Jeremia 36
1 Im vierten Jahr Jojakims, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, geschah dies Wort zu Jeremia vom HERRN und sprach:
It happened in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from YHWH, saying,
2 Nimm ein Buch und schreibe darein alle Reden, die ich zu dir geredet habe über Israel, über Juda und alle Völker von der Zeit an, da ich zu dir geredet habe, nämlich von der Zeit Josias an bis auf diesen Tag,
"Take a scroll, and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.
3 ob vielleicht das Haus Juda, wo sie hören all das Unglück, das ich ihnen gedenke zu tun, sich bekehren wollten, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, damit ich ihnen ihre Missetat und Sünde vergeben könnte.
It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do to them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin."
4 Da rief Jeremia Baruch, den Sohn Nerias. Derselbige Baruch schrieb in ein Buch aus dem Munde Jeremias alle Reden des HERRN, die er zu ihm geredet hatte.
Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of YHWH, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll.
5 Und Jeremia gebot Baruch und sprach: Ich bin gefangen, daß ich nicht kann in des HERRN Haus gehen.
Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, "I am shut up; I can't go into the house of YHWH:
6 Du aber gehe hinein und lies das Buch, darein du des HERRN Reden aus meinem Munde geschrieben hast, vor dem Volk im Hause des HERRN am Fasttage; und sollst sie auch lesen vor den Ohren des ganzen Juda, die aus ihren Städten hereinkommen,
therefore you go, and read from the scroll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of YHWH in the ears of the people in YHWH's house on the fast day; and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.
7 ob sie vielleicht sich mit Beten vor dem HERRN demütigen wollten und sich bekehren, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen; denn der Zorn und Grimm ist groß, davon der HERR wider dies Volk geredet hat.
It may be they will present their petition before YHWH, and will return everyone from his evil way; for great is the anger and the wrath that YHWH has pronounced against this people."
8 Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, tat alles, wie ihm der Prophet Jeremia befohlen hatte, daß er die Reden des HERRN aus dem Buch läse im Hause des HERRN.
Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading from the scroll the words of YHWH in YHWH's house.
9 Es begab sich aber im fünften Jahr Jojakims, des Sohns Josias, des Königs Judas, im neunten Monden, daß man ein Fasten verkündigte vor dem HERRN allem Volk zu Jerusalem und allem Volk, das aus den Städten Judas gen Jerusalem kommt.
Now it happened in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, in the ninth month, that all the people in Jerusalem, and all the people who came from the cities of Judah to Jerusalem, proclaimed a fast before YHWH.
10 Und Baruch las aus dem Buch die Reden Jeremias im Hause des HERRN, in der Kapelle Gemarjas, des Sohns Saphans, des Kanzlers, im obern Vorhofe vor dem neuen Tor am Hause des HERRN, vor dem ganzen Volk.
Then Baruch read from the scroll the words of Jeremiah in the house of YHWH, in the room of Gemariah the son of Shaphan, the scribe, in the upper court, at the entry of the New Gate of YHWH's house, in the ears of all the people.
11 Da nun Michaja, der Sohn Gemarjas, des Sohns Saphans, alle Reden des HERRN gehöret hatte aus dem Buch,
When Micaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard from the scroll all the words of YHWH,
12 ging er hinab in des Königs Haus, in die Kanzlei. Und siehe, daselbst saßen alle Fürsten: Elisama, der Kanzler, Delaja, der Sohn Semajas, Elnathan, der Sohn Achbors, Gemarja, der Sohn Saphans, und Zedekia, der Sohn Hananjas, samt allen Fürsten.
he went down into the king's house, into the scribe's room: and look, all the officials were sitting there, Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the officials.
13 Und Michaja zeigte ihnen an alle Reden, die er gehöret hatte, da Baruch las aus dem Buch vor den Ohren des Volks.
Then Micaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the scroll in the hearing of the people.
14 Da sandten alle Fürsten Judi, den Sohn Nethanjas, des Sohns Selemjas, des Sohns Chusis, nach Baruch und ließen ihm sagen: Nimm das Buch, daraus du vor dem Volk gelesen hast, mit dir und komm! Und Baruch, der Sohn Nerias, nahm das Buch mit sich und kam zu ihnen.
Therefore all the officials sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, "Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come." So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.
15 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: Setze dich und lies, daß wir's hören! Und Baruch las ihnen vor ihren Ohren.
They said to him, "Sit down now, and read it in our ears." So Baruch read it in their ears.
16 Und da sie alle die Reden höreten, entsetzten sie sich einer gegen den andern und sprachen zu Baruch: Wir wollen alle diese Reden dem Könige anzeigen.
Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, they turned in fear one toward another, and said to Baruch, "We will surely tell the king of all these words."
17 Und fragten den Baruch: Sage uns, wie hast du alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde geschrieben?
They asked Baruch, saying, "Tell us now, How did you write all these words at his mouth?"
18 Baruch sprach zu ihnen: Er las mir alle diese Reden aus seinem Munde, und ich schrieb sie mit Tinte ins Buch.
Then Baruch answered them, "He pronounced all these words to me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink on the scroll."
19 Da sprachen die Fürsten zu Baruch: Gehe hin und verbirg dich mit Jeremia, daß niemand wisse, wo ihr seid!
Then the officials said to Baruch, "Go, hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no man know where you are."
20 Sie aber gingen hinein zum Könige in den Vorhof und ließen das Buch behalten in der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers, und sagten vor dem Könige an alle diese Reden.
They went in to the king into the court; but they had put the scroll in the room of Elishama the scribe; and they told all the words in the ears of the king.
21 Da sandte der König den Judi, das Buch zu holen. Derselbige nahm es aus der Kammer Elisamas, des Kanzlers. Und Judi las vor dem Könige und allen Fürsten, die bei dem Könige stunden.
So the king sent Jehudi to get the scroll; and he took it out of the room of Elishama the scribe. Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the officials who stood beside the king.
22 Der König aber saß im Winterhause, im neunten Monden, vor dem Kamin.
Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month: and there was a fire in the brazier burning before him.
23 Als aber Judi drei oder vier Blatt gelesen hatte, zerschnitt er's mit einem Schreibmesser und warf es ins Feuer, das im Kaminherde war, bis das Buch ganz verbrannte im Feuer.
It happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with a knife, and cast it into the fire that was in the brazier, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was in the brazier.
24 Und niemand entsetzte sich noch zerriß seine Kleider, weder der König noch seine Knechte, so doch alle diese Reden gehöret hatten.
They were not afraid, nor tore their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants who heard all these words.
25 Wiewohl Elnathan, Delaja und Gemarja baten den König, er wollte das Buch nicht verbrennen; aber er gehorchte ihnen nicht.
Moreover Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the scroll; but he would not hear them.
26 Dazu gebot noch der König Jerahmeel, dem Sohn Hamelechs, und Seraja, dem Sohn Asriels, und Selemja, dem Sohn Abdeels, sie sollten Baruch, den Schreiber, und Jeremia, den Propheten, greifen. Aber der HERR hatte sie verborgen.
The king commanded Jerahmeel the king's son, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet; but YHWH hid them.
27 Da geschah des HERRN Wort zu Jeremia, nachdem der König das Buch und die Reden, so Baruch hatte geschrieben aus dem Munde Jeremias, verbrannt hatte, und sprach:
Then the word of YHWH came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the scroll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,
28 Nimm dir wiederum ein ander Buch und schreibe alle vorigen Reden darein, die im ersten Buch stunden, welches Jojakim, der König Judas, verbrannt hat,
"Take again another scroll, and write on it all the former words that were in the first scroll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah has burned.
29 und sage von Jojakim, dem Könige Judas: So spricht der HERR; Du hast dies Buch verbrannt und gesagt: Warum hast du darein geschrieben, daß der König von Babel werde kommen und dies Land verderben und machen, daß weder Leute noch Vieh drinnen mehr sein werden?
Concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah you shall say, 'Thus says YHWH: "You have burned this scroll, saying, 'Why have you written in it, saying, "The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from there man and animal?"'"
30 Darum spricht der HERR von Jojakim, dem Könige Judas: Er soll keiner von den Seinen auf dem Stuhl Davids sitzen, und sein Leichnam soll hingeworfen des Tages in der Hitze und des Nachts in dem Frost liegen.
Therefore thus says YHWH concerning Jehoiakim king of Judah: "He shall have none to sit on the throne of David; and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.
31 Und ich will ihn und seinen Samen und seine Knechte heimsuchen um ihrer Missetat willen. Und ich will über sie und über die Bürger zu Jerusalem und über die in Juda kommen lassen all das Unglück, das ich ihnen geredet habe, und sie doch nicht gehorchen.
I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring on them, and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them, but they did not listen."'"
32 Da nahm Jeremia ein ander Buch und gab es Baruch, dem Sohn Nerias, dem Schreiber. Der schrieb darein aus dem Munde Jeremias alle die Reden, so in dem Buch stunden, das Jojakim, der König Judas, hatte mit Feuer verbrennen lassen; und über dieselbigen wurden der Reden noch viel mehr, denn jener waren.
Then Jeremiah took another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote on it at the instruction of Jeremiah all the words of the scroll which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and there were added besides to them many like words.
