5 Mose 11
1 So sollst du nun den HERRN, deinen Gott, lieben und sein Gesetz, seine Weise, seine Rechte und seine Gebote halten dein Leben lang.
Therefore you shall 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, and keep his instructions, his statutes, his judgments, and his mitzvot ·instructions·, always.
2 Und erkennet heute, das eure Kinder nicht wissen noch gesehen haben, nämlich die Züchtigung des HERRN, eures Gottes, seine HERRLIchkeit, dazu seine mächtige Hand und ausgereckten Arm
Know this day: for I don’t speak with your children who have not known, and who have not seen the chastisement of Adonai your God, his greatness, his mighty hand, his outstretched arm,
3 und seine Zeichen und Werke, die er getan hat unter den Ägyptern, an Pharao, dem Könige in Ägypten, und an all seinem Lande;
his signs, and his works, which he did in the middle of Egypt [Abode of slavery] to Pharaoh the king of Egypt [Abode of slavery], and to all his land;
4 und was er an der Macht der Ägypter getan hat, an ihren Rossen und Wagen, da er das Wasser des Schilfmeers über sie führete, da sie euch nachjagten, und sie der HERR umbrachte, bis auf diesen Tag;
and what he did to the army of Egypt [Abode of slavery], to their horses, and to their chariots; how he made the water of the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea] to overflow them as they pursued you, and how Adonai has destroyed them to this day;
5 und was er euch getan hat in der Wüste, bis ihr an diesen Ort kommen seid;
and what he did to you in the wilderness, until you came to this place;
6 was er Dathan und Abiram getan hat, den Kindern Eliabs, des Sohnes Rubens, wie die Erde ihren Mund auftat und verschlang sie mit ihrem Gesinde und Hütten und all ihrem Gut, das sie erworben hatten mitten unter dem ganzen Israel.
and what he did to Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the son of Reuben [See, a son!]; how the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and their tents, and every living thing that followed them, in the middle of all Israel [God prevails];
7 Denn eure Augen haben die großen Werke des HERRN gesehen, die er getan hat.
but your eyes have seen all of Adonai’s great work which he did.
8 Darum sollt ihr alle die Gebote halten, die ich dir heute gebiete, auf daß ihr gestärket werdet, einzukommen und das Land einzunehmen, dahin ihr ziehet, daß ihr's einnehmet;
Therefore you shall keep every mitzvah ·instruction· which I enjoin you today, that you may be strong, and go in and possess the land, where you go over to possess it;
9 und daß du lange lebest auf dem Lande, das der HERR euren Vätern geschworen hat, ihnen zu geben und ihrem Samen, ein Land, da Milch und Honig innen fleußt.
and that you may prolong your days in the land, which Adonai swore to your fathers to give to them and to their offspring, a land flowing with milk and honey.
10 Denn das Land, da du hinkommst, es einzunehmen, ist nicht wie Ägyptenland, davon ihr ausgezogen seid, da du deinen Samen säen und selbst tränken mußtest wie einen Kohlgarten,
For the land, where you go in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], that you came out of, where you sowed your seed, and watered it with your foot, as a garden of herbs;
11 sondern es hat Berge und Auen, die der Regen vom Himmel tränken muß,
but the land, where you go over to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys which drinks water from the rain of the sky,
12 auf welch Land der HERR, dein Gott, acht hat, und die Augen des HERRN, deines Gottes, immerdar drauf sehen von Anfang des Jahrs bis ans Ende.
a land which Adonai your God cares for. Adonai your God’s eyes are always on it, from the beginning of the year even to the end of the year.
13 Werdet ihr nun meine Gebote hören, die ich euch heute gebiete, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und ihm dienet von ganzem Herzen und von ganzer Seele,
It shall happen, if you shall sh'ma ·hear obey· diligently to my mitzvot ·instructions· which I enjoin you today, to 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, and to abad ·serve· him with all your heart and with all your soul,
14 so will ich eurem Lande Regen geben zu seiner Zeit, Frühregen und Spätregen, daß du einsammelst dein Getreide, deinen Most und dein Öl;
that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you may gather in your grain, your new wine, and your oil.
15 und will deinem Vieh Gras geben auf deinem Felde, daß ihr esset und satt werdet.
I will give grass in your fields for your livestock, and you shall eat and be full.
16 Hütet euch aber, daß sich euer Herz nicht überreden lasse, daß ihr abtretet und dienet andern Göttern und betet sie an,
Be careful, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside, and abad ·serve· other deities, and hawa ·bow low, prostrate· to worship them;
17 und daß dann der Zorn des HERRN ergrimme über euch und schließe den Himmel zu, daß kein Regen komme, und die Erde ihr Gewächs nicht gebe, und bald umkommet von dem guten Lande, das euch der HERR gegeben hat.
and Adonai’s anger be kindled against you, and he shut up the sky, so that there is no rain, and the land does not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Adonai gives you.
18 So fasset nun diese Worte zu Herzen und in eure Seele und bindet sie zum Zeichen auf eure Hand, daß sie ein Denkmal vor euren Augen seien.
Therefore you shall lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for frontlets between your eyes.
19 Und lehret sie eure Kinder, daß du davon redest, wenn du in deinem Hause sitzest oder auf dem Wege gehest, wenn du dich niederlegest und wenn du aufstehest.
You shall teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
20 Und schreibe sie an die Pfosten deines Hauses und an deine Tore,
You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates;
21 daß du und deine Kinder lange lebest auf dem Lande, das der HERR deinen Vätern geschworen hat, ihnen zu geben, solange die Tage vom Himmel auf Erden währen.
that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Adonai swore to your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.
22 Denn wo ihr diese Gebote alle werdet halten, die ich euch gebiete, daß ihr danach tut, daß ihr den HERRN, euren Gott, liebet und wandelt in allen seinen Wegen und ihm anhanget,
For if you shall diligently keep all these mitzvot ·instructions· which I enjoin you, to do them, to 'ahav ·affectionately love· Adonai your God, to walk in all his ways, and to dabak ·cling to, worship· to him;
23 so wird der HERR alle diese Völker vor euch her vertreiben, daß ihr größere und stärkere Völker einnehmet, denn ihr seid.
then will Adonai drive out all these nations from before you, and you shall dispossess nations greater and mightier than yourselves.
24 Alle Örter, darauf eure Fußsohle tritt, sollen euer sein; von der Wüste an und von dem Berge Libanon und von dem Wasser Phrath bis ans äußerste Meersoll eure Grenze sein.
Every place whereon the sole of your foot treads shall be yours: from the wilderness, and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates [Fruitful], even to the western sea shall be your border.
25 Niemand wird euch widerstehen mögen. Eure Furcht und Schrecken wird der HERR über alle Lande kommen lassen, darin ihr reiset, wie er euch geredet hat.
No man will be able to stand before you. Adonai your God will lay the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land that you tread on, as he has spoken to you.
26 Siehe, ich lege euch heute vor den Segen und den Fluch:
Behold, I set before you today a blessing and a curse:
27 den Segen, so ihr gehorchet den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, die ich euch heute gebiete;
the blessing, if you sh'ma ·hear obey· the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai your God, which I enjoin you today;
28 den Fluch aber, so ihr nicht gehorchen werdet den Geboten des HERRN, eures Gottes, und abtretet von dem Wege, den ich euch heute gebiete, daß ihr andern Göttern nachwandelt, die ihr nicht kennet.
and the curse, if you do not sh'ma ·hear obey· the mitzvot ·instructions· of Adonai your God, but turn aside out of the way which I enjoin you today, to go after other deities, which you have not known.
29 Wenn dich der HERR, dein Gott, in das Land bringet, da du einkommst, daß du es einnehmest, so sollst du den Segen sprechen lassen auf dem Berge Grisim und den Fluch auf dem Berge Ebal,
It shall happen, when Adonai your God brings you into the land where you go to possess it, that you shall set the blessing on Mount Gerizim, and the curse on Mount Ebal.
30 welche sind jenseit des Jordans, der Straße nach gegen der Sonnen Niedergang, im Lande der Kanaaniter, die auf dem Blachfelde wohnen gegen Gilgal über, bei dem Hain More.
Are not they beyond the Jordan [Descender], behind the way of the going down of the sun, in the land of the Canaanites [Descendants of Humbled] who dwell in the Arabah, near Gilgal, beside the oaks of Moreh?
31 Denn du wirst über den Jordan gehen, daß du einkommest, das Land einzunehmen, das euch der HERR, euer Gott, gegeben hat, daß ihr's einnehmet und drinnen wohnet.
For you are to pass over the Jordan [Descender] to go in to possess the land which Adonai your God gives you, and you shall possess it, and dwell therein.
32 So haltet nun, daß ihr tut nach allen Geboten und Rechten, die ich euch heute vorlege.
You shall observe to do all the statutes and the judgments which I set before you today.
