2 Chronik 19
1 Josaphat aber, der König Judas, kam wieder heim mit Frieden gen Jerusalem.
Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.
2 Und es ging ihm entgegen hinaus Jehu, der Sohn Hananis, der Schauer, und sprach zum Könige Josaphat: Sollst du so dem Gottlosen helfen und lieben, die den HERRN hassen? Und um deswillen ist über dir der Zorn vom HERRN.
Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate YHWH? Because of this, wrath is on you from before YHWH.
3 Aber doch ist was Gutes an dir funden, daß du die Haine hast ausgefeget aus dem Lande und hast dein Herz gerichtet, Gott zu suchen.
Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have put away the Asheroth out of the land, and have set your heart to seek God."
4 Also blieb Josaphat zu Jerusalem. Und er zog wiederum aus unter das Volk, von Berseba an bis auf das Gebirge Ephraim, und brachte sie wieder zu dem HERRN, ihrer Väter Gott.
Jehoshaphat lived at Jerusalem: and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to YHWH, the God of their fathers.
5 Und er bestellete Richter im Lande in allen festen Städten Judas, in einer jeglichen Stadt etliche,
He set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
6 und sprach zu den Richtern: Sehet zu, was ihr tut; denn ihr haltet das Gericht nicht den Menschen, sondern dem HERRN; und er ist mit euch im Gericht.
and said to the judges, "Consider what you do: for you do not judge for man, but for YHWH; and he is with you in the judgment.
7 Darum laßt die Furcht des HERRN bei euch sein und hütet euch und tut es; denn bei dem HERRN, unserm Gott, ist kein Unrecht, noch Ansehen der Person, noch Annehmen des Geschenks.
Now therefore let the fear of YHWH be on you. Take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with YHWH our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes."
8 Auch bestellete Josaphat zu Jerusalem aus den Leviten und Priestern und aus den obersten Vätern unter Israel über das Gericht des HERRN und über die Sachen und ließ sie zu Jerusalem wohnen.
Moreover in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed Levites and priests, and of the heads of the ancestral houses of Israel, for the judgment of YHWH, and for controversies. They returned to Jerusalem.
9 Und gebot ihnen und sprach: Tut also in der Furcht des HERRN, treulich und mit rechtem Herzen.
He commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall do in the fear of YHWH, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.
10 In allen Sachen, die zu euch kommen von euren Brüdern, die in ihren Städten wohnen, zwischen Blut und Blut, zwischen Gesetz und Gebot, zwischen Sitten und Rechten, sollt ihr sie unterrichten, daß sie sich nicht verschuldigen am HERRN, und ein Zorn über euch und eure Brüder komme. Tut ihm also, so werdet ihr euch nicht verschuldigen.
Whenever any controversy shall come to you from your brothers who dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them, that they not be guilty towards YHWH, and so wrath come on you and on your brothers. Do this, and you shall not be guilty.
11 Siehe, Amarja, der Priester, ist der Oberste über euch in allen Sachen des HERRN. So ist Sabadja, der Sohn Ismaels, Fürst im Hause Juda, in allen Sachen des Königs. So habt ihr Amtleute, die Leviten, vor euch. Seid getrost und tut es; und der HERR wird mit dem Guten sein.
Look, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of YHWH; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and may YHWH be with the good."
