Psalm 130

1 Ein Lied im höhern Chor. Aus der Tiefe rufe ich, HERR, zu dir.

[A Song of Ascents.] Out of the depths I have cried to you, Jehovah.

2 Herr, höre auf meine Stimme, laß deine Ohren merken auf die Stimme meines Flehens!

Jehovah, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to the voice of my petitions.

3 So du willst, HERR, Sünden zurechnen, Herr, wer wird bestehen?

If you, JAH, kept a record of sins, Jehovah, who could stand?

4 Denn bei dir ist die Vergebung, daß man dich fürchte.

But there is forgiveness with you, so that you may be revered.

5 Ich harre des HERRN; meine Seele harret, und ich hoffe auf sein Wort.

I wait for Jehovah. My soul waits. I hope in his word.

6 Meine Seele wartet auf den Herrn von einer Morgenwache bis zur andern.

My soul longs for Jehovah more than watchmen long for the morning; more than watchmen for the morning.

7 Israel, hoffe auf den HERRN! denn bei dem HERRN ist die Gnade und viel Erlösung bei ihm,

Israel, hope in Jehovah, for with Jehovah there is loving kindness. With him is abundant redemption.

8 und er wird Israel erlösen aus allen seinen Sünden.

He will redeem Israel from all their sins.
