Psalm 26

1 Ein Psalm Davids. HERR, schaffe mir Recht, denn ich bin unschuldig. Ich hoffe auf den HERRN, darum werde ich nicht fallen.

[A Psalm] of David. Judge me, O LORD, for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD without wavering.

2 Prüfe mich, HERR, und versuche mich; läutere meine Nieren und mein Herz!

Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.

3 Denn deine Güte ist vor meinen Augen, und ich wandele in deiner Wahrheit.

For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes; and I have walked in thy truth.

4 Ich sitze nicht bei den eiteln Leuten und habe nicht Gemeinschaft mit den Falschen.

I have not sat with vain persons; neither will I go in with dissemblers.

5 Ich hasse die Versammlung der Boshaftigen und sitze nicht bei den Gottlosen.

I hate the congregation of evil-doers, and will not sit with the wicked.

6 Ich wasche meine Hände mit Unschuld und halte mich, HERR, zu deinem Altar,

I will wash mine hands in innocency; so will I compass thine altar, O LORD:

7 da man höret die Stimme des Dankens und da man prediget alle deine Wunder.

That I may make the voice of thanksgiving to be heard, and tell of all thy wondrous works.

8 HERR, ich habe lieb die Stätte deines Hauses und den Ort, da deine Ehre wohnet.

LORD, I love the habitation of thy house, and the place where thy glory dwelleth.

9 Raffe meine Seele nicht hin mit den Sündern, noch mein Leben mit den Blutdürstigen,

Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with men of blood:

10 welche mit bösen Tücken umgehen und nehmen gerne Geschenke.

In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.

11 Ich aber wandele unschuldig. Erlöse mich und sei mir gnädig!

But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me.

12 Mein Fuß gehet richtig. Ich will dich loben, HERR, in den Versammlungen.

My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.
