Jesaja 14
1 Denn der HERR wird sich über Jakob erbarmen und Israel noch fürder erwählen und sie in ihr Land setzen. Und Fremdlinge werden sich zu ihnen tun und dem Hause Jakob anhangen.
And the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and they shall rest on their land: and the stranger shall be added to them, yea, shall be added to the house of Jacob.
2 Und die Völker werden sie nehmen und bringen an ihren Ort, daß sie das Haus Israel besitzen wird im Lande des HERRN zu Knechten und Mägden, und sie werden gefangen halten die, von welchen sie gefangen waren, und werden herrschen über ihre Dränger.
And the Gentiles shall take them, and bring them into their place: and they shall inherit them, and they shall be multiplied upon the land for servants and handmaidens: and they that took them captives shall become captives [to them]; and they that had lordship over them shall be under [their] rule.
3 Und zu der Zeit, wenn dir der HERR Ruhe geben wird von deinem Jammer und Leid und von dem harten Dienst, darin du gewesen bist,
And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow and vexation, [and from] thy hard servitude wherein thou didst serve them.
4 so wirst du solch ein Lied anheben wider den König von Babel und sagen: Wie ist's mit dem Dränger so gar aus, und der Zins hat ein Ende!
And thou shalt take up this lamentation against the king of Babylon, How has the extortioner ceased, and the taskmaster ceased!
5 Der HERR hat die Rute der Gottlosen zerbrochen, die Rute der Herrscher,
The Lord has broken the yoke of sinners, the yoke of princes.
6 welche die Völker schlug mit Grimm ohne Aufhören und mit Wüten herrschte über die Heiden und verfolgte ohne Barmherzigkeit.
Having smitten a nation in wrath, with an incurable plague, smiting a nation with a wrathful plague, which spared [them] not, he rested in quiet.
7 Nun ruht doch alle Welt und ist still und jauchzt fröhlich.
All the earth cries aloud with joy:
8 Auch freuen sich die Tannen über dich und die Zedern auf dem Libanon und sagen: “Weil du liegst, kommt niemand herauf, der uns abhaue.”
the trees also of Libanus rejoice against thee, and the cedar of Libanus, [saying], From the time that thou hast been laid low, no one has come up to cut us down.
9 Die Hölle drunten erzittert vor dir, da du ihr entgegenkamst. Sie erweckt dir die Toten, alle Gewaltigen der Welt, und heißt alle Könige der Heiden von ihren Stühlen aufstehen, (Sheol h7585)
Hell from beneath is provoked to meet thee: all the great ones that have ruled over the earth have risen up together against thee, they that have raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations. (Sheol h7585)
10 daß dieselben alle umeinander reden und sagen zu dir: “Du bist auch geschlagen gleichwie wir, und es geht dir wie uns.”
All shall answer and say to thee, Thou also hast been taken, even as we; and thou art numbered amongst us.
11 Deine Pracht ist herunter in die Hölle gefahren samt dem Klange deiner Harfen. Maden werden dein Bett sein und Würmer deine Decke. (Sheol h7585)
Thy glory has come down to Hades, and thy great mirth: under thee they shall spread corruption, and the worm shall be thy covering. (Sheol h7585)
12 Wie bist du vom Himmel gefallen, du schöner Morgenstern! Wie bist du zur Erde gefällt, der du die Heiden schwächtest!
How has Lucifer, that rose in the morning, fallen from heaven! He that sent [orders] to all the nations is crushed to the earth.
13 Gedachtest du doch in deinem Herzen: “Ich will in den Himmel steigen und meinen Stuhl über die Sterne Gottes erhöhen;
But thou saidst in thine heart, I will go up to heaven, I will set my throne above the stars of heaven: I will sit on a lofty mount, on the lofty mountains toward the north:
14 ich will mich setzen auf den Berg der Versammlung in der fernsten Mitternacht; ich will über die hohen Wolken fahren und gleich sein dem Allerhöchsten.”
I will go up above the clouds: I will be like the Most High.
But now thou shalt go down to hell, even to the foundations of the earth. (Sheol h7585)
16 Wer dich sieht, wird dich schauen und betrachten und sagen: “Ist das der Mann, der die Erde zittern und die Königreiche beben machte?
They that see thee shall wonder at thee, and say, This is the man that troubled the earth, that made kings to shake;
17 der den Erdboden zur Wüste machte und die Städte darin zerbrach und gab seine Gefangenen nicht los?”
that made the whole world desolate, and destroyed its cities; he loosed not those who were in captivity.
18 Alle Könige der Heiden miteinander liegen doch mit Ehren, ein jeglicher in seinem Hause;
All the kings of the nations lie in honour, [every] man in his house.
19 du aber bist verworfen fern von deinem Grabe wie ein verachteter Zweig, bedeckt von Erschlagenen, die mit dem Schwert erstochen sind, die hinunterfahren zu den Steinen der Grube, wie eine zertretene Leiche.
But thou shalt be cast forth on the mountains, as a loathed carcase, with many dead who have been pierced with swords, going down to the grave.
20 Du wirst nicht wie jene begraben werden, denn du hast dein Land verderbt und dein Volk erschlagen; denn man wird des Samens der Boshaften nimmermehr gedenken.
As a garment defiled with blood shall not be pure, so neither shalt thou be pure; because thou hast destroyed my land, and hast slain my people: thou shalt not endure for ever, —[thou] an evil seed.
21 Richtet zu, daß man seine Kinder schlachte um ihrer Väter Missetat willen, daß sie nicht aufkommen noch das Land erben noch den Erdboden voll Städte machen.
Prepare thy children to be slain for the sins of their father; that they arise not, and inherit the earth, nor fill the earth with wars.
22 Und ich will über dich kommen, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, und zu Babel ausrotten ihr Gedächtnis, ihre Übriggebliebenen, Kind und Kindeskind, spricht der HERR,
And I will rise up against them, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will destroy their name, and remnant, and seed: thus saith the Lord.
23 und will Babel machen zum Erbe der Igel und zum Wassersumpf und will sie mit einem Besen des Verderbens kehren, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.
And I will make the region of Babylon desert, so that hedgehogs shall dwell [there], and it shall come to nothing: and I will make it a pit of clay for destruction.
24 Der HERR Zebaoth hat geschworen und gesagt: Was gilt's? es soll gehen, wie ich denke, und soll bleiben, wie ich es im Sinn habe;
Thus saith the Lord of hosts, As I have said, so it shall be: and as I have purposed, so [the matter] shall remain:
25 daß Assur zerschlagen werde in meinem Lande und ich ihn zertrete auf meinen Bergen, auf daß sein Joch von ihnen genommen werde und seine Bürde von ihrem Hals komme.
[even] to destroy the Assyrians upon my land, and upon my mountains: and they shall be for trampling; and their yoke shall be taken away from them, and their glory shall be taken away from their shoulders.
26 Das ist der Anschlag, den er hat über alle Lande, und das ist die ausgereckte Hand über alle Heiden.
This is the purpose which the Lord has purposed upon the whole earth: and this the hand that is uplifted against all the nations.
27 Denn der HERR Zebaoth hat's beschlossen, wer will's wehren?, und seine Hand ist ausgereckt, wer will sie wenden?
For what the Holy God has purposed, who shall frustrate? and who shall turn back his uplifted hand?
28 Im Jahr, da der König Ahas starb, war dies die Last:
In the year in which king Achaz died this word came.
29 Freue dich nicht, du ganzes Philisterland, daß die Rute, die dich schlug, zerbrochen ist! Denn aus der Wurzel der Schlange wird ein Basilisk kommen, und ihre Frucht wird ein feuriger fliegender Drache sein.
Rejoice not, all ye Philistines, because the yoke of him that smote you is broken: for out of the seed of the serpent shall come forth the young asps, and their young shall come forth flying serpents,
30 Denn die Erstlinge der Dürftigen werden weiden, und die Armen sicher ruhen; aber deine Wurzel will ich mit Hunger töten, und deine Übriggebliebenen wird er erwürgen.
And the poor shall be fed by him, and poor men shall rest in peace: but he shall destroy thy seed with hunger, and shall destroy thy remnant.
31 Heule Tor! schreie Stadt! Ganz Philisterland ist feige; denn von Mitternacht kommt ein Rauch, und ist kein Einsamer in seinen Gezelten.
Howl, ye gates of cities; let the cities be troubled and cry, [even] all the Philistines: for smoke is coming from the north, and there is no [possibility] of living.
32 Und was werden die Boten der Heiden hin und wieder sagen? “Zion hat der HERR gegründet, und daselbst werden die Elenden seines Volkes Zuversicht haben.”
And what shall the kings of the nations answer? That the Lord has founded Sion, and by him the poor of the people shall be saved.
