite wider seinen Feind auf dem Wege, den Du es senden wirst, und sie beten zu Jehovah nach der Stadt hin, die Du erwählt hast, und nach dem Hause hin, daß ich Deinem Namen gebaut habe;

If your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever you shall send them, and shall pray to the LORD toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house that I have built for your name:

45 So höre Du im Himmel ihr Beten und ihr Flehen, und schaffe ihnen Recht.

Then hear you in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 So sie sündigen wider Dich denn es ist kein Mensch, der nicht sündigt, und Du zürnst wider sie, und gibst sie hin vor dem Feind, und die sie gefangennehmen, sie in das Land des Feindes, fern oder nahe, gefangen führen;

If they sin against you, (for there is no man that sins not, ) and you be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives to the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 Wenn sie dann in ihr Herz sich es zurückbringen in dem Lande, da sie gefangen sind, und zurückkehren und flehen zu Dir im Lande derer, die sie gefangengenommen, und sprechen, wir haben gesündigt und verkehrt gehandelt, wir haben Ungerechtigkeit begangen,

Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land where they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication to you in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

48 Und sie kehren zurück zu Dir von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele im Lande ihrer Feinde, die sie gefangen geführt, und zu Dir beten nach ihrem Lande hin, das Du gegeben ihren Vätern, nach der Stadt hin, die Du erwählt, und nach dem Hause hin, das ich Deinem Namen gebaut habe;

And so return to you with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray to you toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, the city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name:

49 So höre im Himmel, der Stätte, da Du wohnst, ihr Gebet und ihr Flehen und schaffe ihnen Recht,

Then hear you their prayer and their supplication in heaven your dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

50 Und vergib Deinem Volke, was sie wider Dich gesündigt und alle ihre Übertretungen, womit sie wider Dich übertreten haben, und gib ihnen Erbarmen vor denen, die sie gefangen geführt, da sie ihrer sich erbarmen.

And forgive your people that have sinned against you, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against you, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

51 Denn Dein Volk und Dein Erbe sind sie, die Du aus Ägypten mitten aus dem eisernen Ofen herausgebracht hast.

For they be your people, and your inheritance, which you brought forth out of Egypt, from the middle of the furnace of iron:

52 So seien denn geöffnet Deine Augen für das Flehen Deines Knechtes und für das Flehen Deines Volkes Israel, auf daß Du hörest auf sie in allem, um das sie Dich anrufen.

That your eyes may be open to the supplication of your servant, and to the supplication of your people Israel, to listen to them in all that they call for to you.

53 Denn Du hast sie Dir zum Erbe ausgeschieden von allen Völkern der Erde, wie Du durch die Hand Moses, Deines Knechtes, geredet hast, da Du, Herr Jehovah, unsere Väter aus Ägypten herausgebracht.

For you did separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be your inheritance, as you spoke by the hand of Moses your servant, when you brought our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God.

54 Und es geschah, als Salomoh all dies Gebet und Flehen zu Jehovah zu beten vollendet hatte, da stand er auf von dem Beugen auf seinen Knien vor dem Altare Jehovahs und breitete seine Hände aus gen Himmel;

And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication to the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 Und stand und segnet die ganze Versammlung Israel mit großer Stimme und sprach:

And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 Gesegnet sei Jehovah, Der Seinem Volke Israel Ruhe gab, nach allem, was Er geredet hatte, nicht ein Wort ist dahingefallen von all Seinem guten Worte, das Er durch die Hand Moses, Seines Knechtes, geredet hat.

Blessed be the LORD, that has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 Jehovah, unser Gott, sei mit uns, gleich wie Er mit unseren Vätern gewesen! Er verlasse uns nicht, und gebe uns nicht dahin;

The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

58 Er neige unsere Herzen zu Ihm, auf daß wir in allen Seinen Wegen wandeln, und halten Seine Gebote und Seine Satzungen und Seine Rechte, die Er unseren Vätern geboten hat.

That he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

59 Und diese meine Worte, die ich vor Jehovah gefleht, mögen sie nahe sein Jehovah, unserem Gott, Tag und Nacht, auf daß Er Recht schaffe, Seinem Knechte, und Recht Seinem Volke, des Tages Sache an seinem Tag.

And let these my words, with which I have made supplication before the LORD, be near to the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

60 Auf daß alle Völker der Erde erkennen, daß Jehovah der Gott ist, und keiner mehr.

That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else.

61 Und euer Herz sei im Frieden mit Jehovah, unserem Gott, auf daß ihr wandelt in Seinen Satzungen, und Seine Gebote haltet, wie an diesem Tag.

Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 Und der König und ganz Israel mit ihm opferten vor Jehovah Opfer.

And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

63 Und Salomoh opferte das Opfer der Dankopfer, die er Jehovah opferte, zweiundzwanzigtausend Rinder und hundertzwanzigtausend Schafe, und sie weihten das Haus Jehovahs ein, der König und alle Söhne Israels.

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

64 An selben Tag heiligte der König die Mitte des Vorhofes vor dem Hause Jehovahs; denn er machte daselbst das Brandopfer und das Speiseopfer und das Fett der Dankopfer; denn der eherne Altar vor Jehovah war zu klein, um das Brandopfer und das Speiseopfer und das Fett der Dankopfer zu fassen.

The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brazen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 Und Salomoh feierte zu jener Zeit das Fest, und ganz Israel mit ihm, eine große Versammlung, von wo man kommt von Chamath bis an den Bach Ägyptens, vor Jehovah, unserem Gott, sieben Tage und sieben Tage: vierzehen Tage.

And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath to the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

66 Am achten Tage entließ er das Volk, und sie segneten den König und gingen hin zu ihren Zelten, fröhlich und guten Herzens über all das Gute, das Jehovah David, Seinem Knechte, und Israel, Seinem Volke, getan.

On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
